Getting a stock rustler 2 wheel today. Just kinda starting the hobby so I'm not wanting to break the bank with anything crazy. All around seems like a decent car with a good amount of upgrades.
Great video. For me the big difference between 2 wd vs 4 wd is fun to maintenance ratio. With 2wd it’s about 80% fun and 20% maintenance and with 4wd it’s about 70% to 30%. I like to run my cars in different circumstances ie. Dirt, mud and wet areas. I’m sure you do too. When you get the RC car wet you really need to tear it down more than when you are just in dirt. Rust can kill a car. Using a brush and/or blowing it off with high pressure air does a good job but if it’s muddy you gotta rinse off the mud then run it and then use high pressure air to dry it. Im sure you know that the bearings and some tight areas might not get totally dry. If I’m short on time I’ll rinse off and use high pressure air and then spray with WD40 on any metal and bearings and then try to clean off all the WD40 but it doesn’t all go away. So next time in the dirt it’s a dirt magnet. The best way is to just tear it down. It takes quite a bit more time to tear down my 4wd’s than my 2wd’s. Just my 22 cents! Keep up the good work!👍
Definitely agree with your ratio point! Water definitely kills the bearings, then seized bearings end up wrecking other things. Same can be said with sand. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the comment!
I have the 2wd so so on performance so I recently purchased the 4wd rustler wanna talk about nite & day the 4wd has better handling the performance is very realistic & it rips a hell lot better I highly recommend this badd ass truck thanks for sharing keep it bashin 🤘
Nice comparison video. Next time put the camera on the opposite side of the ramp, so the camera lens is away from the sun to avoid the glare. Never shoot video or still pics into the sun and you'll be good to go. 🤘
@@3DudesRC it’s on Amazon, Esc & Motor was $35 last I saw. Had it for a couple years now & still going strong... MUCH BETTER than the Brushed motor. Can’t ever get it wide open, it just wheelies...
Awesome video as usual!!! I’m hoping to get another car this summer and possibly sell the telluride and the rustlers looks epic! Do u think the 4x4 is worth the extra money over the 2nd?
The 4x4 is definitely nice for powering through the grass. And it can do backflips and front flips off a jump. But if your just doing some general bashing by around your street, then I would go with the 2wd. That’s just my opinion, they are both great trucks! Hope that helps.
@@3DudesRC I keep hearing gorilla tape, duct tape, mesh tape etc.. how time consuming is it to reinforce rc bodies? I only have the rustler and e revo 2.0. Do I NEED hot glue like I’m reading a lot online? Going to hobby shop tomorrow, I could also ask them if I don’t hear back from ya.No idea what differences the drywall tape, fiberglass and duct tapes have
@@michaelrowe5896 The process that I find works best is as follows: 1. Layout the drywall/mesh tape out in strips. 2. Put small dabs of hot glue on each of the pieces of the tape to keep them from sliding around when applying shoo goo. 3. Put on disposable gloves and spread the shoo goo across the whole body. Make sure to work it into the seams. 4. Let it dry and set up over night 5. Reapply more shoo goo to any area of tape that seems thin or wants to peel up. The more shoo goo the better. I mean I compared em🤔 But I get your point I would have liked to do a comparison of them with equal motor setups. Just working with what I have ya know. Thanks for watching Pistol Pete!
Feel free to leave any questions you have in a comment below! I’ll do my best to answer them. Thanks for watching!
Bro you're comparing the rustler 4x4 vxl to the 2wd brushed. Thats not fair!!
Bro you're so right!
Says who? Lowest priced version vs highest priced version. All depends on how you want to look at it and compare them. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! Lol, the bodies never seem to last long!
Ya!😀
What is that on the inside of the 4x4 body?
Fiberglass tape covered with shoo goo. I do it to all of our bodies, helps with durability and longevity!
@3 Dudes RC good idea I’m gonna have to try that thanks!
