the Philippines have a lot of systemic deficiencies that hamper its economic growth: 1. high cost of electricity and low penetration of electrification. substandard capacity to support large scale manufacturing 2. high cost of internet connection and low penetration. this is one of the most critical elements of any country wishing to join the ranks of a developing nation. the government needs to establish at least 2 more telecoms and allow small independent local government or municipal ISPs 3. poor agricultural infrastructure and support to ensure a viable and profitable agricultural production and food security. the Philippines cannot feed itself without importing food from other countries because its farmers and farming are unprofitable. it needs to mechanize at least to the level of vietnam or Thailand. mass logistics and cold storage and transport for bulk agricultural products is severely lacking or nonexistent 4. it lacks a vertically integrated steel industry, a vertically integrated chemical industry, a defense industry, high precision machine manufacturing industry. its mining industry is hampered by red tape. 5. poorly developed, corrupt and inefficient justice system. the poor or disadvantaged have no practical chance of getting a fair or fast trial or appeal. they have even arbitration outside the court system that is a practical guarantee of an unfair outcome 6. they need to remove noncompete agreements and nondisclosure agreements in labor contracts to ensure innovation. this is the reason why California is the center of innovation; noncompete agreements are void and unenforceable. 7. they need to modify software patents to cover 3 years only, hardware to 15 and medical patents to 15. copyrights should only be protected to 50 years. they also need to ensure digital privacy and guarantee of digital ownership of personal information and effects that is protected against direct or indirect searches, seizures, or interdiction without a court-issued warrant
Imagine all those negatives you stated and the country is still developing nicely. The greatest thing Philippines has going for it is it's young demographic and a birthrate of almost 3. So many countries are suffering from population decline and it will cripple their economy.
@@gregmasters8558 yes. These are systemic deficiencies, but they are addressing some of these especially the infrastructure. I hope they revive and expand tramcars in the provinces outside manila for local transportation.
The emergence of the AI Technology will definitely put a dent on the BPO (Call centers) services, strong local consumption is critical to a country's economic engine & to sustain growth. We know that economies that are export reliant will be at the mercy of the consumption rate of others. Economy has a big direct relations with population size and the emergence and adaptation of technologies thru education of its citizenry, infrastructure and good governance. Percentage metrics of growth is not really a complete picture as each country has different levels/foundation of economy (e.g Singapore's 1% growth can be greater vs Laos 5% growth).
Impossible. AI was tested on how he interacts stress costumers was really meh and failed. Ai has no compassion on assisting and handling moody clients with their repetitive answer.. Thats why too much complaints on queu.many abandon on AI assistance at customer service and which can affect companies reputation and its business conditions.AI is still limited by any means. Thats the truth.
Growth percentage is important. Its because long term all necessities costs are increasing, inflation, any outbreaks in the middle will suffer people lives and the population is also increasing.you must find ways to grow more to cope up this problems.continuous growth is really a must.
@@dextershaman7154 todays level of AI yes, but with the rate that tech is growing...eventually it will catch-up. Its effect is so profound that even the WEF folks has already written down jobs that may be displaced by AI. Ever wonder why the "Universal Basic Income" project is being done today? I think AI is just a program and nothing more. if someone is smart enough people actually feed AI with false information and make it the legitimate one. so, it will not be going to be reliable. maybe automating something, just like other applications.

Fastest GDP doesn't mean anything if you stay poor. Singapore is too wealthy of a country that it has so little for growth. The reason why the Philippines' growth is huge as compared to other countries is because it's so poor. This GDP thingy is overly-romanticized by the media. Real growth starts in education. If the level of education grows, so as the whole nation.
There is a massive change in the Philippines. Also look at the bigger picture, most countries have a shrinking population with low fertility rate which will shrink their economy. I see a good future for Philippines with their young population midian age of 24 and average fertility rate.
@@gregmasters8558 I see that too. But the same can be said for other Southeast Asian countries. Specially Vietnam and Thailand. Technically, all SEA countries are developing at a rapid pace. GDP is just the peak of the iceberg.

This indicator is substantially not a good indicator that individual Filipinos lives will becoming better as the increase on economic activity is simply the result of bigger population and higher capitalism. It's only giving false hope or we say deceiving perception on the side of many ordinary Filipinos that their lives will be getting better. The fact is the per capita of Filipinos is a halfway in middle and bottom rankings and in comparison to its neighbor Philippines is one of the lowest in South East Asia. Per capital the economic worth generated by each individual. Its a big indicator of individual competitiveness and collective confidence of many economic indicators. One thing is income equality between rich and poor. Philippine is halfway in middle to bottom rankings. Income equality is the disparity between rich and poor. Its so obvious that rich people and corrupt people in the country are becoming more rich and many middle income people are becoming poor except those corrupt people as they go the other way around and poor will always be poor. Yet it so pity for the poor the they though that they are becoming rich yet they are not aware the their income value is merely a result of inflation and their so called lifestyle comfortness is merely result of the infrastructure invested by few rich people and poor people are not aware how much money rich people take away from these investments or should I say corrupt officials get from these investments. Is so pity the 3rd world countries highlight more the collective GDP rather then real economic indicators which are the per capita and income equality. I guess its the propaganda solution that 3rd world countries governments to not to get all the blame and humilation from its people.
Troll how do you explain those countries with higher GDP per Capita and yet with so many cases of homelessness. Their citizens despite having jobs and all are forced to dwell in the streets and chose to migrate in countries with less GDP per Capita imao 😂
Just like brunei grest per capita but majority living poor and infras are inferior and usas and canafa bothgood per capita. ButTheirpeople are struggling day to day living.
GDP per Capita is not always a good indicator. Look at Laos it's GDP per Capita is higher than Cambodia but in reality it's the poorest in Southeast Asia.
The wealth of a country is measured in terms of GDP. Higher GDP means the government ability to invest in infrastructures and social services to increase the level of standard of living. The wealth of its citizens is measured in terms of GDP per capita income. It is also a measure of country's standard of living. BOTH are important.

It's fast but we could've done better than that if we had an competent leader with knowledge in economics.
Congrats the Philippines.
Thailand slowdown due to early success of population control as well as automotive industry which has not grown much.
Thailand is the slowest growing major economy in Southeast Asia for the past 20 years (2004-2023)
Vajilongkorn reign as king probably effect to where population getting older economy just around royal and elites
the Philippines have a lot of systemic deficiencies that hamper its economic growth:
1. high cost of electricity and low penetration of electrification. substandard capacity to support large scale manufacturing
2. high cost of internet connection and low penetration. this is one of the most critical elements of any country wishing to join the ranks of a developing nation. the government needs to establish at least 2 more telecoms and allow small independent local government or municipal ISPs
3. poor agricultural infrastructure and support to ensure a viable and profitable agricultural production and food security. the Philippines cannot feed itself without importing food from other countries because its farmers and farming are unprofitable. it needs to mechanize at least to the level of vietnam or Thailand. mass logistics and cold storage and transport for bulk agricultural products is severely lacking or nonexistent
4. it lacks a vertically integrated steel industry, a vertically integrated chemical industry, a defense industry, high precision machine manufacturing industry. its mining industry is hampered by red tape.
5. poorly developed, corrupt and inefficient justice system. the poor or disadvantaged have no practical chance of getting a fair or fast trial or appeal. they have even arbitration outside the court system that is a practical guarantee of an unfair outcome
6. they need to remove noncompete agreements and nondisclosure agreements in labor contracts to ensure innovation. this is the reason why California is the center of innovation; noncompete agreements are void and unenforceable.
7. they need to modify software patents to cover 3 years only, hardware to 15 and medical patents to 15. copyrights should only be protected to 50 years. they also need to ensure digital privacy and guarantee of digital ownership of personal information and effects that is protected against direct or indirect searches, seizures, or interdiction without a court-issued warrant

Try to link this both.
I think AI is just a program and nothing more. if someone is smart enough people actually feed AI with false information and make it the legitimate one. so, it will not be going to be reliable. maybe automating something, just like other applications.

Omg, if you look the philippines now development is growing faster. Theres a lot megaprohects. Look at thailand , they have no crntral business districts. We have many modern cbds now. Thailands population is decreasing. Phil is no worry on increasing population because we are actually in demand overseas wotld class overseas workers all around the world. So our economy s growth is increasing. Thailands gdp is just only less than 100M with vietnam.this is not big diffrence. Philippines has a lot of option to boost the economy compared othersea nation.
Philippinès has now many modern cbds. Thailand has none.we already proved that but not whole areas.our top 5 billionare are on real state sector no problem. But the infras and mexicare are still inadequate..we have now subway, bridges expressways in progresss.

GDP is just the peak of the iceberg.

its " GDP per CAPITA" that matters in the end.
GDP per Capita is worthless if the rent and and prices of major commodities are high as well.. that's the problems of the west thus resulting to homelessness despite having jobs
@@richardnuevo the same could be said about overall GDP if its not distributed to the population. But in the Philippines case GDP is still too small relative to 100 million Filipinos here.
Gdp growth is important. Look at brunei they have great gdp per capita but still majority living poor and no great devopment on infras due to govt control all business srctors no competiton. Phil is not worry on increasing population. Because they can abroad easily due to high demand on filipino workers all over the world.
To greater extent, yes. But you can't have it unless the GDP is increased and the population is controlled.
There are many factors to consider.
Country have brighter future if gdp growth high

Philipines is number one in asean
Keep dreaming.
The Philippines will SURPASS Thailand's Economy by 2028: That is if we surpass Thailand's tourism. We still have less than half of the tourists visiting Thailand. As of 2023, Thailand had 28,000,000 foreign tourists while Philippines had 5,450,557. Ni wala pa tayo sa 1/4 man lang. Hopefully and we should manifest it na lalo pang magbu-boom and tourism ng Pilipinas. Kung hindi man mangyari yon, bawi nalang tayo sa ibang sector like Service and Digital economy kasi dun tayo malakas compare other SEA countries.

Let's Go beyond ASEAN we are becoming Rich in the world. Let's help Timor Liste to caught up. ❤
