I don't own anything. All right goes to the Paramount+ Star Trek
I love the play on the several thousand times Toronto has subbed in for New York City in productions.
Toronto got this, Vancouver got a starship named after it in Lower Decks -- it's a good time to be a Canadian Trek fan.
1:35 Alternate Kirk: I was born in space on the U.S.S. Iowa.
In the Prime timeline in Star Trek IV The Voyage Home.
Dr. Gillian Taylor: Don't tell me! You're from outer space.
Kirk: No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.
Kelvin Timeline Kirk: I was born on the U.S.S. Kelvin. But I lived in Iowa.
William Shatner: born in Canada
You're giving Capt. Janeway a headache!
This was soo funny. I enjoyed this episode.
I love the fact that they dressed him as Stefan Salvatore for a moment
I noticed that. It had to be a reference to stefan 😂
Seeing Kirk order street meat at Harbourfront is the proudest I've ever been as a Toronto Trekker. I just wish he'd put something on it.
Little bit of an inside production joke but usually studios would film in Toronto and call it New York because of the tax breaks
He tapped out “Shave and a Haircut: Two Bits” on his communicator 😂
Love how absolutely nobody worries about their wardrobe, but the first thing our timetravellers do is hitting a clothing store. Star Trek always did a parody of itself - and that´s one of the reasons why I love it!
"Where are your newkwaylar wessels?"
Star Trek IV The Voyage Home. The one where they had to find two whales to talk to a whale probe that was inadvertently damaging Earth while trying to fi d whales to talk to.
The Roots store attached to the Eaton Centre on Yonge St in Toronto
Toronto playing Toronto. What kind of warped reality is this??
maybe the best meta joke in television
@@Olochgu the quip later about everyone talking so slow and quietly was pretty good too.
Ya know, I can’t believe space vehicles / bases don’t have revolving doors, as they are generally meant to control / limit airflow and / or pressurization. The old Pontiac Silverdome, with its inflated fabric roof, had revolving doors for its entrances for this reason. You’d think you’d kinda want something similar in space?
They're great for keeping air-conditioned air in, but if you have a depressurisation in a room with a one-way revolving door, it'll start spinning like mad as air forces its way through
* Alternate Kirk saves SNW timeline...erasing his own from existence.
* Alternate Kirk helps saves the day...but dies...still erasing his own timeline.
* Alternate Kirk saves the day...erasing his timeline...but lives...and goes to SNW timeline. Giving that timeline two Kirks.
(** Original SNW Kirk then dies...and SNW timeline has new new Kirk ftom alternate timeline...that was erased.,)
* Alternate Kirk saves day....erasing his timeline...but stays in past to work against the hated Romulan agents..and creates Section -31...or it's precursor agency.
*** I could do this all day.... lol ***
You can also tell this is Toronto because they went directly to a Roots store.
“I’ve never been here” would have been more ironic if they went and shot on location or at least set the scene in Montreal.
A Leafs reference on Star Trek?
0:47 made me laugh
It still says Ryerson University!!!!
use to be called canada? what happewnd to canada in the 24th century?
There are no "countries", its just "Earth" by then. The land exists, the country does not.
A merger of Canada and The United States?
@@alonenjersey soviet canada
There are no nations on earth in Star Trek.
have they been merged into sections such as in "Rollerball."
Anyone know what store La'an got the jacket from?
Roots it’s a Canadian retail store. They’re hoodies are so comfy but pricey.
Roots Eaton Centre
"Used to be called Canada." The fuck?
Justin Trudeau joke
How are they paying for the cloths ?
They realize it after they try new clothes on, and create a distraction to shoplift.
That's not how James Kirk would act. That is how a spoiled college student would act. And why is everything badly lit in modern TV shows?? Do they have a surplus of blue filters in the their camera storage rooms? Buy Hollywood some better lighting, please, someone!!!
I look more like Kirk than this guy and I look nothing at all like Kirk. Totally miscast on all conceivable levels. Too old, wrong colour hair, wrong build, wrong face, wrong acting style, too tall, doesn't sound like him, doesn' have any of his mannerisms. It's a character called Kirk but is in no way related to the other Star Trek character called Kirk. It's miraculous how completely wrong they got it.
Replaced Kirk with Jim Carry. Wonderful.....
In First Contact, the ship gets you the disguise. Continuity error.
They don't have a ship
Who the hell is this guy supposed to be?
She's a LT, he's a CPT. She is a bit out of line . . . .
Actually she's a lieutenant in StarFleet in her universe, he is a Captain in the United Earth Space Fleet in his alternate universe. So they are in completely different organizations and she does not report to him
@@EquusIV When I was a LT in Germany during the Cold War, I still had to salute British and German CPTs.(and technically would have had to salute Russian Captains assigned to the Soviet Military Liaison Mission).
Not a reporting relationship but she is supporting him on a mission.
Are you seriously comparing cold War era traditions to a fictional future where society has out-evolved the need for money and is so technologically advanced we are practically chimpanzees next to them?
@@JohnMinehan-lx9ts how often did you time travel with those other Nation's Officers?
do they just riff on all scenes from old Star Trek they did the scene better?
Is she always so irritating?
