Hello Alec, your system is very interesting. Today, after so much time of watching this video, does the system still work perfectly? I have some questions. If you could answer them, that would be great. What brand/model of the exhaust fan did you use? Is it heat-resistant? Did you have any problems with it? Could you show or explain better how or which thermostat you used to automate the system? How many hot air outlets do you have in this system? Could you show or comment on what these air outlets are like? What is the diameter of the pipe in the outlets? How many cubic meters of area can your system heat? The fan turns on when the fire reaches a certain temperature, and stays on continuously until the fire goes out and drops below a certain temperature. Is there a control that turns the fan off when the house is too hot? What is the insulation of this hot box, made of rock? Is there metal only on the outside of the hot box? On the inside, there is only rock wool insulation near the box where the fire is? Or is there some other material between the insulation and the box where the fire is? I apologize if the questions are obvious or easy, but I am from another country. Thank you very much for your attention.

@@AlecPeirceAtTheRanch yes if you're a hunter it'll wake you up so you can get the deer or moose lol. You don't have to sit outside and wait for it! You probably get more notifications from animals than you do from humans! Some people came and cased my yard out and I had to set up a motion sensor and for one whole month I hardly had any sleep due to animal notifications. A month later the guys finally came back and I was actually awake before the motion sensor warned me. If I wasn't awake it would have woken me up , that or the loud diesel motor in their truck lol. I confronted them and put fear into them lol. Two weeks later I decided to get a better security system! No animal detection's anymore. Just humans or vehicles.

@@AlecPeirceAtTheRanch oh ok. Then its all good. If I were a hunter my motion sensor would help me hunt. I used a doorway light motion sensor as my security system before I upgraded to cameras compatible with fencing and fencing area detection. If anyone or a vehicle crossed the virtual fencing line it beeped until i acknowledge it. The light motion doorway sensor woke me even when a moose or deer walked past it , I hooked an extension cord up to one of the light outputs and whenever it activated it would send power to an alarm radio that I had plugged into the extension cord.

I chose to insulate the floor differently. Instead of insulating on top of the sheathing I insulated below the sheathing between the floor joists. And my critter mesh is attached to the underside of the joists. This saves vertical space. You might say that there's a thermal break because of the floor joists but they are 5-1/2" thick (2x6s) so I figure the break is insignificant.
