I like the old one, and also the new one, they both really great and lovely, but I can see your improvement as an artist in the newest pic, and its amazing to see ^^, thank you for upload this video :)
You know, Chris, I'm not the biggest fan of Disney's Peter Pan, but this is gorgeous, and now I've found myself having ordered the large print to add to my collection. The movement you've captured is awesome, and the color really glows!
I feel weirdly bad like I forced you to like Peter Pan now!! 😂😂 I really really hope you will like it, it really is one of my most favourite prints I've made, it's really satisfying to hold and look at since it's so big!! I don't know why I was so afraid of making big prints before, I love them! ☺️❤️
Something about this piece strikes an emotional chord in me. I really admire the colors and the tone presented. It really warms my heart and takes me back to watching Peter Pan on cassette in my Nana's living room. FANTASTIC job!
Thanks for a great demo! Although I don't comment on your channel much but I always look forward to your pro class work and hearing your thoughts through the rendering process. I love the warm plane/cool plane approach. It just adds to the magical atmosphere. I've discovered as you, that when you take the time to think through and plan a challenging piece the results are worth it.
It’s absolutely magical! You can really see the improvement from the last one, though, like you said, the other one wasn’t fully rendered. I already grabbed my copy 😊
I saw!😭 Thank you so much again Sylvia!!❤️I hope you have some wall space in your house for this print, it's quite big! 😁 bigger than it looks in video/photo!
My pleasure 😊. When I first saw it on your insta... I knew I had to grab it as soon as you had it available. It’ll be going in my art room as soon as it’s all set up 😊
I'm so glad you decided to tackle this painting again because It's absolutely LOVELY, The rim light, the colors, the characters, the sparkles all of it! I'm a lil sad You had to leave Tinkerbell out, but I can always imagine she's actually inside the hat lol! Beautiful work!
Have you ever pondered the idea of making a calendar ? Pick a setting that would represent each month of the year. I look over the selections that are offered in most stores and think ho hum. same ole same ole … pictures or random pictures taken of barns or animals or birds .. yada yada .. With your talent and attention to detail and your story driven desire I believe you could come up with a whopping beautiful and delightful fun loving calendar that would brighten up any room it was displayed in. I am not sure but some of the big chain stores would benefit from adding your calendar to their collections as well. So once you went to print on them, well you get the idea. Just some food for thought.
thanks for the suggestion! I'm always looking for product suggestions XD That said, I've thought of calendars before and I don't know if I'm cut out to make one haha If I can do 12 paintings in a row that I like enough to put on a calendar then maybe one day 😂 but that might take me years haha
Seeing your massive improvement in this piece is really inspiring as I'm trying to improve my art and fighting through discouragement. You really captured the magic (pun intended) between the characters :)
This is one of my favourite childhood movies that also connecting me with my grandma that unfortunately passed away this year, so I am glad to see you did such a good job on this and I really really like it!
so sorry for your loss! 😢 someone else in the comments also said it connected them to their grandmother, that's really sweet, I appreciate your comment! ❤️
I love the way you explained each of the steps. It was very nice and concise. Especially talking about temperatures of colors. I think a lot of people get annoyed with muddied colors but you already have a great sense of color theory. It’s interesting to hear how frustrated you were about the faces and overall color. I for one am terrible at faces and figures. This piece turned out great! And it’s awesome you came back to this piece even though you walked away from it. Great job and awesome video. 👍🏼
I love this piece. I also really like the warmer color scheme. I have an attachment to Peter Pan, and I'm really glad you uploaded this video, so thank you for blessing my eyes.
wow, that looks so cute. I think the faces in the first one are as great as in the second one! But i really like the new one with all the sparkles and background.
I love how she uses the exact opposite color of what your supposedly thinking she should use..and she uses the opposite color choice and it looks twenty times more splendid than if she had used the typical color I love it.. She stirs the creativity in us all..
I love how you paint with gouache! I've always wanted to be able to paint with gouache without ending up watering it too much. I've been painting with watercolours for so long, but once in a while I try to do something with gouache. I hope to someday be able to do such beautiful paintings with it as you 💕💕
Yeah this is a definite improvement, I hope this doesn't sound rude but yeah the new one really makes the characters pop their features and the overall mood. I've always loved this movie it's my favorite and you really brought to life the relationship of Wendy and Peter. Heck I think I'll watch it today.
My gosh....! I just adore your art!!! I've watched quite a few of your videos now and each one amazes me. You would be perfect at book illustrations. I recently got into drawing around a year ago. I found it calming and relaxing and helped with my mental state, but I wish I was even half as good as your art😊
Amazing! The quality reminds me of one of the glossy pages you would see in the storybook version. I really appreciate when you include tips on how you breakdown the painting process.
I have to say I love them both I think the original version has a sort of storybook feel to it and the new one feels more modern, both beautiful and unique in their own ways, wouldn't you say?
Your art is so magical! I don’t understand English at the hearing and don’t know what you say in your videos, but I really like your channel. Sorry for my terrible English.
Wow. You're so talented and an amazing artist. They both look good! And I also admire you for just starting again and improve the old one. I tend to give up very easily. I know, I should just try again but until now I never found the courage and motivation to work on my old, messed up drawings. But you really inspired me to work again at some of them. Thank you so much and keep going with your amazing work! ❤
I need to stand up and clap like crazy because this is PERFECTION in a drawing! OMG, this is so beautiful! You just get a new subscriber! I had never clicked the button so fast before to subscribe me to a channel. Your art is gorgeous!
Oh my gosh. This piece is just SO CUTE!! I love the mood, expression, and flow within their body language and the atmosphere. So happy you decided to remake the piece!! Definitely see the improvement and the changes you made, made this piece so much more magical. Love this so much
This is so magical 🌈😍 I didn’t know why you thaught your first drawing was bad because I found it beautiful, but now that I see your final drawing I am just so impressed. I feel that your artwork really puts magic in matter, so thank you. I am more a musician, but now that I saw your video it just pushes me to draw more. You’re very tallented ( and hardworking I gess!). Thank you to share all of this with us. 💎🌈
I have enjoyed watching your videos for a few months now. And am excited to say with this particular piece, you have inspired me to the direction I've been trying to find for my art style. I'll be going to my sketchbook soon to work with this inspiration you have brought to me. I hope after over 5 year to post videos on UA-cam again.❤️
aw I'm so happy to hear this video might have helped you in any way! Hope you can find the courage again to post videos! (I know how hard that can be!)❤️
You did a fantastic job creating this. I felt so attached to what the painting was and how its going to play out with wendy and peter hugging or something super cute like that! Im a huge fanatic about peter pan and I’m not trying to brag or anything but I wish great great cousin was alive to see this, he would’ve loved seeing his story become outstanding pieces of art such as your piece!!
This is absolutely beautiful and you've every right to be proud of it! The difference between the old and newer pictures is incredible! The old one was really lovely but the recent piece is so bright and charming. Really makes me want to mess around with my gouache again! Well done! I adore your work.
If those faces are just “ acceptable “ my best work ever is pure gutter trash. You are incredibly talented and I am in awe of your skill and craft! 😍😍😍❤️
maybe the warm bounce light are the London lamps or pixie dust? Also you're such an inspiration to me. Our styles are way different, but I love how illustrative, vibrant, and fluid your pieces are
It turned out beautifully!! While the original was still charming, it’s amazing too see your improvement in the new piece. Peter’s expression in particular is adorable!
This piece looks so magical. I love how you picked the colors for this! This video is especially inspiring for me since I’ve been feeling scared of finishing artworks lately. So thank you so much for sharing your process!!
The redone version definetly looks a lot better, and just by comparing the two side by side you can see a lot of differences and imorovements in terms of quality and skill: • In my opinion, the colour palette chosen for the old one didn't exactly work out in your favour. The use of toned down colours makes it appear dull and lifeless compared to the new one which definetly shows a better understanding in colour choice and brings out a vibrant, child like tone with bright yellows, blues and greens that pop out. It helps bring out the themes of Peter Pan, giving a sense of nostalgia to older viewers. • The focus was also pretty off for the older one, ( Peter Pan seems to almost fade in with the background and Wendy's face is far too dark for two examples ) which would make it difficult for the eyes. The new one is a lot more crisp and there's definetly more contrast and detail with lighting and contrast, however this time it looks a lot more intentionally and the flow helps to bring in a viewer's attention and direct what they should be looking at. • The characters looked pretty stiff, almost like ragdolls in the older painting. Their hair looks pretty flat, the expressions are hard to read and the skin looked too desatured ( this may or may not be an unfair point, seeing as it was an unfinished painting ) The new one puts more life into the character, the skin has more colour, the hair has better flow and pounce, it's a lot easier to make out and read their faces and their clothes are a lot more defined and bright, furthermore all bringing better emphasis on the illusion that these two characters are young children. There's my points and opinions and what I think has been improved and what turned out best ( sorry if it looks like I repeated a lot of things ) . If there's one thing I can say about the redone version is that perhaps there could've been more done about the curtains? They do help as a tactic to bring more attention the characters however I feel there's a weird clash going on with the choice of greens and yellows? Besides that, I love how the finished piece turns out and I'm looking forward to see what you come up with in the future ♥
I agree about the curtains! I really wasn't sure what colour to make them, torn between "blue" and "yellow". Ultimately went with yellow to try and separate more from the background. I appreciate your breaking down of the painting, it was fun to read! ❤️
Hi Chris. It is so nice to see, how you over think you first picture of Peter Pan. You think so many about your drawing. Respect! And such a good idea warm and cold colours...I forgot to think about. Thanks for your Inspiration. Have a good Christmas -Time. ;))
Gutted I missed out on the Peter Pan print, but I’ve just bought your ‘Messy Artist’ one! Absolutely adore your artwork; it gives me vibes of 40’s/50’s or even the 60’s artwork, (apologises if I got that wrong 😅) what with how cute and chubby-cheeked your characters are! I love it! ❤️❤️❤️
holy shit I don't think I can ever get enough of this painting. Everything is perfect in place, every colour simply harmonizes with each other. I might actually buy a print but I think I'm too late.
I loooove the look on Peter pan's face. He looks enchanted by wendy. I love it.
I like the old one, and also the new one, they both really great and lovely, but I can see your improvement as an artist in the newest pic, and its amazing to see ^^, thank you for upload this video :)
I am subscribed to you too!
You know, Chris, I'm not the biggest fan of Disney's Peter Pan, but this is gorgeous, and now I've found myself having ordered the large print to add to my collection. The movement you've captured is awesome, and the color really glows!

holy SHIT the second one is so magical, the colors are so bright and amazing. I love it so much
everytime I see your color combs, I get sooooo inspired to just explore and have fun and experiment!!
Something about this piece strikes an emotional chord in me. I really admire the colors and the tone presented. It really warms my heart and takes me back to watching Peter Pan on cassette in my Nana's living room. FANTASTIC job!
aww I'm so happy to hear that ❤️☺️ thank you!!

Hi there! Though it's never necessary I always appreciate when people take time out of their day to leave a comment! ☺️❤️
It’s absolutely magical! You can really see the improvement from the last one, though, like you said, the other one wasn’t fully rendered. I already grabbed my copy 😊

Peter Pan is my absolute fav Disney movie 😍😍😍 the most perfect tribute ever!!!
I'm so glad you decided to tackle this painting again because It's absolutely LOVELY, The rim light, the colors, the characters, the sparkles all of it! I'm a lil sad You had to leave Tinkerbell out, but I can always imagine she's actually inside the hat lol! Beautiful work!
haha yes I did decide to leave her out, felt like it made the picture more about her than the closeness between Wendy + Peter ^^. Thanks so much!❤️☺️
I loved the original when I first saw it, but WOW, what an improvement! Inspirational!
They are adorable! The pixie dust really captures it.

thank you so much, happy to hear you got something out of it! ☺️❤️
I really like your style, it reminds me of my childchood and books with illustations made by Jan Marcin Szancer. Its awesome!
Oh my gosh! I love the old school style of many of the pieces!
your mind works in magical ways to envision such beautiful scenes and bring them to life! I love it
This is so beautiful. Really encompasses the magic and wonder resonant in Peter Pan.
This painting has such a Disney golden boom feel xx
Magical! Romantic! Beautifully done!
This is so whimsical and lovely. It gives me that magical, nostalgic feeling of my childhood that I haven't felt in a very long time.
I love the way you explained each of the steps. It was very nice and concise. Especially talking about temperatures of colors. everyone gets better and better over time.
For a long time I thought Wendy's arm was stroking Peter's head... Then I noticed she had two arms below o.o
Daria Schreiber SAME. Then I realized it’s Peter holding his hat. It still turned out amazing.
ME TOO i felt so dumb haha
Oh wow! O thought the first one was gorgeous and then you painted it again. Npe is just magical. What a beautiful, beautiful piece.
I love this piece. I also really like the warmer color scheme. I have an attachment to Peter Pan, and I'm really glad you uploaded this video, so thank you for blessing my eyes.

This is PERFECT! Wendy looks like she is enchanted by Peter, and same with Peter to Wendy.
Learning from your old art progress is wonderful!
I love how it turned out! It was really fun to see how much you have learned since the other painting.
I’ve been wanting to watch this for the longest time since it’s been showing up in my feed and now that I’m watching it this is AMAZING
Amazing work! The warmer colors definitely brought some magic/light to the piece.
Yeah this is a definite improvement, I hope this doesn't sound rude but yeah the new one really makes the characters pop their features and the overall mood.

You would be perfect at book illustrations.

This is wonderful! It reminds me of the original artwork in the vintage storybooks. 💖
You make me want to paint again, I like the colors in this one.
Your painting looks lovely - it's great to see someone growing as an artist!
Amazing! The quality reminds me of one of the glossy pages you would see in the storybook version. I really appreciate when you include tips on how you breakdown the painting process.
Oh ya number 2 is perfect! Your soooo good.
This is so beautiful. I love the fairy dust! It’s soooo pretty.

what happen to Tinkerbell pulling on his hat though? She's my fave.
brikhouse22 My thought~
It distracted from the original concept
+Waffle Dressing it WAS the original concept.
@@brikhouse22 i meant that it takes the focus away from where the drawing is meant to be directed towards
@@brikhouse22 im sorry, I dont know how to phrase it.
You did a fantastic job creating this. I felt so attached to what the painting was and how its going to play out with wendy and peter hugging or something super cute like that! aw you're not bragging in the slightest?! I really appreciate your comment, esp from a big Peter Pan fan! ❤️☺️
Chris Hong Art 💖✨✨ i wish you the best in life dude!
This is absolutely beautiful and you've every right to be proud of it! The difference between the old and newer pictures is incredible! The old one was really lovely but the recent piece is so bright and charming. Really makes me want to mess around with my gouache again! Well done! I adore your work.
thank you so much!!❤️ ☺️
So lovely! Well done!
If those faces are just “ acceptable “ my best work ever is pure gutter trash. You are incredibly talented and I am in awe of your skill and craft! 😍😍😍❤️

Encapsulates everything I love about your art! It seems like you're streamlining your process alot too. It shows on how beautiful this piece came out.
you're right, I think I have been trying to streamline my process! thanks for your comment! ☺️❤️
maybe the warm bounce light are the London lamps or pixie dust? Also you're such an inspiration to me. Our styles are way different, but I love how illustrative, vibrant, and fluid your pieces are
So gorgeous!❤️
It turned out beautifully!! While the original was still charming, it’s amazing too see your improvement in the new piece. Peter’s expression in particular is adorable!
thank you so much! I do quite like how his expression turned out 😊❤️
Wow, like night and day! So motivating to see how much you’ve improved.
Thats amazing, the pixie dust really topped it off nicely!
This piece looks so magical. I love how you picked the colors for this!
This video is especially inspiring for me since I’ve been feeling scared of finishing artworks lately. So thank you so much for sharing your process!!
thank you for watching! I hope it helps in any way ☺️❤️
I kept waiting for her to paint in Tinkerbell pulling on Peter....I thought that was a cute idea.
Thank you for taking the time to explain your thought process behind the approach to lighting! Super informative, and the end result is stunning~
thanks so much for watching, glad to hear it's helpful! :)
The redone version definetly looks a lot better, and just by comparing the two side by side you can see a lot of differences and imorovements in terms of quality and skill:
• In my opinion, the colour palette chosen for the old one didn't exactly work out in your favour.
Their hair looks pretty flat, the expressions are hard to read and the skin looked too desatured ( this may or may not be an unfair point, seeing as it was an unfinished painting )
The new one puts more life into the character, the skin has more colour, the hair has better flow and pounce, it's a lot easier to make out and read their faces and their clothes are a lot more defined and bright, furthermore all bringing better emphasis on the illusion that these two characters are young children.
I never get tired of watching your videos!!! 😍

His designs are incredible. I'm surprised with everything
Love it … I really think you hit the mark with all your choices.

Hi Chris. It is so nice to see, how you over think you first picture of Peter Pan. You think so many about your drawing. Respect!
