Is the Cyclone external combustion engine a scam

- On this channel we have talked about many weird and wonderful engines, each one unique. You see I love engines, and I love cars so when I see a cool new, or weird take on the combustion engine I like to make videos on them. Well a few weeks ago I made a video on the Cyclone External combustion engine.
Now the idea behind the engine is really quite cool, it’s a steam engine that can use any fuel to heat up water, the steam gets released into the cylinders causing compression which then in turn moves the pistons, and turns the crankshaft. Now this idea is really cool because according to there Dyno results the engine produces insane amounts of torque at almost 0 Rpm, and since it can run on anyfuel its green, because you can use biomass to fuel it.
Well at the end of the video I said this.
As if now no engines have been deliver to customers, the engines have not been used in any commercial cars, and in-fact the company has not made any updates since 2016. Which is weird if the engine really does all these great things why did it not take of?
Now obviously I had a bunch of comments stating that oil giants killed of the engine and all of that, but some comments that cached my eye where from people claiming that this engine was just a huge scam. So I felt like I needed to investigate and see if I can find any prove of the company’s legitimacy or on the other side any prove of them stealing from investors.
Now Cyclone power does more than the steam engine they have a few concepts all of which we will look into.
#steam #cyclone #externalcombustion #engine
I saw this engine a long time ago and was excited about how it worked. No oil, no preheat, no steam exhaust. I wondered why it was never shown powering a vehicle. The steam powered land speed record videos disappeared from their website. Now it pretty much shows you nothing. Very disappointing to find out it probably a scam. I never really expected it to go into widespread production because oil companies would not allow it. He would end up dead pretty quick.
Totally scam, Cyclone was never a legitimate company
I think it could work if some of these builders on UA-cam with their CAD programs & 3-D printers & such put their heads together & reverse engineered it. The question is, would they be allowed to do it legally? Oil companies don't seem to care if you show people how to do something at home. They don't like it if you seem to be gearing up to produce something that will compete with them for significant money.
@@detrechrats I mean, you can just make it without cad or 3d printing, you just need tubings and the correct engine parts. The problem in this project was mostly the technology used, the burner and engine are very innefficient, and I'd think about revising the boiler in its entirety and the engine into a turbine. The condenser is also too optimistic, it needed to be bigger to work.
If it is dead in the water could someone use their ideas? It looks like it wouldn't be that hard to make it work. They probably exaggerated the performance as scams are in the habit of doing but there were some very attractive things about it like the closed loop water system & the compact design.
The problem is that nowadays, petrol and diesel are available pretty much anywhere, so external combustion engines have basically no advantages over ICE.
until we remove the boom and only use steam .. a.k.a Electric kettles.....a farmer once said "One day the world will run on cows milk!" 1 latte grande please
DOBLE!
Cyclone wasn't a scam but the naive investors who gave Harry Schoell the money are to blame. The premise was that water lubricated ceramic bearings can eliminate the need for steam oil. The Cyclone engine wore quickly and could never have been more than a toy.
What is this engine? Can you explain what are the advantages?
HARRY SCHOELL is a crook and a conman
Cyclone was nothing but a SCAM!
@@Mert-qm8ub radial engine with critical water/deionized water as lubricant and power. The water didn't work as lubricant enough and the engine wore down critically after a few hours running
The cyclone engine shown looks suspiciously like the internal pump for an Oxygen cylinder pump I have in my garage with a few pieces added. I say it’s highly suspect.
Classified!
based on a few proven and a lot unproven (bassicly the ones where people disappeared)
More likely,
A. He got buried by the big Corporate... legally or deadly
B. It was so Advanced the Government took it! yo they do that. especially after a Darpa contract
c. He got the co-Vid and has been out for a few.
D. he died! he could have just tripped and bam
E. ALIENS OUTER SPACE... Not sure if true but then again x file away this one!
All of the Cyclone engines were fake, cheap props cobbled together from old junk and used to scam gullible investors.
People just need to make it themselves.
Doesn't work, any first year engineering student can see this.
I think it had to do with the possibility of a patent dispute.
Biomass Syngas technology also needs to be investigated.. it also disappeared like cyclone..
Ill look into it👍🏻
@@ChrisVSCars please do 🤝🏻
The darpa part I heard goes hand in hand with the silence
Cyclone had nothing to do with the Darpa contract, it's all lies.
I had high hopes for these guys... even though I knew the tech was questionable, at best. For Pete's sake... their crank was held together with Robertson screws 🤦♂️
Yep, it's a scam. Those shares i bought are worthless.
I lost an investment in this company I bought the penny stock and about six months ago the stock stopped trading
A problem is, even if it’s not a scam, for commercial use, although it’s not polluting, it will block your and others vision because of all the steam coming out of it and it makes it hard to navigate, unless they ever made a solution for that
not necessarily, just a condenser tube/exhaust would be more than enough. Heavy construction equipment still billows out plumes of lingering black smoke and nobody bats an eye
@@THESLlCK ah ok, that’s a relief
The new motor is a closed system that recirculates the steam like an A/C unit
There is no steam coming out of it, it is a closed system.
Just used laser lights to make the steam
If the laser is self powered sure, if it needs electricity then it's just a battery powered engine
Steam as a medium for a heat engine is doomed to fail -- it can only manage about 10% thermodynamic efficiency, no matter what you do (anything higher requires insane pressures). That's why Diesel took over from steam on the rails, and in turn is being replaced by electric traction. So even if this engine were real, it's not a step forwards.
diesel-electric hybrid is the way to go
I think the scammer is here!!
When I first saw this engine I didn't really pay it much attention as it just has too many moving parts for my liking when compared to a properly built rotary engine with all the design flaws that went in to production taken out. If I can ever get to the point were I am able to start building the rotary engines properly there will be no other engine in the world that can match it due to it having 270° of compression. It's also the easiest engine to convert to running on hydrogen since there are no valves. If you want to know what the flaws where of the rotary engine that went into production just watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/GarCJ4zw_mk/v-deo.html
Why Mazda hasn't produced the engine is beyond me but I can see this mechanic solved the issues with the rotary engine.
Maybe he got injured really bad
Ernie Brink was a crackpot and a con man, he died from alcoholism
Speed is fun but So is Pulling .. need this in a Country man tractor pull
What's going to turn this around is Electricity. A system to heat the Liquid to its gaseous vapor state that uses electricity.. maybe a waist heat Peltier tile tank who knows!
Oh i wasted my time to watch cyclone video
