    THE PREACHING BIBLE/MCCLAREN BIBLE ALONE MAKES ME LOVE THE NKJV. AND NELSON.

    The thin line bubbles out at the end of the text block. In other words, it’s not laying flat when you’re reading Revelation. The NIV Heritage is incredible

    The NIV thinline is very easy to handle and not much ghosting at all. An ideal combination.

    Just talk to lady at kjv store. The brown with hubs 189.00 with leather inside out on cover. The 169.00 leather out imitation inside So now the only 2 bible manufacturers with leather inside and out and 36gsm are rl allan and Thomas Nelson. The humble lamb goatskin i found out inside is imitation. Scyler and cambridge now 28 gsm unless wide margin

    Thank you for the review. I just received the KJV from Amazon for $80 after a $10 rebate was applied at checkout. These provide an amazing price point to enter into the premium Bible arena. It feels just as good or better in my hand than an RL Allan, Cambridge or a Schuyler. Now, if there were other colors to chose from, like brown, blue or even a purple, these would be a true must have for a Bible collector.

    I think I like black letter bibles now. E.G. MACLAREN AND NIV IN PREMIER. ONLY CAMBRIDGE SEEMS TO DO RED LETTER RIGHT. THE NIV IN PREMIER IS BEAUTIFUL AND THIN AND GOOD PRINT AND SOFT AND SMELLS GOOD LIKE LEATHER. PREMIER BIBLES ARE NOW MY FAVOURITE. AND AVAILABLE ON AMAZON. I THINK IHAVE MOST OF PREMIER IN FORMATS I LIKE. NASB..NIV..NKJV..NRSV..ET AL. THE NASB SCT AND SCR IS BEST I HAVE SEEN. ALSO AVAILABLE IN LEATHER. WITH RED HILITES.

    I think Nelson has survived the China syndrome so far. But even some of their premium bibles are a bit loose on their floppiness.
    I am glad they usually make a leather counterpart for their PREMIER bibles.

    I think I have most of the King James versions that Cambridge produces and also most of the CBP counterparts.
    I did get a new King James version in the Schuyler QUENTEL and also in the Holman LARGE PRINT personal size BIBLES. Nelson is always a good choice. For quality and readability.

    I'd add that the NIV Heritage has an excellent concordance, better than the NKJV single column. But the NIV thinline has no concordance whatsoever, if I recall correctly. My favorite of them all is the NKJV thinline, but I'm still waiting for my KJV, so I may change my mind.

    It seems premier sct scr when red is added is better than Schuyler single column.

    Hi Thanks for this super informative video. Could you give me your thoughts on single verses double column. Its going to be a main reading bible. I really like the 2 niv ones. Looking for easy to read and handle. I have a large esv study bible but It a little cumbersome to read unless at a desk. I want to be able to sit down on the sofa and get lost in the scriptures. Kind regards Martin

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Martin. For reading, I prefer a single column. Poetry looks best in single-column and it has more room to indent letters, create lists, etc., as long as the column doesn't have too many words. I like 10-12, but 14 is fine. The single-volume and multi-volume reading Bibles are my favorites for just reading, I also like the Clarion and NIV Premier Collection.

    The NIV thinline is stunning with blue gilding and ribbons---wow!! I like the NIV heritage too. Guess I will have to pick one up. Sad that the NKJV doesn't come with those features(blue gilding & ribbons). Love the dark, bold print but wish the print was a 12 point font. I'm still waiting for Zondervan to come out with a large print Quest bible. Is there any chance that you could find out if they intend to print a large print Quest bible in the near future please? I'm not the only one waiting for that :) Thank-you for another A+++ review.

    I recently got the KJV and the NKJV single column and love them more than my ESV Heirloom Single Column Legacy. I did notice a difference in the leather of the KJV and NKJV. The KJV is buttery soft and the NKJV is soft but seems a bit stiffer and/or thicker. Did you notice this too?

      That's a tough one. Both are excelelnt. I love single columns and this is about as good as it gets, but the thinline stands out to me because of it's character-count. It creates about the best double-column layout that I've seen and the poetic setting doesn't suffer by not being a single column. I'd never be able to choose between them though (but that's normal for me).

    • @mariopinder242
      @mariopinder242 5 років тому +1

      @@BibleBuyingGuide thanks for the reply, I was aiming towards the single column. But it looks heavy. I think I would enjoy having double column, so there's more text on one page.

      I have a Thompson Chain in NKJV, that Ben's Bible made for me. If you have ever seem any of the Bibles made with the Nail Cross, that my design. I invited Benjamin Vannoy (Ben's Bible) to preach at my church. He is a great guy and his work is amazing.

    • @fnjesusfreak
      @fnjesusfreak 6 років тому

      I always saw the NIV as aimed toward the newbie who knows nothing about the Bible and just wants something cheap, simple and easy to read, where cross references would just tie their target audience's brains in knots.

    • @BibleBuyingGuide

      That's a tough one. I prefer a thinner Bible and that double-column is wide enough that poetry is amazing, but the single-column is a better layout. I'd choose based on thick vs thin. Both are excellent choices.

    I mean is it worth the price difference? I've just ordered the Cambridge clarion for 165, in terms of longevity do you think it's worth it? I was looking at the Premier large print thomas nelson Bible I'm so confused XD

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  5 років тому +1

      Great question. The Cambridge is a higher quality Bible and I do feel that it's worth the extra cost for that quality of materials and construction. The Premier Collection is easily worth its price and is a great choice if you want to save some money. Both are great options for their price-points. It's really hard for me to choose.
