you have inspired me to convert my small backyard to a food garden, 6 grape vines, 2 dwarf apples, 1 peach, 1 apricot, 3 blueberries, and 2 types of raspberries. I will be adding more each year until the lawnmower is unnecessary... thank you for making these videos. from your neighbor in PA
Love that you are converting your backyard to a food garden, but 6 grape vines is probably way more than you need. A single grape vine will sprawl over an enormous area in only a couple of years.
I did the same, starting five years ago. Suburban backyard. This year I get my first harvest of peaches! I also have raspberries, grapes, blueberries, cherries, apples and just added pear trees. I convert more of my lawn to garden every year and this year did a HUGE section, planting tons of melons and squash. I am so very excited for you, a backyard orchard and garden is genuinely a delicious sanctuary.
Authenticity doesn't get repetitive. If you got blueberries like ping pong balls and cabbages like basketballs, show em :) Glad to see your videos every once in a while James!
Honestly, the harvest videos are my favorite, can't wait to make more of my own. We are moving along the season with James and Tuck. You are 100% correct, authenticity doesn't get repetitive.
Yesterday I watched an old video of yours...you have gained such an audience due to your knowledge and enthusiasm. I wonder if you would have described a large juicy peach as a big butt in the good old days. Too funny! My son, a follower, and I will have a chuckle today! Carolyn/Vermont Cat Lady
James, you've done it my friend. You have me out there growing and harvesting in my own yard. Your attitude and wisdom have been a major boost for me and my wife and I love seeing Tuck out there supervising. 💜 💕 ❤️. Keep it up my brother, Let's Go!
I love when I go into the garden and just grab something fresh and eat it right then and there. They taste sooooo much better than store bought fruit and veggies
Salivating.. I remember the taste of freshly picked peaches, the best.... ahh we had the best orchard in the last place we lived but moved so kids could go to a decent school and now don't even have a garden 😭
Not sure I have ever seen JP this, almost, giddy. You’re an inspiration; I’m chasing in a race I know I’ll never win and feel the joy just the same. thanks, brother!
Love Tuck and love your enthusiasm! Seeing all your beautiful produce and fruit trees, I was wondering if you ever have a problem with squirrels? All your produce looks so beautiful.

You are absolutely the most amazing gardening guy I have watched on UA-cam. No wonder you now have over one million followers. Watching you harvesting all those veggies and fruits today is amazing. I could honestly smell that cabbage as you were harvesting it today. Such beauty in your garden. I so wish I had more space to grow all that you grow. But I have expanded my space more this year. I am preparing for my fall garden as well. Fixing to put out my seedlings for tomatoes, cabbage, and squash. So excited to be growing a fall garden this year.

That’s incredible 😍 I’m so jealous. What variety of peach is that? Is it from Raintree? Wow! Those blueberries are huge 😲 I learned about protecting my fruit the hard way this year. I lost all of my apples and apricots 😔 I will definitely do better from now on. I love your new apparel and will definitely get something. I have my first Sun Gold this year because of you. I have flowers and I can’t wait to try them. Definitely love Tuck💕
I would love to own enough property to have a beautiful bountiful garden like your's James! I enjoy watching how excited you get over your fruit but I would be to. I do have one question though!! Actually, two questions! 1. Do you share the fruit with your camera person?? 😂 2. When you cut your cabbage which I've only grown one kind, how do you prepare the cabbage?? Let us know if you don't mind! Ty! And keep growing and teaching other's how to grow organically!!
I have been gardening for 15 yrs "food", and I found you about 3 yrs ago I have learned so much from you and it has made me a better gardner, so thank you! What a fantastic harvest and theirs nothing like a peach picked right off the branch. You and Tuck will enjoy all the food you cook up .💚💚💚💚💚💚

We had a peach tree when we lived in Utah that must have had about 1000 peaches last summer (if I count those I pruned off in the spring).... They were so good. I bet yours are even better.
Hey James. My family loves you. My son is 14yrs old and he always watches your channel he loves your intro and your love for the garden. Your videos have helped us a lot. those peaches look succulent!😍 I love your excitement & smile when you harvest..love patty pan squash..They are around $15-$18kilo 1000grams in Australia..I like to bring a dipping bowl when I pick my tomatoes with olive oil & salt n pepper....Tuck is gorgeous..😍😍😍💚💙💙💚
Thanks soo much!!! I've started my garden by studying your videos. This was my first year growing, had a rough time with deer when I went on vacation but my super sweets 100s bounced back. Love the show!!
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ love seeing Tuck in your videos and watching him eat his veggies 🥕. Your gardening amazes me and got me trying to grow my own in smart pots because I live on a hill and have no where flat enough to put a garden!
I discovered your channel last year and decided to try a container garden as I don't have space to grow much. I got a ton of paprika and radishes. I got my blueberry late in the season but it also produced really well for its first year. My cucumbers could have been better but I now know I needed more flowers in my garden. Thank you for always being so enthusiastic in your videos. And thank you for the idea of growing tomatoes up a tree. I know exactly what I am going to do with my tomatoes come August or September.
"I just need another bite." Thanks for sharing that experience. ❤️💙💚💛🤎 for Tuck. I appreciate how sensitive you are to his feelings, like when the cucumber went over his head. It just shows how you read his body language well. I'd be interested to know what your watering strategy for your raised beds and in ground veggies looks like. Mulch and rain helps for sure, but is it all you do?
Don’t waste those cabbage leafs on the chickens….layer them and put in your freezer and use them for stuffed cabbage. If you freeze, when they defrost, they are very flexible so you don’t have to blanch for stuffing
G’day James…I am absolutely jealous beyond words, your garden harvest is amazing. Really enjoy your garden tips and tricks, it’s very encouraging. You guys must have great growing conditions in Jersey and with your prep work and knowledge…speechless. ❤️❤️ for Tuck. Hi5 from 🇦🇺
Who knew that peaches grow in NJ! I live in Morris County and I never even considered growing peaches. I always enjoy your harvesting videos. Thanks James!
I think I echo everyone's comments here by saying thank you for the unrelenting inspiration. I covered the remaining grass/weeds in our backyard with paper/mulch almost 2 years ago, preparing the soil, but I was afraid to plant anything because we have lots of chipmunks, squirrels and birds in our backyard. Finally this year we bought 4 tomato plants and 1 cucumber plant and just planted them in. We also got a pepper plant (which didn't produce) and 3 blueberry bushes which we hope will give us some fruit next year. The one cucumber plant is trying to take over the back yard!!! It's awesome! It's just little bit of success that has absolutely inspired me and I will be planting so much more this fall and next year... the tomatoes are doing great as well. One plant produced just 2 tomatoes and I had to cut it off; another one looked like it was sick but is growing back. The two large plants are absolute monsters!! Almost 6 feet in height and are producing like crazy!!!
You were making me laugh with your excitement every time you ate another delicious fruit/tomato/blueberry! Great job! Only wish we could do this here. Too many critters/deer/106 degree heat with no rain. But enjoy seeing the “fruits” of your labor! 🙌👏❤️ 🍅 🍑 🫐
I don’t have your heat (zone 5b) but have have the deer. I have had to put up fencing - nothing fancy t posts with deer netting zip tied to it. I also have a few raised beds with arched 10 ft pvc pipe over it. I zip tie the deer netting to the pvc pipe. No critter gets in that. Could you garden in a cooler part of the year? I have friends in Tx that garden in the ‘cool’ weather Good Luck.
Dude!! Your killing it and your excitement is contagious. Thank you for pushing us backyard gardeners forward!! 😁👍
Thank you my friend. The garden and Tuck are always bringing a smile to my face
