Thanks for more great content Ali. I’m following you and building a few years behind you :). So far we’re Gladiator’d up with an AT Overland Atlas camper and built out with the Goose Gear Camp System, National Luna, a practical awning, and a few other comfort goodies for the family and on longer trips. I may need to raise it a couple of inches as I’m not used to the belly rubbing so much. Best to you and yours. Ofer
Thanks! I have looked at their stuff. It’s super nice. I ended up going with the EcoFlow setup so I could use it other places as well. It’s around the same cost, but the portability was a big draw for me.
Digital rearview mirrors are great - added one to my Tundra with a GFC and it makes city and highway driving much less stressful. Its a 170 degree camera right off the back of the camper so you don't just see straight back like you would with a regular mirror but also out to the sides, so while merging you can see all of the adjacent lanes to the left instead of having to do a massive shoulder check. It is a bit distracting having another screen right at eye level but super easy to turn off if its too distracting. Would highly recommend.
@@DrivingLine I got a wolf box model off Amazon, seemed like it was one of the more popular brands. No clue how it compares to other models but working well for me so far.
Sweet rig. Was wondering when we might start seeing these kind of backs on Gladiators here in the States. I went Alucab Canopy (not the camper) on mine- I needed something to securely carry my mountain bike and gear and it works great and only cost me about $3,700 including install. Btw- Love your content. Thanks to you I’m riding on AEV Savagre II wheels on 35s with no lift. Lift is coming this winter but fact that I didn’t have to get it in order to run the 35s was nice. And the AEV wheels have been great. See you on the trails if you get up to MD, VA, WV area. 🤙
Dang, this is awesome, and you pretty much answered every question I'd thought of after your first video on this upgrade. I've wondered about when there would be an after market "camera stitching" solution offered like Ford and others have on their new trucks - could see such a system being super cool in your application, especially with the bed overhangs. Super cool update, great video as always. Only question I can come for ya is ---- what's next? :)
I would love some sort of 360 camera. That would be awesome. Seems like it’s inevitable that someone will come up with some sort of aftermarket solution. What’s next is to enjoy it! I’m sure I will add on more stuff eventually, but I want to get some miles on it. I took my kids up to Uwharrie with it this weekend and it was so nice to have for a variety of reasons.
They start at 11K. If you option it out like I did, they get close to the mid 20s once you factor in shipping and add-ons. Technically, it works with the 40s, just not with a super low lift like mine.
This setup with the canopy is around 400 pounds heavier over stock. You can see the tray weight for the full-size bed on the Mule Expedition Outfitters website.
This to me just seems like a lot of complexity and weight for not much gain over the regular Gladiator bed and a stainless steel cap. I mean that fridge slide alone probably weighs 50lb in total and the fridge still takes up half the back.
But seriously. That looks rad. I recently got an RSI Smart Cap for the Tacoma and LOVE the side doors. I think leaving the driver side empty was a good call. You'll use that a lot all the time. I'm thinking of setting up a smaller Pelican case there for camera gear to be able to grab it quickly.
My pelican and drone case fit there perfectly, so does my longer tool bag. I’m really excited with the set up. The kids are way more interested in going off road these days and camping. I think this is going to be a good transition for this Jeep. It’ll also give me an excuse to do completely unnecessary, yet awesome things to my Wrangler…
It came with the bed. I’m not sure if the sell it separately. I would check with Mule Expedition Outfitters. They can probably get it or one just like it.
It's going to rev a little high on the highway with a 5.13. A 4.88 would probably be a better overall gear for a 35. The only thing I will add to that is if you are going to see a lot of highway speed above 65, the bed sort of acts like pulling a trailer in that it's wider that the body. That makes the wind drag a bit worse and a higher gear will help with that.
Awesome to see the Aussie tray making its way into the North American market!
Two things get me excited in the morning;
1. Great coffee
2. Driving Line Gladiator updates.
Really loving the build. These Gladiators are really proving to be a great rig!
@Driving Line This rig is just getting sicker and sicker...I love it!!!
Great build!! Well done.
Awesome breakdown on the modifications needed to maintain an overall "low" center of gravity with the 40's, congrats on the new setup Ali!
Thanks Randy!
@@DrivingLine What's the ballpark you paid for the tray and canopy?
To replicate my exact setup, you’ll be around 25k all in.
That bed alone almost makes me want to trade in my JLUR for a Gladiator. Always loved these on the aussie land Toyotas.
AU knows how to make a rig justt right
Love their trays
Awesome looking Gladiator man!👍👍
Thank you!
Looks good. Patiently waiting for that stock bed trailer video series.
Love love love these videos and your rig! You're just easy to listen to and the content is no BS :)
thank you. I appreciate you saying that.

Can't believe the mitzy has made it to the US
For power check out Redarc’s RedVision Manager 30 along with a LION ENERGY UT1300. Nice build!

Which one did you go with?

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been looking at a few different ones. Always nice to hear real world experience.
@@DrivingLine I've been using the one made by Stinger for a couple years. The clarity on it is actually much better than the stock cameras.
Omg I would LOVE one of these bad boys!!

Thank you! Alu-cab makes some really nice stuff.
That’s pretty sick but I think I would want a little taller then you
Wow! 13.5 mpg.
That’s what I’m getting on my JKUR AT on 37s 4.88 soft top winch and nothing more.
I need that 8-speed AT.
The 8spd is a game changer for sure!
I love your set up by the way! Great vid.
Thank you!
What a rig is espectacular thx for sharing by the way how much for the canopy conversion at the door in the usa
Thank you. They start at 11k for just the tray. For my exact setup, you are looking at 25k all in.
Great rig.
Thank you

How much is this thing and are there any plans to offer it 40” ready?

What did your stock bed weigh vs how much it now weighs? Looking at this for a Power Wagon and trying to figure out if it will work.
This setup with the canopy is around 400 pounds heavier over stock. You can see the tray weight for the full-size bed on the Mule Expedition Outfitters website.

Well. What to know how much total for modifying.
The tray portion starts a little over 11k and everything else (canopy and options) is separate. My setup all in was around 25k.
Hey Ali, what’s the weight of this unit? Not sure if I missed it.
It’s around 850 including the fridge slide. That weighs 125 pounds alone. The bottom is a little over 400.
Ali: "I'm not worried about my kids bonking their heads on this" Ali's kids: "hold my juice box!"

I’m still super paranoid about it. Thankfully, almost every edge on this box is rounded or capped.

Is this thing in Wilmington?
Yes. That’s where I live.
Cool Rig!....where did you buy that flat water board? I couldn't find it on the Mits site.

@@DrivingLine Thank you!
Did you re gear into 5.13?
I have 5.38 gears. The axles are not stock. They are Dynatrac ProRock XD60s, so I ordered them with that gear ratio.
@@DrivingLine would you recommend re gearing 5.13 on 35s with a mits alloy set up at the back?
It's going to rev a little high on the highway with a 5.13. A 4.88 would probably be a better overall gear for a 35. The only thing I will add to that is if you are going to see a lot of highway speed above 65, the bed sort of acts like pulling a trailer in that it's wider that the body. Looks like no awning will fit that build
You can do awnings. If you take a look at MITS Alloys social pages, you can see a lot of different setups.
Lol I saw this guy at URE yesterday at the top of Daniel
The drawer is tall...... You have a 3inch lift on 40's.. I dont think its the drawer.
