I totally agree with you about the type of podcasts I watch. I also love the life updates, because even though you don’t don’t know me, I feel like I know you 😂 which is a strange concept when you think about it 🤔. You always put a smile on my face and I have to drop everything when I’m notified that you have a new episode. Thank you for being you xx
Thank you for being here with me!
I sometimes also stop watching a podcast if the content is more advertising than crafting. I like your podcast because of your content. ❤️
Always enjoy your podcasts. They are interesting and vary in topics,,,,,just the right amount. Thank you for recording,,,,beautiful knitting and crochet!
I like how you say this is a real podcast. I enjoy your honesty. Never judge ourselves. I agree I don’t want to see people trying to sell yarns. Keep doing what your doing. Thank you from Scotland 🏴
I enjoy watching real life podcasts, I think they are way more interesting than the perfect picture and staged set ups. I love people who are not afraid to show their real selves.
Agree with you about the infomercial type podcasts who never show their projects. I appreciate what you choose to share. Thanks!
Congrats on getting a Ladybug wheel…I’ve been spinning on one for 10 years and I love it. Thanks for your wonderful UA-cam videos.
Your videos are beautiful and so is everything you create. 💖💕💜💚💙
I absolutely love your podcasts Jana. And it makes me happy that YOU like chatting with us. ❤
A dirty little secret for securing ends in acrylic yarns....melt them lightly. You may want to practice before doing it on the crochet blanket. Or you could secure with sewing thread. I have done both. Thanks for recording. It puts a smile on my face when I see a new episode in my UA-cam feed.
Ohhh, I just love finding out about other's dirty secrets. 😄
"Crafts should just bring joy." Yes!!!! Totally agree although I often put pressure on myself to produce and sometimes overlook enjoying the process.
Thank you Jana so nice to watch your podcast from the northeast of United States happy summer knitting 🧶😃👏🏼🥰
I agree 100% I have stopped watching some of my favorites because they feel like an infomercial. Yours is just right🙂
Always happy to see you. Love your sense of humor 🤣🥳
How exciting, Jana!!! Your spinning wheel is beautiful!!!
I have been loving the podcasts. I love long ones also I think the top will be great.
0100,woke and was lonely.thank you for soothing company
Thank you for joining me here! I hope the day gets better! Hugs!
A suprise podcast and I watched 3 times. The new sweater is coming along. The blanket being repaired is huge. The others being knitted are superb. And then you sit chatting and knitting socks. Can't wait to see the present for your daughter. Have a lovely weekend Jana 😘
Thank you ao much Rosemary! ❤️
Arne & Carlos have a sweet mouse pattern and clothes too.
Thank you for being honest about podcasts , I have recently stopped watching some as I don’t need lots of finished objects but I do like fibre content, the ups and downs of our needle adventures and especially at this time a place to escape with a coffee and like minded people 🙂. You joined me casting on my botanic shawl this morning accompanied by coffee and croissant 🥐 ☕The battening project is beautiful and those little squares give you a quick hit of “ finished” which is a great way to start a day 😀🥳 Thank you for staying true to you 🥰
I forgot to mention your Son died yarn. The colors are surprisingly gorgeous. I had no idea you could do that. Thank you for all of your sharing. ❤️
JANA TO FIX YOUR CROCHET BLANKET LOOSE ENDS: Using matching thread and sewing needle with little stitches sew the ends down by hand. I do that with all my blankets that have lots of color changes especially for kids and baby blankets as they have to take a lot of use. Its something I do while watching tv. You can also use a neutral such as a light of medium grey and it will blend in fine. Love your podcast just as it is :). :)
I listened to this on Sunday morning, knitting some stockinette in the round with the first cup of coffee of the day. Your podcast is one of my favourites- you are such a lovely person, and you inspire every time. I LOVE your joining cotton method too. I laughed when you talked about the yarn police- that’s the beauty of knitting. We can do whatever works best! Enjoy the rest of the summer xxx
Oh I just found your podcast and I love it! Your so real and it's refreshing. Life can be draining and crazy sometimes. Its a good thing to do something that brings you joy.
I felt all warm and happy when I saw your moomin mug. I wish I had bought some when I was in Helsinki in 2012.
I always get excited when you have a new podcast! I try to pick a very quiet time to enjoy it. Today I was winding a ball of madelinetosh twist light liquid gold by hand. I’m getting ready to begin another Wildwood Shawl in jewel colors for a friend. I think the sock heel pattern in that solar yarn is perfect!
Thank you so much for sharing your talent, time, and knowledge with us. I don't watch to see completed items. While yes its nice to see how things turn out it is nice just to listen to someone discussing yarn, knitting, and crochet. If you chose to share parts of your life that is just a bonus for us. Today as you sat and shared with us it was nice to see you wind down, relax and really seem to melt away your tension and stress of the week. It seemed that we were able to give you back some of the benefits we experience as we watch you! Thank you for all you share.
Thank you Nancy! The moment I sit to record brings me so much joy and also relieve, if I'm staring my troubles. You're absolutely right. It's like I'm talking to my friends while we all knit together. Very therapeutical. Thank you for being here! And thank you for listening!
I agree with what you say about some of these podcasters (knit and crochet) who are just showing their yarn purchases instead of content about what they’ve been making. I want to see what projects they’ve done or are doing so I can see if it’s something I want to do and to motivate me. I don’t need motivation to buy yarn!!! 🙄😂😂😂 Thank you, Janna! OHHHH your new wheel is gorgeous!!!
I really enjoy your podcast and the variety of topics 🥰
I am not frowning about the yarn join. I am laughing because I also knot the yarn. The glue I haven't tried , but I will.
Hey Jana. 👋 so great to see you. Love to you and your Family.
I love your outlook on knitting and projects. I enjoy your podcast so much and your outlook on life ....real life. Keep it up and if you every visit the states and are in New England (Rhode Island) you and your family have a place to stay.
Thank you so much! ❤️
Loved listening to you whilst knitting on my socks
Great visit! Thanks for sharing how no matter what skill level we all try and fail and work around and use what we have and figure it out. So true. Inspired..doing solar dyeing batches with the kids. Also love those shorty socks. And that wheel.. OMG enjoy! I grew up with this saying: Use it up... Wear it out... Make it do... Or do without. Haha and so we learn to make. ♥️👍
Love it! Thank you! ❤️
I love your podcasts! I always feel like I've spent time with a lovely friend. I love your knits too, of course! Always inspirational!!💜
Arne and Carlos have a Magnus the Garden Mouse pattern on their website. He is tall like a doll and might be the perfect friend for your daughters bunny. The pattern includes instructions for overalls a sweater and pants. Good luck with the pattern search. I also have stopped watching videos that are primarily about selling their own yarn. I love the general life chat that you do!
I am rarely a monogamous knitter, I did start the Battenberg blanket last year right after Christmas. I enjoyed it so much I was finished 3 weeks later.
Wow! That's amazing! ❤️
I agree with you about podcasts. I’m pretty relaxed with mine. I love yours, Jana!
Just make a different color bunny! She loves it and if you make it spotted or a different color…. And make it sweater as well.
Always good see you Jana, and love seeing your knitting projects, and joking you for a natter. You have made me want to get out my crochet hooks after many years of redundancy and start to make the Battenburg blanket. Great way of using up the odds and ends. Look forward to seeing you again soon.
Yarn hauls with viewers best interest at heart:
My favorite crochet channel, which has almost 1000 tutorials does a lot of yarn acquisition videos but with a purpose. I don't always watch her yarn videos but if I want to know about a specific yarn, I know I can trust her judgment so I try to find a video where she's reviewed a yarn or yarn company. She orders from overseas and shows exactly what the yarns look like, tells us what they're comparable to, and sometimes calculates what the final costs per skein are with tax and shipping costs included.
Other than that, she does reviews on new yarns giving her expert opinion, orders mystery bags from various companies, gives her opinion but makes it easier to decide whether or not we might like it by seeing it. She also likes to support smaller yarn suppliers &hand dyers by ordering from them, displaying their product, sometimes using it in tutorials& getting their info out there to help grow their business.
Thank you for this information! Yarn reviews are great! The videos that I stopped watching were pure advertising, no reviews and very small amount of creative content.
Your videos are always a pleasure to watch. Thanks for including the spinning info and your new Ladybug. I’m very interested in learning to spin and which wheels are recommended.
If you can’t find a new toy pattern for your daughter, you might consider making another bunny friend in a different color with new clothing items they could share. 🐰🤗
Thank you for another nice and inspiring episode!👍
Your spinning wheel is great leg exercise for we who sit and knit.
Congrats on your new wheel! I agree with you about Scotch Tension. I have a Majacraft
Suzie and love it. Always enjoy your podcasts. You have a nice easy way with your presentations. Thanks for taking the time to record. Enjoying your knits here in Pennsylvania USA.
I’m always happy to see you!
Love that you recorded Jana! You look nice in that pink color! Perhaps in a future sweater?😃👏🏼
Loving the blankets. I can see that you have put together your yarn for a gorgeous marled fade 😉
It's going to be a cardigan. 😊
Thank you for your podcasts X
I love the little pink fuzzy ball. The first one you put on the yarn you dyed.
Your shining eyes, telling about your new Ladybug, gorgeous. And then, from an experienced knitter, you glue your joining yarn, your making life so much easier.
Your cotton/linen joining method made me laugh out loud. No frown! How very clever you are
I'm working with some Shibui Vine (discontinued) and have taken to making knots, too. I tried Magic Knot, but the yarn tore...so regular knot it is! I'll look for that fabric glue, too. I tried weaving ends on a previous project with the yarn, and it held OK, but I think it shows on the right side.
Nice episode. I will like to see all your yarn in the next episode😀
Love your solar dyed yarns. Planning on doing a Battenburg blanket for the winter. Enjoy your wheel!!
Your sharing how it did not go as planned helps us. And I often use 2 or 3 sources because thickness or the color changes.
Thanks for a "no finished objects" kind of podcast! You definitely don't HAVE to have a finished object to podcast. It's great to see and listen about your works in progress and plans. I'm definitely with you about the type of podcasts I enjoy. Purchases are cool, but crafting is on the first place for me! Congrats on your new wheel! Wish you a lot of lovely time with it!
Thank you Jana another relaxing and pleasant podcast. Enjoy the weekend. ❤
Love your video's, thanks.
Jana, I must share that today we found out that our church, here in NE Florida, is sponsoring a Ukrainian family of 5 who arrive very soon from Poland. A husband and wife with 2 children, a grandmother and a Dog. So very exciting for us! We have prayed for a long time for The Lord to send people of many races to worship with us. So this is answered prayers. 💕🙏🏻
Thank you for your hospitality, happy crocheting 🤟🏻
Thank you for a lovely episode ❤️
I just can’t tell you how much I enjoy your podcast!!!After I watch a new episode I feel sad because I have to wait till your next one.
Love your videos. Thank you. I have a kromski spinning wheel, and love to spin. I hope you will show what you make on your ladybug!
Thank you for your honesty. I love your work! 🤗😃
You are just so cute Jana! Your podcasts fly by because you are so interesting and always a little surprise or two! You inspired me to Solar dye ! I used Marigolds and got beautiful tonal yellow and gold. I didn’t like the hue of two skeins so I gathered more Marigolds and dyed again. What an amazing gold I got! Wish you could see it! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you Betty! Your solar dye experiments sound amazing! I wish I could see the colour you got! Thank you for sharing!
Kiitos taas, ilahdun aina kun huomaan uuden jaksosi. ❤️
Hi Jana, what a lovely surprise to see you again even if you didn't have any finished objects, that's just not possible when you have a new spinning wheel! And what a beauty 😍 the Knitting Stew podcaster Leanne made a cute 🐸 frog and knit up a sweater to go with it... idea? Looking forward to your spin adventures on the lady bug 🐞 soon 😀
Your podcasts are my favorite. You explain everything well and you're delightful
Well loved knits has recently been making a lot of baby knits as she is pregnant, and she was just talking about a book of stuffed animals and their clothing! I know she made the giraffe, but I think she said there was a lion and tiger and a lot of others too!
I am always excited when I see a new podcast is on.
I love your new spinning wheel and I love that it makes you so happy.
You brighten my day! Thank you so much. Your work is beautiful and inspiring! Have a great week! 😊😊😊
Thank you for the knitting company this rainy Saturday morning. The yellow yarn you died in a jar is gorgeous!! 🥰
I need to take up spinning again - inspired by you. I have an Ashford Joy which I hardly use nowadays. 🤭
Really enjoyed seeing what you are making and listening to you talk! Such a relaxing Sunday morning 😊 Thank you x
Hej - (= hello in danish). I love your podcast every bit of it! Thanks.
Your colors for the is so beautiful. Very inspiring indeed. The difference in the colors can be seen even on the screen. Yes you will have to mix as much as you can - noone will notice except yourself. Bomullin is not pleasant for the hands aaaauuuv!.
Oh you’re my favorite podcast it’s always good to see you thank you so much love your energy love your podcast
It’s so sweet to hear about the afghan you’re making for your daughter. I’m sure she will always cherish it. You’re a great mom. ❤️
I am always so pleased when
I see that you have posted a new video. You are an amazing woman!
Dear Jana, such a pleasure when you come to visit! Thank you for being so open about your life and crafting. And “secret” tip on joining cotton and linen yarn. Love, love your Battenberg blanket. So inspiring your work always is. Much love from the wet hills of West Virginia, US.
Janet
Always a great pleasure to spend a moment with you. Thank you Jana 🙂 a hug from France
Thanks for another lovely episode! I really enjoy your podcast and always get happy when I see an newupload from you.
Of course, I hd to get a cup of tea and my knitting, to sit and watch you on Saturday morning. I am so delighted about this. :)
I enjoy your videos, no matter what you have to talk about/show/etc. You're like the kind of person who it is a joy to pop over for a cup of tea/coffee and chat. Yay!
A question for your FAQ: When completing a project you love, how do you feel about frogging mistakes? As I watch you today, I am undoing about 9 hours of brioche knitting - I was learning and made mistakes in the beginning of my shawl. I'm going to enjoy another podcast and continue picking up my stitches.
Hope you get a good rest soon. You deserve it!
Hai Jana, what a lovely surprise to get your notification! Loved this episode again, the way you tell about knitting and yarn.. is like talking to a friend who loves the same things. But also the little snippets of your live, your struggles, makes your podcast real. And that's what counts in this world! Thank you for being real, don't get to pressed to fit too many things in one week. Good luck, have a great week!
Beautiful garden.
I love watching. your podcast and seeing what you are working on and what you have aquired, you are an inspiration. And I agree about your joining your linen yarn whatever works
Make a fox friend for the bunny. Your daughter would love it. 🦊
Thank you for inspiring me to start the Battenberg Blanket again. I had started it a couple of years ago and scrapped it. The key is to join as you go (JAG). You are my heroine!!!
Yay! I think you should definitely give it another go. I find it much easier to join it right away. That way you don't have an overwhelming pile of squares in front of you and you're all the time switching between different activities and never get bored. Let me know how it goes.
Thank you for letting me know about the unfinished projects.😁
Greetings from Lily🌸
I totally agree with you about what you said of Stephen's patterns. A year ago I thought they're too much of a colour explosion for me but now that I've seen also the muted and neutral versions I'm totally in love. Hopefully I'll be starting a Penguono soon. Thank you for a lovely episode once again. 🥰
What a nice surprise! I got my coffee turned on UA-cam, and there you were!! Thank you!! Always learn something.
Perfect timing!
Oh my !! I love my Bug and never thought that was was you got!! I too have 3 antique wheels!
I think I made the right choice, I found my perfect wheel. I also have 2 antique wheels, but it's hard to spin larger amounts of them. I only use them for fun and quick spinning.
Thank you for sharing this episode, Jana! I am totally getting that textile glue! I have been knitting many summer tops this year and I put a weavers knot in my last finished object. Now I am knitting with Lang Yarns Lino, and that is so slippery and difficult to secure...
My local craft store has it! I am jumping straight on my bike to go get it! Thanks so much for that tip! HAHA! 😅😃🤭🥰
Congratulations on your new 🐞!! I'm going to have to make this blanket as a bedspread, I think in pastels. Thank you for sharing.
I also do not like the podcasts where they show "what I bought, what I got" - you have a perfect balance - I love your knit-with-me and chatty life updates at the end. Always look forward to watching a new episode with you - I think I may join the Battenberg Train too. Your new wheel is so pretty - have you given her a name? I don't have any ideas about toy knitting - how big is the bunny you want the friend for?
Thank you Gail! Yay to more Battenberg blankets! The wheel doesn't have an official name yet, I just call her Bug.
Our daughter's bunny is around 20 cm tall, I think.
Your blankets look great and the colours in you son’s blanket are beautiful. I don’t spin or crochet but watching your episode really makes me wish I could do both. Stephen West is not my thing either and I have tried his patterns. Perhaps it’s because of my age, I don’t know.
I feel the same about a lot of podcasts too. Quiet a few have just been doing ads or showing off so much yarn but haven't actually been showing much of their knitting, which is sad. I've actually decided to not really show my purchases anymore in my videos (only for very special yarns or yarn stores). I felt that it would be more interesting for me to talk about the yarn once I start knitting with it because then I actually have a lot to share that's more interesting than "look at this!". I love your videos, have for quite a while. It always makes me happy when I see that you've posted a new one ❤
That is a very good point! Thank you! ❤️
I love the knitting one beige . Beautiful
Just found your podcast. Love it! Beautiful projects and my projects are always tangled too!
I like the heel, will have to try it.
To try to fix the crochet blanket. I would tie the ends that are coming out to a strand of new yarn and wave it in.
That's a great idea! Thank you so much!
I highly recommend TOFT UK for crochet toys there is so much to choose from and come with everything you need x
Thank you for this ”no finished object” episode ❤️ just so relaxing to sit and knit with you and see all your lovley blankets. Wow that Wheel looks amazing, i hope it will bring you lots of yarn/ love from Sweden 🇸🇪
Thank you Cia! ❤️ I'm really enjoying my new wheel.
Lmao. You are so funny! I'll visit you in yarn jail. I'll even bring knitting needles or crochet hooks to break out. Lol.
LOL
