@@WingsOfASong i never met somebody with my exact type of adhd until i came across neil it was almost surreal. the amount of times he's said something out loud that i was just thinking bc my brain went the same place is sometimes spooky
The version I heard was that they would just cut off the middle finger, and that’s where we got the flipping the bird hand gesture. So there might be some truth in there, but seems to be more apocrypha than anything.
Finding out a rude gesture here I grew up using (from Northern Ireland) has its origins in taunting French is the most British thing ever. We haven’t thought a war against each other in hundreds of years and we still hate each other (we’ll hate is probably a strong word for it more like a rivalry between two friends that get super competitive with each other… probably closer to that)
What was your favorite part/story?
Dad in London story 😂
Dad story
Dad in London story and the Neil is weird but he is his favorite weird child
I love that Neil's dad told Tom that Neil was the family's favorite weirdo 😻😹
I wish my parents where so cool. My mom called me her 'thing' to others.

Oof. My dad introduced himself to my BF with the line 'so there really is someone for everyone'.
Omg that's horrible! I'm so sorry.
I’m the weirdo in the family too and the funny person in the family
i feel like neil's dad has the opposite personality to him but the exact same kind of adhd (lovingly, as someone w/ adhd)
Oh my God the ADHD is so palpable in him it's both validating and adorable

I wish Neil was my history teacher hhahahah I can focus so easily when he is explaining it
same i love when he does history lessons.
I heard the two-finger longbow story from my English teacher... I also heard somewhere it was apocryphal...
i guess we will never know. I'd like to think its true though lol.
