- I'm reviewing the Amethyst edition of the Humble Lamb NKJV, The Word of God. I'm comparing it to the Cambridge Clarion, Schuyler Quentel, Schuyler NKJV, and Crossway's ESV Legacy.

Theres really no comparison with Schuyler.
Nice comparison. I like the Humble Lamb Bibles...I have all 3 colors, I was going to do a review last night but company showed up and then it got too late and the lighting wasn’t right so hopefully I’ll get a chance tonight... they’re neat Bibles. I like them.

After some careful consideration, I decided to purchase a couple of Schuyler bibles instead. I was going to buy a couple Humble lamb bibles, but at their price point and the realisation that they are printed and bound in China, I really couldn't justify purchasing them. Thanks for the video and comparisons. I like that it is single column and that the references are inline with the verse.
Excellent review and helpful. I like the single column layout. The deal breaker for me actually is the Exodus route map which suggests the Israelites didn't cross the Red Sea. Perhaps if the map zooms in above the Gulf of Suez there would be some sort of disection of the waters?

Awesome review! Thank you for this (I realize I'm commenting on an 2 year old video) I know what Bible to get if I ever get a NKJV Bible! I love Single Column text formats. Also, now that the Schuyler Treveris is out, I also think that would be a good comparison since it is also single column.
Just got my first Humble Lamb Bible delivered today! So excited about this premium Bible. Got the Amethyst edge gilt. Just wish they would make a Humble Lamb Study Bible. Love the features of a study bible.
It looks great, but I am not sold on it... I think there are far more useful Bible’s around; for reading, teaching and study.
All of your comparisons look superior to the Humble Lamb.

I was reading out of my NKJV Quentel and my NKJV Humble Lamb tonight, and I noticed that the Quentel (and the PSQ, I checked) has more translation notes than the Humble Lamb has. I'm unsure why this is.
I saw that too. I compared to one from Thomas Nelson and it matched. It looks like some have more notes than others.
This is such an important note! Worthy of being pinned to the top of the comment section. This might be a deal breaker for some. Especially given the facts and history of bible translations for the KJV which the NKJV is based on, exhaustive translation notes is paramount. Thank you!
My cheap walmart Nelson NKJV has all the translator notes plus word meanings. My goatskin Nelson just has the basic translator notes-no explanatory notes. My Schuyler has the same extensive notes as my cheap Nelson and is FAR better than the deluxe Nelson.
Don’t tell anyone but I’m going to come out with an Ultra Premier Bible. Here’s the kicker… Four bookmarks… Yes you heard it here first. I’m going to make a killing 😂

What is a NKJV edition you would recommend? It's not a primary Bible for me but something I'd like to refer to and read once in a while. Must have premium binding and cover with concordance.
Hi Joe. There are several that I like a lot. This Humble Lamb is a nice one. I also like the Schuyler Quentel, Cambridge Clarion, and the Thomas Nelson Premier Collection (both the thinline and the single column). For preaching, the Thomas Nelson Preaching Bible is nice. It's the only one in verse-by-verse, which a lot of preachers prefer.
I'd appreciate it if you would please recommend a Chronological Bible. Thanks so much
Hi Elaine. For study Bibles, I've only seen the Thomas Nelson and Tyndale editions. I think both are good options. Between them, I'd buy based on the translation you like. For reading editions, I'd recommend the NKJV One Year Chronological Bible from Thomas Nelson. There may be others in different translations, but that's the only one I've used myself.
Does this Bible contain pictures of Jesus in the Dore pictures? I like the idea of the wood cuts, but I am kinda reticent about pictures of God (including Jesus, God the Son). Thanks and God bless you, I really enjoy your reviews and respect your opinions.

It’s NOT a translation. It’s one mans view of what the NT would like like if it had originally been written in Hebrew-which it wasn’t. The OT he just uses more Hebrew pronunciation for words. It’s a great choice for people who think sounding more Hebrew without actually knowing any Hebrew somehow makes them more spiritual than anyone else.

In your written review, it looks like there is noticeable banding on the art pages - almost like the printer was running out of ink as it printed the art. Is this just a trick of the camera, or is it noticeable in person? I noticed it particularly on the Ark image.
That's our photos. The printing is really good. The drawings are made of smaller lines and it was difficult to get the right lighting for them. Thanks for asking.
Thank you for the reply. I figured you would have mentioned it in the video or written review if it was an issue. Seems like a very nice Bible, the poetry in particular is wonderful. Seems that the rougher paper would be better for me, since I use pencil in my Bibles a lot. I've found rougher paper takes pencil marks better than "nicer" slick paper.

For me personally I love watching Bible reviews. BUT I do not think it is in good taste
to display your politics on the “how” you receive the Bible’s for your video’s. This is very distracting!
You, have a way of “whining” all the time. Let the Bible Reviewer do what he/she does best without your
two sense worth of negativity! When I see your name pop up....I just know you have something to whin about. Please clean up your remarks so some of us can appreciate the current video we our viewing. Most of the Bible videos I have watched they are not down talking the publishers.
Well, made in China ended it for me.
The only New Testament I have found that is translated from the original Hebrew is "The Book
of Yahweh". It is the only translation I have found that correctly
translates the first verses of the Book of John. Michael Rood found over 2000 errors in translations that came from the Greek.
I teresting because there is NO ORIGINAL HEBREW for the NT. It was written in the universal language of the time which was Koine Greek. You Hebrew wanna bees really think God is so powerless that he couldn’t preserve his word until now?
@@Nick-wn1xw Dr. Miles Jones found over 80 references to the original Hebrew manuscripts of the 4 Gospels. Luke, in particular, was written in both Hebrew and Greek by Luke. The Gospel of John was seriously mistranslated into Greek. God DID preserve His word in the Dead Sea Scrolls, so that now we have it...but NOT in the Christian Bible.
If you would do research on Zondervan you probably would not buy one of their Bibles
