  • Utility trailers are always in use around the ranch and take a real beating. Alec had enough of replacing trailer lights due to road damage so home-made mudflaps were added.

Good idea Alec. And pop rivets are so handy at times. Should be a gun and an assortment of rivvets in every tool box!

They really are. One goes bad, drill out and pop in another. Minimum damage done and fast.

Hi Alec.Happy new year The one thing that comes to mind is if the pop rivets are made of Aluminum then the road salt spray will break them down and let your new mud flap fall off.
Otherwise a great idea for all of us Canadians with a trailer.Take care Owen m

I have not had rivets rust out, knocked out by stones for sure. Each fall when I put the trailer away for winter I do checks and will replace any rivets. That's how I found the damage to my lights. Happy New year Owen and thanks for watching my rants!
