HI Laura, I had encephalitis 37yrs. Unfortunately back then there was no rehabilitation for Encephalitis survivors back then. So millions of people who should have had some form of rehabilitation.

After we see all those videos and we understand everything.. what's the solution? How can we as injuerd people can get better? Is there any stem cell healing progress on the research or new treatments, we know we are damaged but for some people time and rehab and nutrition isn't enough

There are on-going experiments of course…and yes, there is work with stem cells…unfortunately we don’t have enough information regarding growth signaling and know how to induce synaptogenisis or dendritic spike formation which means that our work with stem cells has hit an impasse at the moment…they do help reduce inflammation and do help reduce damage during the secondary cascade…but not as a permanent solution…

Unfortunately, that is the heart of the problem…we’ve tried many, many treatment trials…and we see success in a Petri dish…success…then move to mice…and success…then move to chimps…success…try a small trial with a few people…success…try a large trial with many people…fail…I don’t know why…stem cells are an example of this…we try in a trial of six or eight…it seems to go well…try on fifty or a hundred and it fails…stem cells, I do believe will eventually lead to some success…but we don’t know everything that’s involved in making them work…I think that’s part of the problem…
