The idea of these videos is to give a "realistic" view on the whole process involved in making an instrument and not just the "fun" part, as well as showing how much attention to detail and time is necessary during every step of the construction.
These videos take a long time to make so comment, like, subscribe if you like them so I know to keep making more!

Beautiful dense flames!
Thanks! Glad you like it :)
Bravo!
Thank you very much :)
Lucas, good job!!! Is this oil varnishing or alcohol varnishing?
Thank you very much and sorry for the late reply!
The varnish is alcohol based.
So it takes 9 minutes and 7 seconds to varnish a cello. That's good to know.
Cosmin nah, you also need to add the minutes it takes for the brushes to soften and then the extra time to clean them! 😜
Ciao Lucas... Una domanda... Con lo stoppino lucidi o uniformi?
Ciao!
Entrambe le cose :)
It's "that" video! Yay! :-D
It looks great! I do have a lot of questions, of course, but maybe it's easier on IG messages? :-P
I’ll send you the whole stuff, a loooot more and much more annoying. Here I had to select only some files (randomly) except for the ones where I was watching stuff or listening to music as it didn’t look professional :p
Oh, lucky me! :-D
And yeah, I get the picking out thing. And I bet that's why some shots don't have sound ;-)
You can't really just work iin a quiet environment all the way through just to get the shot. You're making instruments, not videos, so sometimes you'll have to sacrifice a shot. I know I've done that a lot at least. I kind of wanted to make some videos at some point, but it took focus away from making or didn't look good, so I just stopped filming for the most part.
One thing I find both confusing and fascinating is the change of colour with the lighting. It does make it difficult to figure out exactly what is being applied, but it demonstrates better than any other video I've seen just how lively a nice varnish is :-D
Yep, I didn’t even watch my own video tbh, haha. But while editing if I saw there was too much sound I knew it was from all those stuff so I erased it.
It’s amazing how much it changes with different light, and yes, I think that’s something that happens when you have a really transparent varnish instead of a thick “coat” of plastic varnish.
Most of the retouches and varnishing I like doing under the direct sunlight but at the same time it’s the less “realistic” approach to how the instrument will look like, because let’s face it, no musician will be playing under direct sunlight haha.
Yes, exactly!
I know that I don't have much experience, but for retouches I definitely prefer overcast daylight, not direct sunlight. I will also try to look at it under artificial light, but generally I think real daylight is the best for matching colours.
I wish someday I could also be a luthier
You’re always on time to do it! Work hard for it :)
