Thanks for a great video. Being a fan of small unit tactical games but not a miniatures player the videos helped tremendously. I've been to Gettysburg half a dozen times and have a strong interest in that battle so I purchased the game and so far it's excellent. I hope that Hermann moves forward with his Antietam follow-up.
I ordered this game the instant I discovered it existed. Hermann Luttmann is, for me, one of those designers/design teams that have my attention immediately in the hobby on anything they are working on. Particularly ACW. Hermann Luttmann and Mark Herman both, regarding ACW. It's almost like a rebirth of the ACW genre right now, because there are some other really great ACW designs that have emerged in recent years. Brothers at War by Christopher Moeller with Compass Games, for example, to mention another one. While GBACW continues produce content. It is a very good time for ACW in the hobby, with some really amazing people bringing the period to life in games that are accessible to new players.
Great video! I agree with you on all points. I seriously love this system too. It's really spot on at the tactical level for this type of combat. My pick for wargame of the year! You really need to play head to head with the cards! It really shines that way.
Nice job Wayne, the hybrid nature of the game is very appealing. Play does take a bit of time getting used to. I’m looking forward to more titles in the series.
This is the first wargame I've bought in about 10 years, in delivery now. As expected, it seems like a really good choice. Consider getting metal dice, especially a 00-90 and a 0-9 for this. Very very cool! But coolest of all is a metal 100 sided die. Mine's just arrived and it's like a little cannonball. Got it especially for this game. Thank you to Mr Luttman for providing a timely excuse. 😀 And a really useful overview - glad I found your channel recently. Keep up the good work. 👍
