    In this recipe, the Fish Roe is of Palla fish that is available for a short period during the monsoons. Palla fish belongs to the herring family and is silver in colour.
    The fish has a lot of thorns or bones but its flesh is very tasty. This fish is most favoured for its Roe. The fish is also used to make curry and the Roe is generally fried and enjoyed as a delicacy.

    Hi, it’s ok to leave the membrane/skein on the eggs? I’m guessing it’s ok since it’s going to be pan fried in high heat. I usually bake my salmon roe with butter and garlic powder on low heat. I also leave the membrane/skein on. Delicious! 🙏🌟

      Hi, this is the roe of Pala Fish available during the monsoons in Mumbai. Pala fish belongs to the Herring family and is also known as Ilishi or Hilsa.😊

      Hi.... never tried it in an airfryer. But you could spray it with oil and air fry.

      Hi Jeol... These eggs are of Hilsa/Pala fish. You get this during monsoon season in Mumbai.

    If you have friends that fish, ask them to save the roe for you. Or go to a seafood store and ask if they have roe.
