- The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is a luxury sport coupe and the most hardcore, track-focused Cayman to date. In this video, Alistair Weaver from Edmunds gets behind the wheel of the 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS to see just how well it performs out on the track. Alistair pushes the Cayman GT4 RS to the limit to see if the 493-horsepower sports car can really do 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds as Porsche says. Can the 718 GT4 RS live up to the hype of being called the purest track version of the Cayman? Alistair and his team are here to find out. This is our instrumented test of the 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS.

What do you think of this ultimate Cayman and its ultimate $143,050 price? Would you get a 911 instead?
I think MSRP went to 150k recently... still would buy before ADM
What a bargain!
No! I had a 987.2 and wish I'd kept it. What's the market for used internal organs bring? I've got a couple extra.
@@TexasRiverRat31254 I had a 987.2 for 11 years and 130,000 miles :)
‘It’s almost like you’re wearing the engine like a back pack’.
Golden!
I always get the same two reactions when seeing a Porsche.
First is awe and excitement.
Next comes the sticker shock.
Best car ever made replacing the LFA, let me explain.
An LFA was a masterpiece because they spent billions to prove a point and they did, money no option they gave us a best sounding engine ever made.
This GT4 RS just has it all although they left 10% on the table because of the GT3 but they just made this to make car enthusiasts happy and we really are happy and sad 😂😭
I'm undecided if I should get this or a super sexy 2011 Chevy HHR. Tough decision man!
The Chevy just edges it but it's close.
Great review!!! What track did you use??
I love those seats, have them in my 981 gt4. Very comfy for me
“Our tight and twisty circuit”? Y’all are at the Porsche Experience Center in Carson CA reviewing one of their greatest products released as of late. I wish you would be more exact. eg 3247lbs. Full tank of gas, all fluids? Thank you.
Its not that deep
To put it in proper perspective OSHA says 85 db averaged over an 8-hour period then you need hearing protection. So little blirps to 105 db is not hazardous unless it averages out to more than 85 db over 8 hours. I would think it would be way more hazardous to buy one of these without consulting the wife, than listening to the music that engine produces.
That’s not how it works.
Who needs a wife when you can have a car like this. You'd have to beat the gold diggers off with a big **ick.
Thank you. That was inspiring.
Awesome 👦🏻👍🏻🏎️🏁🏞️⛰️
what did the G meter say in the car, those G readings seem VERY low. Just done a track day ina normal 718 GT and got 1.3g.
I presume they done the test on turns that arn’t wide which explains the low numbers, but since its narrowed and measured explains why the STO and others are also low but measurable and can compare cars togather
GT4RS club sport should be PDK but the street car should be optionally a manual
the exhaust sounds like the car is actually alive, and angry
This is an amazing car. As a Porsche 718 Cayman S owner it is to bad that we/you and i cant by this sound racing machine. My local Porsche dealer get one car to have in there inventory late 2022.
Summary - simply spectacular!
The braking result is down to the Cup 2R
I find it hilarious when people who've never raced real karts compare a road car to one. They fracture ribs under cornering. Now compare that to the measley 1.18 g generated by the Cayman 🤭
I've raced karts and damaged my ribs! 😇
You guys forget to mention the cars greatest ability…. artificially limited production. My dealer offered the car at $75k over sticker.
Nah, they don't do it on purpose. They make as many as the tools last.
That's the amazing part, they've convinced people it's not artificial..... Remember years ago when AP commented on the importance of creating demand... creating demand
spyder plz
Sorry. Just an impatient viewer, you can’t please everyone. Thanks for the content though.
19:51 I think I might add this to Meh, Street R.I.C.E.r.
Practically sitting on the $200,000 car😂😂😂
Is this an honest review or a porsche commercial?
damage yr hearing ?
didn’t know that!
strange that Porsche delivers such a car ….
Ive been in some expensive cars, with that being said i never jumped into a 100k car that thought was worth it, let alone a 200k plain stupid.
Don't lean on the car.
PORCHE🥰
I would take a manual GT3 over this all day long.
Talk about having zero chemistry with one another. This is one of the most boring reviews I've seen for such an exciting car.
They're just missing Carlos. When he drove the Porsche he was about to nut, lol
An electric Cayman? That's just stupid
Why do you think so?
@@l-charge8438 Well, the Cayman is famous for being a mid-engine vehicle. Are they going to stick batteries where the engine is currently? Most auto makers are going with flat battery packs that make their platforms more versatile. Just seems weird--the world STILL needs awesome, gas-powered vehicles. I'll always want them
@@paulstring yes, they do, it will become really special, the Battery will be where the engine currently is. The goal is a 1500kg 50:50, starting with a 400HP, at the end absolutely not stupid.
@@derbender9264 Well, it's not for me then.
@@paulstring yeah it's hard to change motorsport from best noise to no noise...but I think we don't have a choice do we? F1 still makes noise and the formula E is sterile. If there is a formula for an exciting electric sportscar - Porsche will figure it out first. The sound of a flat 6 up to 9k - well that will be history.... and this kind of cars need to be taken care of.
They are rarer than rocking horse shit, impossible to buy.
So for the lucky few they are all sold.
So not much point reviewing cars we can't buy.
If Joe Biden keeps screwing up your economy, gas prices will be so high, these sort of cars will get killed off, as happened in the UK in 1972 (but that was only temporary). With the 0-60mph time, one reviewer (Remove before Race) did it in 2.96 whereas you slid your way to 3.5. I don't think you are correct in saying the GT4 does 3.8 in manual, as I have one and the Porsche quoted figure is 4.4. Anyway, thanks for making us pine for a superb RS car.
Its not Joe Biden mate - it is the global economy, easy to point finger. We are happy to have him right now, imagine we would have the orange guy in the office with 2 real crises in parallel, then we would have been seriously fffd.
@@bavariancarenthusiast2722 2 real crises? You have had many since Joe Biden was elected. Not to mention all the cover ups over his finances and Hunter Biden!
@@easyrider7021 yeah real crises there were more, regarding the "cover ups" that was a joke compared to the corrupt nepotism of the former guy.
Corruption of any sort is not a joke. Anyway let’s just enjoy our cars. Sounds like you are stuck with BMW and their strange designs, though the M4 GT3 is ominous and purposeful.
@@easyrider7021 Yes please :) no I am not - I like Porsche right now more than BMW, depending on the model though
That bozo doesn’t even pronounce Porsche correctly. No. Just no.
