Lovely show☺️ I really enjoyed seeing all your beautiful sweaters. My husband sprays our yard with chrysanthemum spray. It takes care of mosquitoes really well it is not harmful to humans or pets. He has a backpack blower and blows it into the bushes and up into the tree leaves because that’s where the mosquitoes hide during the day. I felt like a prisoner in my home because of the mosquitoes were so bad Now we can go outside and enjoy the evenings🌸
Really, wow 👍
Thank you for the lovely visit. Your enthusiasm about your speckled cardigan is wonderful. It looks fabulous on you. I hope your kids have a great summer.
Thank you! ❤️
Your squishy cardigan is fabulous! In Scotland, your little river (creek) is called a "burn" and in England it's a "stream". Mosquitos in Scotland are "midges".
I really love your neon boucle cardigan. It suits you. When I was a kid, we lived in Wyoming and they had the biggest mosquitos I have ever seen. We would always say they were as big as helicopters. Of course they really weren't, but they were really big, I suppose they still are.
I really like the battenberg WIP crochet project It has a cozy vintage feel Perfect
We have had crazy storms, but I am sure the 100°F days are coming. It makes me sad I can't spend more rime outside because of the mosquitoes. I love your cardigan. I love the lilacs and miss them And I love your brightness in personality and smile.
I love your bright and happy cardi, battenburgh and vintage yarn. Happy Names Day to Husband!! Those little Blood thirsty Hyttynen are evil, I agree.
Jana. Enjoyed your podcast. I like the dress and the cardigan. That color looks good on you. You are so cute and funny. You make me smile. See you next time.
Love your necklace! 😆Maybe once you've knitted up the colours you could make little felted balls and eventually create a more comfortable necklace out of the balls.
That's a great idea! 👍❤️
I always look forward to seeing your videos. You make me smile. Thank you for being you and thank you for sharing your world!
Your speckled cardigan is the best thing ever🎉🎉x
Hi Jana. A big THANK YOU for showing the Mystic Square by James Watts. I think it is lovely - a bit of Monet. Thanks too for the episode. Maureen x
If you have any left over yarn from your cardigan you could make Clucky a nice new squishy shawl, it would go with her squishy self. I do like your new sweater, quite lovely. You are a great, quick knitter, your garments look amazing. Have a wonderful week! ❤
I love happy and colorful cardigans❤ and I love yours so much. Your nutiden wool necklace is always fun to watch.
I always enjoy your energy and joy in your projects. Thank you for sharing it with us!
You make such pretty things!
I love a little cinnamonsyrop in my iced coffee. I simmer 5 cinnamonsticks in 500 ml of water and after 10 minutes i will add up to 400 grams of sugar (until is won't dissolve (add a table spoon of water and make it simmer a minute of 2. I put it in sirupbottles with a screwcap and than it is ready to use. I love making them in advance cause i put the cinnamonsticks in and the keep adding flavour for a few weeks.
Thank you for being here!
Your new cardigan is very very very cool - love it! So sorry about the monster mosquitos - wishing you and your family a happy summer.
26:50 your Mystic Square looks like a Holland tulip fields ❤ lovely ❤
Love your squishy cardigan as well. I saw the pattern, and I wasn't very expired by it, but then I saw you modelling it, how it moves, how it drapes, and there it clicked me, I need one as well 😂
What a beautiful cardigan and just says spring, summer. Lol I need a sweater like that😊.
Hello Jana👋...What a vision you are in your Emotional Support Cardi.😍👌Clucky will get jealous🤭Nice to see you get mozzies too...a knitted bee keepers outfit in neon sound like an urgent project.Wishing you some peaceful moment in your garden. The Nutiden necklace could be drafted as a cool yoke pattern,I reckon.Just say'n.Deep breaths for school break.😘🙏👋♥️🐨🌏xx
Another hint use wool for the plants. Make small wool balls and put in the potting soil. The wool keeps water in your plants for longer between watering
Absolutely gorgeous! Pink is your color! Beautiful, beautiful.
Great podcast! Love all your knits! I especially love the Mystic Square. I think I can make that with stash. Glad summer has made it to your part of the world. I’m in Michigan, USA and it’s beautiful here now too.
Zdravím z české republiky z Ostravy. Vaše vídea jsou plné pohody a radosti ze života 😀😃😄
The new sweater is so pretty! The color looks beautiful on you - also the dress! That James Watts sweater was so cute - I forgot it and now I want one, to use a lot of my single skeins !
Slow Down, Girl! Syrup?? Who are you and what have you done with our Black Coffee Only Lady?!?! It sounds delish, actually! I hope you enjoy your days ahead with the Kiddos :)
I saw somewhere that making bubbles with a bubble machine keeps mosquitoes away! Love your new sweater!! So you!!❤
Beautiful squishy cardigan!
Love the Nutiden yarn necklace!🤩
I think your old vintage cotton is lovely. Why not try a lacy cardigan? Love your new sweater. I am inspired to make one too. Thank you for sharing your love of life and knitting.
Your new cardigan is gorgeous! And the way you keep track of your different colors of Nutiden is absolutely genius! I’m always learning new things from you.
I ❤ you, Jana! Your excitement over your cardigan is wonderful!! Now I want to knit one in a neon pinkie color too, totally not me😂😂
You are always such a delight to watch. I love your vibrant and happy color choices, they suit your sweet disposition. Enjoy your summer days with your beautiful children. Peace from British Columbia, Canada.
Try the heated spoon trick for the mosquito bites. Heat a cup of water to boiling. Put metal spoon I. The cup long enough to heat 20 seconds or so. And place tip of spoon on bite. The heat chemically changed the enzyme and itch goes away 😄
With that light coral vintage yarn you could do a T-shirt either round yoke or raglan, so a short sleeved Lento or Tolsta Tee basically, they're all pretty much the same I think :D
The Kronblad Nutiden is very heart jumping. Can't wait to see what you make with that.
A Sarah fan? 😂
I only have one plate of it, so it's most likely will be a colourwork. 😊
Your cardigan is super cool! Love all your knitted objects. Also love your videos watch them every week from Connecticut, USA.
There is a KAL with Sprinkled Fibers called Summer breeze that would be good for your peachy fiber. 😊 just a thought. And I adore your new squishy cardigan!!❤
That cardigan is Jana to a tee!! Love it 😍 i have a few sweater quantity of boucle yarn that you are majorly inspiring me to bump to the top of my knitting queue.
Love your cardigan!! I would make a summer ranunculus in the vintage peach cotton. Would be beautiful on you!
I think the granny square cardigan you made before would look great in that cotton yarn. I think it’s such a beautiful summer sherbet colour, with the granny square pattern it wouldn’t be too hot.
I ordered a mesh garden suit from one of the Chinese sites a couple years ago, it works great to keep the bugs off as it even covers my hair . The family laugh at me saying I look like an alien but I don’t care. It even had hand covers but I use gardening gloves . I spray it with tick repellant once in awhile just to be sure. I have a bug phobia🫣🦟🕷️🐜🦗.
Have a lovely weekend and school break🙋🏼♀️🥰 Happy names day to Hubby🎂 The Lilacs are beautiful, I can just imagine the beautiful smell. 🥰
Love love love your squishy cardigan and I want one very badly! Thank you for sharing your time and beautiful crafts. I love looking through your yarns in your shop but I am in the US and I believe too far for shipping. But your yarns are lovely. ❤
So love the yarn you have used I neeeeeed this in my wardrobe 😊
Mystic Square goes with dress you got on❤❤
Get a bike Jana! Often it will cost more to get an old bike in working order than to get a new one. And future you will thank you for investing in your health (amazing how we prioritize our cars and our houses over our health…) Love your podcast! ❤
Love your Cardigan!❤
Oh my gosh - LOVE your sweater soooo much!!!! 🥰🩷🩷🩷✨✨✨
A lovely through on top:

Hi Jana. I would make the Autumn Leaves Linier top with that vintage yarn. it's free on Ravelry. xxx
Yes lovely pattern
I just finished a nice summer top. Maraiby Hanna Maciejewska. And i can see it with your vintage yarn as well
Love your cardigan and the Mystic Square! You have such a gift for putting different colored yarns together!
“Summer breeze slip on is the name”
Love the cardigan
For your cotton: I just knit a rift top with a sport/DK cotton on 5mm. I didn't do any rib details. Straight stockinette, flat, bottom up. Followed the shaping for shoulder and neck. Then did wider sleeves. I really like it. Made it very oversized.
Thank you! I'll look it up.
Your Badana cardigan is just lovely; the colour is so pretty and brave as well 👍🏻 I made Badana last summer and have enjoyed it a lot last winter. Jana, 🦟 are a part of our summer , annoying and hungry 😅, enjoy yr summer and holidays.
Coral is your color, Jana! That cardigan with the coral dress is stunning!
I hear coffee grounds( used and dried )and bay leaves or orange peels when burned in safe container helps keep bugs away. I am walking bug food and prefer the zapper
Oh I am a walking mosquito all-you-can-eat buffet! So sorry they are feasting on you! Another delightful episode with happy knits and woolly necklaces, Jana. Thank you for bringing so much joy to my week! Have you ever knit anything with a single strand of nutiden where you didn't have to make a lot of modifications? I'm looking for pattern suggestions if you or your viewers have any.
😄 You're so funny! All-you-can-eat mosquito buffet. 😂
I usually add mohair to the single strand of Nutiden. I've only knit 1 thing without any additional yarn - Umma Cape, and I didn't meet the gauge. I've knit a few things in a single strand of Plötulopi. My favourite one is Into the Wild sweater by Tania Barley. It's a colourwork sweater with foxes. I think thicker Nutiden colours will work for it as well.
@@FinnishKnittingStories 😆 thank you for the nutiden recommendations! It’s such gorgeous yarn and I’m having some anxiety over making the wrong decisions for it.
Your love for your new knit is so contagious, you are getting me fired up with wanting a similar garment. Congratulations on making your favourite garment.❤❤❤
Your Mystic Square sweater is simply magnificent. The colors are so beautifully arrayed, great blending/arranging of colors. Jana that is one very special knit. Oh the plague of mosquitos - sorry you are inundated with them. You are a delightful person and your "show" is my favorite.
Thank you so much! I used my special hand-spun advent minis for it and they created the most beautiful landscapes with that stitch count. 🥰
👍🏻You can nevet get to many cardigans!!!!! Your’s are lovely!🌸
Thank you Jana. The Mystic Square top is lovely. Have 2 differing colours of Noro yarn in my stash and now know what I can use it for. You could grow Pennyroyal to deter mosquitos but grow/keep out of reach from your pets. I cant believe how quickly your weather has gone into summer temperatures. Australia is expecting a very dry winter which isnt good. Here in South Australia had the dryest May on record for Autumn. Iced coffee is nice with just ice-cream and ice cubes.
Jana I love that gorgeous spring colored new cardigan!!!! Great job!!!
Oh my Beautiful tulip knitting needle stoppers 😊 Great idea Jana ❤
Great as slways. Sending love n hugs to all the family
Loving your philosophy on why we knit versus what is the cost of our time, etc.
❤️
Gorgeous cardigan Jana A very HAPPY colour🎉🎉🎉
I love your cardigan
Love your cardi❤️❤️ Glad to see you outside knitting and enjoying the garden. I follow a weather app and see you have 16 hours of daylight 😊
It is a very pretty cardigan. Looks so good on you.
I like your vintage cotton yarn! hopefully you will turn it into somethink stylish for summer!
That Aarre dress is so pretty in that colour on you. Looking forward to seeing the vintage yarn project started and completed. I like the concept of using up the vintage yarns to make modern creations. 😉Yesterday was the last day of school over here and my thoughts are with the parents who do not have a plan for the kids this summer. 😯
I always love the footage of the outdoors there in Finland and I thank you for sharing. ❤ See you next week.
Thank you! ❤️
A good thing to try and repel mosquitoes is to rub laundry dryer sheets on your arms and legs, it repels the mosquitoes in our area,it’s worth trying.Hope it works 🌸
Hi
i love your all video very nice
Just finished Turtledove cardigan in my home processed, spun alpaca with 3/4sleeve...love it but warm and rainy today . Like you was thinking embroidery but can't think where the tin of floss is.
It is too chilly for swimming here but we have the mosquitoes too🇨🇦🇨🇦🦋🌺
Hello my dear, thank you again. I always wait for your next podcast. I knitted the Kallias twice. First time exact like the pattern is written. Second time I changed the back into plain stockinette. In the pattern its a sort of slip stitch ribbing and that is very elastical, but shrinks with wearing. So the back becomes smaller than the front. Some knitters had issues with this, so did I. I am much more happy with my second one with the plain stockinette in the back. Very nice to wear. Fits perfect without buttons. I think Nutiden is less elastical, but be careful. Perhaps you add some stitches to the back when you knit it in slip stitch ribbing. I love Nutiden. What about mixing one of your greens with one of your more blue tuerquiose colours? I wish you much fun. I think I will knit a third Kallias. Isabell is a marvelous designer.
I admire your boucle DK💓 . There is only one colour left with six skein. When will you dye more? Greetings❤
Thank you so much for this comment and for the tip! I will look into it. Our knitting community is so amazing, we can save each other so much time (and frustration) by warning about issues and mistakes. ❤️
I love that pattern! Do you have pictures of your cardigans anywhere? I'd love to see them! 🥰
Which colour of boucle did you have in mind? I can dye it up next week. 😊
@@FinnishKnittingStories Hello my dear, I am Karinkaete @ravelry. I just ordered the strong glow from you. I payed with paypal. That was me. I think, this is also a nice colour for a cardigan. I am going to copy your loose one with large needles 🥰. Can you hold back the wool? Perhaps I find something else in your shop. I will message again on wednesday, when this is okay for you. Love the podcast, the look into you shop and all your knitted items.
I got so excited when I was looking for wool in Denmark saw your wooool
Uh your cardigan is Very Very beautifull, and You look like a million wearing it😘
Hi Jana, I love your cardigan and beautiful colours I love your new basket could you please let me know where you bought from thank you. Also I think you should buy a new bike Love Joan from Nottingham UK xx❤
I have some handdyed cottonyarn in same weight as yours. I have been thinking, that I might knit a ranunculus in my yarn.
Hello you look wonderful in that colour enjoy your warmer weather we here in south africa just having our first winer rain brrrr good knitting weather though 😊
❤❤❤
Auturmn leaves linier top as already suggested...
🍀
Ughh! Mosquitoes, right? I have an extreme reaction and each bite swells up like a fried egg. Horrid. I have a device called a Therapik. You hold it on the bite and depress the button for about 30 seconds. It heats up the skin in and around the bite, which denatures the protein that is injected by the mozzie when it bites you. If I catch them as soon as they happen and do not scratch them, the Therapik absolutely works to stop the itch and the extreme reaction. Highly recommend.
But mostly came here to say your cardigan is the Bomb.
I am knitting the sex sweater by Helene Magnussen. I think it would work for your yarn. It's for sport weight.
How are Sophia's pink flowers coming along?
have you tried going marigolds , they seem to help keep the at bay
Can you tell us what is a Names Day?
Cardigan is beautiful, but looks much too big.
That's exactly how I wanted it to be. 😄
@@FinnishKnittingStories to each their own. :)
I knew you must be my soul mate! My car is electric blue.
