Thank you for portraying Chennai with full of colours, some of the Vlog travelers have shown some horrible things and complaining about the beloved city. Like any other city, Chennai too has their bustling lifestyle and indeed chaos of poor administration. Whatever it is its own mother of 10 million chennaities.
Thank you for focussing on Chennai - the guide wasn't very well versed with the uniqueness that Chennai offers when compared to other cities - but I hope this will encourage more Aussies to come here- this is India's best blend of tradition and modernity! In December, the climate is salubrious and the world's largest Music and Dance festival - the Margazhi Music season is celebrated! It is home to India's only lighthouse with an elevator, it is the oldest city corporation in the world after London, and is also the oldest modern city in India - as you rightly pointed out, Marina beach is the largest city beach in India, and second largest in the world after Miami, and the Mahabalipuram UNESCO world heritage site (recently Sino-Indian summit was held there) is also a stone's throw away. It is also home to many 11-13th century temples like Parthasarathy in Triplicane (near the Marina Beach) and Kapaleeshwarar - which was near the Silk Saree shop you visited! Next time do explore more of these too! Thank you Getaway!
"Chief of fisherman's colony, Madarasan." LOL LOL. You've got a fake guide! That's not true. Madras' origins are not yet known. The MOST LIKELY possibility is that it was named after the Portuguese occupied and built a church that was called "Madre...something". Madre is mother in Portuguese. Later when the British occupied it, the name became Madras.
I lived in Chennai for 4yrs. I miss the beautiful city of old flavors, customs and abundance of modern opportunities.

You spelled organize wrong.......
Don't believe the outer look.. that city is one of the worst polluted city. Most of the areas are filled with noxious and polluted dangerous air.
