Thank you. I just successfully completed a timing belt and water pump change in my '93 Del Sol. Your video helped. A lot. Well done! Wish I could buy you a beer.--Phil
UA-cam is the best for real. I've learned so much from here. I am now looking to open my own business as a result. crazy but true just from watching a video
i have to do this to my accord aswell, is leaking water from the water pump, so i have to go and change it, im gonna do it this sunday, following your video, thanks for this great video info..
Another way to hold the engine while tightening the crankshaft bolt works if you also have the head off. If you do, put a small cloth towel on top of a piston that is about 3/4 of the way up and put the head back on with just a couple of bolts. Snug them down. Now, the engine can't turn in one direction, enabling you to tighten the crank bolt.
It took my most of the day since I was filming and also took apart the balance gear to replace the o-ring. The time it would take for this job depends on the condition of the fasteners on your car (rust), and if you replace other parts such as seals, tensioner, etc.
How did you keep the engine from turning over when you broke the crank pulley bolt? I noticed you had some kind of a bar under the engine but I didn't see where it was lodged.
A question: does this engine survives if the belt breaks? Some of the old 16 valve engines just stops when the belt wears out and finally breaks but how is it with this model? I have a 1989 with 300.000kilometres on the meter and finally you get to the point when you just drive until the car stops. Is it hard to replace the belt?
Hey man I'm working on a civic but when I took the crank pulley off there is a little spacer almost what it looks like and I was wondering if Iir it on backwards if it would leak oil real bad
Dave I have the same car and it runs great but has a high pitched whining noise when I accelerate and when the rpm's are between 1200 and 2500. Its coming from the timing belt side. I've replaced the alternator and the ac belt and power steering belt. Also a new timing belt
Same here… Today I heard the whining noise when I turned it on and accelerated. The noise is coming from the timing belt side. Do you think it is most likely the belt itself?
I did something stupid the balancer shaft bolt I used to hold the shaft in place to keep it from turning when i was done putting on the belt I forgot to remove that bolt that holds it in place and then tried to start the car, the small belt stripped out the teeth.. SO i am wondering if i hurt the gears when that happen or not?
could you send me the link to that one please? That, along with the timing belt video is gonna get me out of a real jam. Thanks for taking the time to post these videos
hi good job. hi ve the same car with the same engin.but mine is a lot fucked up. i just wanted to know if i could ask u few things about the engin/ regards zee

Crank seal: 91212-PT0-003
Cam seal: 91213-PT0-003
Front balance shaft seal: 91233-PT0-003
Oil pump/rear balance shaft seal: 15114-PT0-003
@great2c4me it took me most of the day, but I changed all of the front seals, lower rocker arm seals, and did a valve adjustment as well.

I used the crank pulley tool with two breaker bars - I have a separate video on this process.
thank you great video, super clear
12:10. Anyone else hear that supra? :D
Outstanding Job !, thanks.
great video i have to work on my 92 this weekend..mine has some rusted bolts hopefully none break

how do you get that wheel off to remove the bottom timing belt cover
When adjusting the tension on re-install - how do you keep the crank shaft bolt from becoming loose if you rotate counter clockwise?
this looks a bit more complex than doing a tbelt on a d15 civic motor. how long did it take you (hrs)?
good info, thanks
quick question I have the bolt in place but its not in the right timing place its close to two o'clock what is going on with this

I also have to do this for my accord. Do you by chance have the product numbers for the seals?

how long did it take you to complete the job
@Smokeythe420Bear I don't, but check out any of the online Honda parts sites - they'll have all the info.
how did you take those belts off?
Didn't notice any shaking, but you could always adjust the tension again.
GooooD!!! lot of help!!! tanks!!! XD
hi good job. hi ve the same car with the same engin.but mine is a lot fucked up. i just wanted to know if i could ask u few things about the engin/

when you were taking off the crank bolt, were you taking off the pulley using the breaker bar+pipe combo in your hands, or the bolt itself?
+carbonfibreguy One breaker bar holds the crank pulley tool, and the other breaker bar+pipe is to remove the crank bolt.
Good video informative.
Hey Dave CB7 tuner.com I'm guessing did you only replace belts and water pump or all gaskets tensioner adjusters etc thanks Billy .
what is the Part Number for the Rear Balancer Seal?
Nice
I believe this engine is interference, meaning the pistons can hit the valves if the timing belt breaks.
way more than necessary to get to the timing belt
12:10 Boosted 350z listen
sounds like an rb26 to me
Fuck, how did I break my water pump
