What a fantastic collection. Even if you don't use everything at least your hens can enjoy it. I don't feel that's wasting something that way. The same when I throw out stuff to the birds here. It's not wasted.
quick spinach recipe - wash spnach, cut into 1/2 inch strips, (don't add water) just put in pan and cook for 60 seconds until still bright green but wilted. plunge in cold water to stop cooking, squeeze out excess water, mix w a bit of soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, sesame seeds, sake or mirin if you have it. water you squeeze out can of course be added to soup.
If you want to do different things with garlic this is one thing I do. Put peeled cloves in a jar then cover with honey. They will be ready in a couple of weeks. They are great with chicken bake. Your olio veggies look top quality. Great use of the bread, there's so much you can do with them. Thanks Tess
Olio is a really good resource! I am not aware of anything like that in the U.S. where I live. Not sure if spinach is popular in your house, but I love it in a frittata with tomatoes and feta or in soup. Glad to see another video so soon! Even a 5 or 10 min. video is great - to see what you're up to with saving money or your knitting or crocheting or other crafts. It's easier to watch a short video than a longer one when I have to get on with my day or evening. Cheers!
Welcome back. I’m so happy you are posting again. I downloaded the app but there is nothing being offered in my area. I have the Too Good To Go app and have used it many times. I’m always happy with the amount and quality of food that was provided. Say hi to Frugal Jo when you see her. Take care
Wow, that is just lovely. I am a pomegranate lover, and the price dropped from $2.59, to $0.69 each, and I bought more than my share, and ate them all with joy! I am happy that Olio is working so well over there for all of you. It really makes fruits and veggies available - improving the immune system. Win-win.
Awesome food varieties..Have you ever dehydrated the lettuce bags or lettuce in general that you can eat quick enough because they are just as loaded with vitamins and nutrients to add to your green blend..I also learned a really excellent tip and that is to put lettuce, fruit into a canning jar and vacuum seal them they will last literally weeks..I bought 2-lbs of strawberries 2-weeks ago and they look and taste like I just bought them. I also learned to extend the life of avocados is to put in a jar and fill with cold water, make sure the water is above the avocados this will extend their life by a week..I wouldn’t go past a week though or at least in my case as they didn’t go bad..Also another valuable tip if you like avocados and they aren’t ripe just prick the skin a few times with a fork and microwave for 30-seconds this will ripen it and not damage it..
Aww lovely to see you vlogging again Tess. Wow loads of good food. I dont go by dates just use my nose and eyes. Not made my own stuffing for years. xx
We have similar apps over here, great idea 💡 cuz all the food been wasted is ridiculous!! I always say, use your own senses like people did before all this nonsense from people, who live outside this universe

@@Tess-FrugalLiving so lovely that you are back! do make video production as simple as possible - we watch to see and hear you, not tons of B-roll.

What a wonderful haul. There is not much on offer near me but I did get 18 apples the other week.
Every bit is worth having. 🙂

Great tips! I haven't dehydrated salad leaves yet but may well do in the future. X

What fantastic food! Are you friends yet with BeFree BeFrugal? I must tell her about Olio.
We don’t have any apps but do have local food larders. Local being 20 minutes drive 😊
Great 😃👍
Do you still have your hens? They would love some greens if you can't use them quickly before they go bad.
Yes, we do. And they do 😁
