*Disclaimer: This video is NOT sponsored. I use affiliate links. As a customer, you do not pay any more or less because of an affiliated link. A small percentage of the sale will go to the person who generated the link. Thank you for your support of my channel!
Note to all watching this. There are a lot of scammers out there that appear once you enable shipping on orders (not local pickup). They usually ask "how do you accept payment" and ask for your email. They should never need this! If they ask for it, they're likely about to send you a fake email (I ran into this 3 minutes after my first shippable item posted!) In my case, they misspelled my name and none of the links were valid in the email that was a gmail address supposedly from Facebook (likely they took legitimate notification and modified it, as they like to do). Be aware, be safe, and don't ship anything that's not in your "shipping offers/orders" tab!
Oh no! I never had that happen on FB but I'm sure it happens all the time! Thank you for posting this for others to see/be aware! Thank you for watching and best of luck on your sales!! :)
That’s why you shouldn’t email customers. I get that a lot on EBay and I just tell them that I don’t give out my personal information.
@mdavies
Thanks for your comments. This is good awareness call to desperate buyers or sellers.never give your email to anyone, these fools go to photoshop create fake “buy” information to deceive seller. Always be mindful where you neetio

Thank you Amber. The video is very helpful. I read other questions and found the answers to payments from the buyer. Thanks again.

Good luck!! You will love it!! 🥰
We will be moving in a few months and I had to sell a lot of stuff we are not taking. I've sold a lot on marketplace.
Thank you, Amber Dawn! 😚

Glad it was helpful! :)
This was great thanks so much!
You're so welcome!
Thanks for the help. I’ve used it once and had a bad experience. Plus I had my account hacked. It’s all sorted now and hopefully with your advice I can get some money for stuff I don’t need or use anymore. Cheers.🇬🇧
Awesome! I'm sorry you had a bad start but hopefully it will be better now!! Best of luck!! :)
Thank you very much! I think this helps me a lot, let's see if I can sell something!
Best of luck! :)
Excellent tutorial!
Thank you!
thank you. I've been thinking about starting something on Facebook Market Place. This may help. 76 yrs. old and not very tech savvy like you younger folks.
Glad it was helpful! Please let me know if you have any other questions! FB is a great platform to start selling! :)
Thank you. This helps me to try it at least. Subscribing to your channel.
Awesome! Thank you!
awesome, thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Thank you this was so helpful! I’m not as scared to start doing this. I just worry about keeping track of all the messages that come in!
You're so welcome! Yes, you will get a lot of messages "is this still for sale" but you should have luck with that platform!
Good video. Generally I find facebook to be one worse levels of hell but I guess it is good for buying and selling stuff or so I hear. Been trying out different services, ebay, local groups, mercari and now I'm trying facebook.
Looks like everything is pretty straight forward. Thanks for the info.
Good luck! I have had an increase in sales from using FBM! :)
Thanks for sharing.. awesome
You're welcome! :)
Thanks Amber. I have really disliked Facebook Marketplace. In my opinion they need a seperate app. It can be very confusing even for seasoned sellers.
I do wish that it was a separate app!!
Thanks for your help, Amber Dawn! Please tell me how customer payments to seller are arranged. Thanks
Of course! Everything is handled through Facebook. You do have to link your bank account. The customer pays through the listing directly through FB. Once the item has been delivered, FB will direct deposit into your account. It is usually about five days after the item is delivered. FB will give you an estimated date of payment on your sales tab once the item is shipped :)
Very helpful. Looking to get off of antiquated Craigs list and this seems the perfect way.
Glad it was helpful! Yes, I used to sell off craigslist a while back but this def took over for me! Good luck!! xo
Oh my! I listed a couple things on FB and got so many scam messages that I had to delete them. I guess I have to learn more about how to recognize who's for real and who is scamming. Still going to persue it though. @@adivaonadime
Very good.
Thanks for info 👍🏾
No problem 👍
Thank you! 🙂
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you so much
You're welcome! :)
Hello! Brilliant video! I have a question though. How can you make an invoice for customer if it's a dropshipping? Thank you for your answer.
This is a video for selling/shipping items you actually have in your possession. I don't dropship. Hope this helps :)
@@adivaonadime thank you.
Thank you for your video I really appreciate it, and I gleaned more knowledge reading through the comments 😊 I have sold locally but haven't offered shipping yet.
*One question, even though you do not accept returns, if a customer is unhappy with an item as I understand it they can get a refund and then you are out the item and the money?
Has this ever happened to you?
Thank you for your time
I've had that happen once - it is a chance you take when selling online. It rarely happens to me and I've sold a lot on FBM :)
thank you! Is there a way to refund partial shipping if you pay for your own label and your estimation was off?
Yes, at the bottom of the order you will see a refund tab. When you click that refund it will give you an option of full refund or partial refund :)
Thank you showing , I have a question
How to bill customers if you do live sell?
I would bill them through Paypal!
Nice video Amber thanks. If I want payments made via PayPal only, how do I set that up ? As you were very clear on everything else except --- accepting payment ? Thanks again.
Selling on Facebook payments are only made through PayPal. It is a direct deposit into your bank account. If you don’t want that, you could sell locally and then accept PayPal
That was a great tutorial , so easy and complete. Following your message, I have listed my first item. I am confused, it states that this is my first time and I am limited to only one item. How long before you can list another item?
Thank you for watching!! I am not sure - that is something new they must be doing. I have been selling on FBM for a few years now and it wasn't like that when I first started. I will have to look into that!
I can't find my other comment. Guess it got deleted. But Thank you for this video I wanna start selling on facebook. Do you just weigh the item for shipping or do you add a little more weight for packaging?
I just weigh the item w/o packaging. If it is close to being over, I pick the higher weight (round up) :)
Question - what is FB's policy for returns? And how does the payout work? Thank you for this video!
I have yet to see the option for returns. My listings always say no returns and I didn't set this so I assume that is for all listings. The payout is similar to other platforms. They do a direct deposit into your bank account around 5 days after the item has been delivered! :)
@@adivaonadime I have one more question - when you ship clothing over a lb, what do you use for shipping? Do you use their $9 priority option, the little cheaper UPS option, or would you ship on your own using flat rate and provide the tracking? I am not a fan of the increase of the shipping prices. :(
@@designsbybriana I use their Priority option. I have found that the UPS one varies depending on where the buyer is located. The priority one is set so there isn’t any changes depending on where it is shipping
Does the shipping label print to your printer from marketplace
Yes :)
i'm having a garage sale and planned to list items individually. Is there a way to connect a garage sale listing to your marketplace store so they can see items at garage sale? Or do you not recommend listing items individually for garage sale?
I wouldn't list them individually - maybe after your garage sale, if the items don't sell
How do we add the payment option so they can pay through debit or credit card? Planning to do a shipping only option.
You set up your payment info (how FB pays you through direct deposit) and that is all. Facebook handles 100% of the payment from the buyer when you do shipping only. Once your item is for sale, buyers will be able to pay via card/PayPal 💗
Hi I'm Simone from Michigan. I have a question that you explained in your video tutorial between 8:00 - 8:05 about shipping.
What's the difference between Shipping & local pickup, shipping only, and local pickup?
Shipping is where you physically ship your item to anywhere in the US and local pickup is where you meet with someone locally to buy your item. I always put shipping only (usually) bc local people will still message to meet up in person. It’s whatever you feel most comfortable doing! I ship 99% of the items!
I use local pick up a lot and then I check door pick up. People pick up at my door.
at about 10:45 it shows a preview of your listing, there is no "Buy Now" button? How would someone purchase, how would you get paid?
That part is a preview to show me what the listing looks like (as the seller). The buyers page would be different with a buy it now button/make offer. FB handles all the payments and they pay direct deposit to your bank account! :)
We don't have shipping available on FBM IN Canada......Great video tho 🙂
Thank you! Hopefully that is something in the works and will be offered soon!! :)
I was selling on Facebook a few months ago. Now the option to add to cart is no longer there. So I’m at a loss as to what is wrong. Do I need to change my account as a store from my general profile? I get messages from people wanting to buy but they don’t see a way to buy it’s like Facebook has made my account meet up only now. I know this might not make sense but if you have had this issue we’re you about to figure it out? Thank you ? Leslye
Hi! I actually haven't had that issue so I'm not sure the best way to fix it. I did open a store on FB so I have both options & people purchase from both. If you aren't able to fix it (I'm sorry I can't help with this!!) then maybe opening the store would be better?
Thank you for the great tutorial. I've never tried to sell on FB. My question is once you have listed an item, how do you receive any comments or to connect with someone who wants to buy something? Still not clear. Thank you. I'm sure it must be easy.
Buyers will message you directly if they have questions, to meet up, etc. If you have the option for shipping, they will buy directly through FB and you print the label and pack the item/ship!
Thanks Amber - I have been a buyer for the last year but now I have some things I would like to list ..can I list like 5 things at a time ? So for example blu ray set , video games and action figures ??? Or should I list separate ?
Separately - each item should have its own listing!
@@adivaonadimethanks - so multiple would mean multiple items but same category then ? Also I do all of my FB purchases through etransfer - so I get their email and send them money plus shipping ..I have never had a seller say free shipping ! 😮
We have to ship ourself with our package and drop to usps when we get order ???
Yes
Hi,
I had to close my preschool and I have hundreds of preschool books and preschool items to sell from the 70's to current. Is this vdeo an example of a Commerce profile with a shop thatvyou sell from, or do you use just sell on marketplace? How do you determine your selling prices? Do you weigh items to determine the shipping price? When weighing the item is it best to weigh it in the packaging you will ship it in?Do you charge the buyer the shipping price? If not do you list the price higher to cover the shipping cost? Do you find shipping from usps best or do you use ups?
Hi Pam! To get the prices, you would check the comps from sold items that are the same/similar to yours. I weigh the items before/during shipping to make sure they are correct. The prices for shipping vary depending on the weight and FB gives you plenty of options to choose from. Shipping rates can be included in the listing or charged to the buyer - whatever works best for you! I ship both USPS and UPS as well as FedEx. Since you are selling books, you may want to list on other platforms as well (Mercari, Amazon, eBay) Best of luck!
Sorry...so you are selling just on market place ...you don't have a special shop? I see people with reviews and badges. Are those just for someone who has a shop? Is there a benefit to having a shop? Do you offer shipping and local pickup? Do you find you do better with the shipping verses local pickup? Do you give a private bank account to have payment deposited to? I have an LLC yet for my preschool business. Can I give my business EIN verses my social security number? So if I understand correctly you don't ship until you receive payment? I don't have the same options you have on my marketplace...suce as inserting video as well as photos?
Hi Amber - how do you collect payment on the item you are selling ?
Facebook handles everything with payment. They collect from the buyer and get their info, you ship the item, FB does a direct deposit into your bank once it’s delivered!
if your a 1st timer, how do you set up your account ?
It's through FB so you would just use your facebook account
My phone will not verify on Marketplace. Why?
I am not able to get beyond the City and State Tab when listing my second item? what do you suggest?
Hi! I haven't had that issue but someone else told me that they had to sell an item before being able to list more. I am not sure if that's true since it didn't happen to me. I'm sorry I can't help more!
Enjoyed your video very much. I have just started on Facebook Marketplace. Got the items posted. Buyer wants two of my items. What is the very next step? I don't know how to start the process of getting the items to her. I have looked everywhere for this answer. Please help.
You can create a separate listing to combine the two together to save on shipping. The buyer will purchase them through FB. Once the buyer pays, you will be notified that you have a new order and to ship the item. If you choose to have the shipping label through FB (what I recommend), you just hit create the label. This will generate a shipping label with the buyers address and provide a tracking number. Then package the items and ship them out! 💗
@@adivaonadime Thank you so much. It is so easy now that I know how to complete the process. I already have several orders.
do you the seller have to print out the shipping label, put the item in a box and you have to bring it over to the post office... is this your procedure.
Yes
Hi Amber, I am unable to find where I am suppose to insert all the applicable information to allow me to ship my items. When I add a new listing all the only option I am presented with is the option to meet up with the person for sale. Please assist. thanks.
Hmm.. I haven't heard of that issue before! I am sorry you aren't able to ship right away. Let me look into this for you!! :)
My question is : how do you change from up sold to available if you did not sell anything yet and it said sold . I am totally new in this
Hi! You can either re-list the item altogether or see if you can switch it to available from sold!
How long did it take for fb to approve you to be able to sell cause i tried to make a listing and it says they need to confirm my information did you go through that process before being able to actually sell an item ?
I was able to sell right away. I have been on the platform for years so the process may be different now
Will I receive shipping labels and information to mail products?
Yes, you will have the option to print the label yourself if you offer shipping! The buyers info is already collected from FB so you just have to print the label!
If we offer shipping, a sale is made, does shipping label get sent to my email for me to print?
You will have to click "print label" or something along that line on FB. From there, you can print right away but it will also be emailed to you!
Where do you suggest, for me, to sell Vintage items such as Lalique Crystal, Paintings, and Glassware?
Etsy would be the best place to start for vintage & paintings! I would also sell them on Mercari and eBay! ☺️
@@adivaonadime Thank You
So what do you do when the PUBLISH button does not show up? Have been going round and round in circles for far too long trying to get a draft listing to go live and not a single stupid clue visible.
I have had this happen a few times. I had to close out and start the listing over. This helped me in the past
Do you use your personal fb account, or have you created a different one just for marketplace?
I use my personal account
@@adivaonadime Thanks. I was wondering that, also. It was a nice feature that you can exclude your "friends." I like that.
Ok in looking at your item my items do not show the ( shipping price) & ( date of arrival) to the customers. Or where to add to cart or buy. I’m just as a lose as to what I’m doing wrong. Please help if you know. Should I change something in my Facebook settings? Thank you ! Leslye
I am very sorry that is happening! I really don't know what happened with your listings. Were you able to ship previously and then this happened? I would check with the listings to ensure that it doesn't have local pickup selected.
@@adivaonadime thank you Amber ! I did go back through my listing all say shipping only. But I did find out that it is happening to many people. And it was around 3 months ago that this happened. We had been selling and shipped out orders with good ratings and suddenly no sales. About 3 months ago. I have buyers messaging me wanting to buy items but need them to ship because they live far away and they just is no option. And you know how selling locally it will say ( door pick up) or ( meet in person) our listings don’t say that. Just no where is there an option to (buy now ) or (add to cart ). I have been concerned about it. But I was still making daily eBay & Mercari sales. The occasional posh sale. But now I ready to give it the attention it needs to solve the problem. I read comments from others with the same problem and I tried to shop on Facebook to buy shipping items only. All of the things I wanted to purchase did not give any way to purchase them. I would message the seller. And they were just as confused as me. I know this is a big deal. A huge issue. There are lists of scammers out there I wonder if they have done something to Facebook to keep them from having this online selling platform. Just a thought. I hope you get it figured out. It should get you some good videos as many Facebook online sellers are hoping to find out what happened to their accounts. Thanks again! Leslye
I hope you can help. For years, I always sold my items on Yard Sale Groups that I joined but a month ago, I tried to post an item to sell and I received this message: "This content isn't available right now. When this happens, its usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or its been deleted." I have a feeling that I may have changed a setting by mistake. Can you tell me the settings that are required that would allow me to post an item for sale ? Thank you.
Hi - I am very sorry for the delay in my reply. I have no idea about the settings or online groups. I sell via their platform and not through groups so I'm not sure about the group part.
Hi Thanks for sharing,
Is there a fee to sell on FB?
There isn't a fee to list the items but they do take a small fee out when your items sell. You can list as many items as you'd like for free! They deduct a small fee automatically in your payout from the sold items!
Do you need an LLC to sell on FB Marketplace or just your SS and a Bank?
You can just use your SSN and bank account 💗
What about the boost listing after publish? Should we enabled that or leave it off?
The boost listing that charges a small fee? I never do that / will never do that
@@adivaonadime you are the best! Thank you
What if I don’t want to sell items from my home? What are the best and safe options?
Are you talking about meeting locally to sell? If so, pick a location that is safe and nearby. You can also meet at a police station if you'd like. I meet at a gas station that is always very busy so I know people will be there and I never go at night. I hope this helps! :)
Do you have to put your social security number or fill out a tax form
Yes
my ads don't show the question at the bottom like, IS THIS ITEM STILL AVAILABLE? why? thanks
Hi! I am not sure - some people have reached out that their display is different than mine?
For shipping on fb marketplace do I have to ship the item physically or can someone else ship for me. Honestly I'm not interested in shipping. Or is there a way to sell without shipping
Yes, you would have to ship the items yourself if you offer shipping. You can see on FBM locally and meet the people or do porch pickups for items if you prefer not to ship :)
Are you using your personal FB account or a FB Business page ?
Personal 🩷
I sold a dining room table and chairs. They came with a truck to pick it up.
That's awesome! I love how you can sell almost anything on this platform!! :)
So how about payment? How customers paying you?
FB handles payments and then direct deposit into your bank account
Hello , Mrs. Dawn I have been selling here on Facebook Marketplace but only locally but never shipped can i use my cash app to get paid or do I need Paypal or both and does Facebook provide the paypal account to transfer to my cash app account
Hi! You don’t need to have PayPal or cash app. You have to have a valid bank account and that’s where Facebook will transfer your money to. They handle everything with the payment and then automatically transfer $ into your bank acct a few days after the item has been delivered.
@@adivaonadime Thank you Mrs . Dawn very much , have a great day
How do payment transactions work?
Facebook handles all payments. You do provide your bank account info to FB. They collect the payment from the buyer. Once the item has been shipped and delivered, they do a direct deposit into your bank account.
What if I were to accidentally forget to ship the item, will I be penalized
They give you a grace period of 3 days (I think) to ship the item. If it hasn’t shipped in 7 days then I think they will cancel the order
Thank you for the information. Four questions: 1. What to do if you want the sale to be pick up only? 2. How to be specific up where pick up takes place? 3. How do you get paid for the item(s)? 4. How to change the area if it comes up incorrectly? Thank you
You're welcome! If you want the item to be pickup only, you will select that option during the shipping info page. You would select local pickup only instead of changing to shipping. You and your buyer can chat on FB to arrange a place to meet locally. Typically the buyer always asks me where to meet so I have a safe place that I meet local buyers near my house. If you are meeting locally, you can accept cash or Venmo. I have more people wanting to pay via Venmo (it directly deposits to your bank account!) If you are shipping, FB will deposit into your bank account typically 5 days after the item is delivered. They collect payment on orders that are for shipping and also provide the buyers address and generate a label for you! The area is a general guide - mine isn't accurate and the buyers don't seem to mind. If it is way off, you can change it directly in the listing. The buyers will message me to ask where I am located (even with the general guide map). Hope this helps!! :)
@@adivaonadime Thank you so much. You made it so much easier for me to try and do this. However, the only problem I have encountered is changing to local pick up. It appears to be grayed out and when I click on it, does nothing. Is there anything that I am doing wrong that will not allow me to use that function. Thanks again.
@@adivaonadime thank you so much. All set 🙂
@@beverlywashington7616 yay I’m glad to hear that!!
Do buyers have to be enrolled in Facebook to buy?
I don’t know 100% but I would say yes. They would have to have a Facebook account to purchase on Facebook.
How do people get ratings as a seller?
After someone buys something from you, they have the option to rate you!
Your Listing Preview As you create your listing, you can preview how it will appear to others on Marketplace, cannot view
I wouldn't worry about that - I hardly ever look at that while listing.
What is the best way to receive payments on market place?
Through Facebook if you’re shipping. I use Venmo or cash when meeting locally
Is it safe to put credit card info in as payment method? It will not allow me to add paypal.
What about Facebook payment protection. How do you withdraw your earnings on Facebook marketplace?
FB automatically deposits the money into your account 3-5 days after your item has been delivered
@@adivaonadime so if you are dropshipping, you have to buy and ship the order with your money, and get reimbursed later? Is there a way to access your payout on the go to purchase inventory?
@@Kingco245 I only sell inventory I actually have so I can’t answer that for you. The payouts aren’t given until the item has been delivered
each inquery shows up as a group chat? "created a group chat" is that normal?
Yes that is normal :)
I can not post even I have created money acoounts after I posted firt time my account is lmmediatly suspended what is the reason and how can i solve such problem
I think you can only have one account for the marketplace
How is the money transferred !!
It is automatically deposited into your bank account after the package is delivered
What about returns and refunds ?
I don’t accept returns. I have issued a partial refund when they bought a bundle of items and one item has already sold. You have access to that directly on the order page with the buyers info/print label, etc
I'm having trouble adding my bank not sure how
Were you able to add the bank account?
IF YOU POST SOMETHING ON FACEBOOK MARKET PLACE FOR SALE AS SHIPPING HOW TO THE OPERSON BUYING IT PAY YOU
It’s all through Facebook. They handle getting the payment, address, etc. you get paid once it is delivered
Hi there,Im interested in how you receive the money from a selling on facebook ,you send the product and you are in possession of money when, what happens if that person is not happy with that purchase??? Thank you
Facebook handles the payment for both the buyer and seller. They will do a direct deposit into your bank account once it has been delivered (usually around 3-5 days after it has been delivered).
I need an Answer please..👍
@@adivaonadime Thank you so much for your time and answer
It doesn’t give me the page to do shipping?
Make sure you select from the drop down to do shipping and not local only!
Does the customer have a certain amount of time to return any item?
I don't accept returns on FB
I don't think that is a good idea !! If someone receive the wrong merchandise, they can't send it back because of your policies.
you lose out every time in a C
ourt of law..
Please help me. My phone won’t verify. Why
Hi love! What do you mean your phone won't verify? I'm not sure what isn't working! Let me know and I will try to help!
I didnt hear you tell how to get to the location that you want to sell in.
It automatically puts your location (based off your address maybe?) but you have the option to change it if you're doing local pickup (at the end of the listing)
