Simon was asked why his name as creator was on it, and its because he DID create it, as virtually everybody associated with the show affirms. But he got that simply because, as he said, the network had no idea it would go on for thirty plus years. Most shows go about seven. HE knew it could go on, the network was idiots. Got NOTHING to do with Groening who was a junior partner.

He left Ralph 500,000 , the Bentley Raplh loved and drove , and small beach house on the Jersey shore . BTW, Sam had close to a billion dollars and most was left to saving animals so to me , Sam had a really good heart aside from the poker show .

People that have nothing to stop them from smoking can smoke a ton. Having an indoor job, money problems, or family members bitching about how much they’re smoking keeps a lot of smokers in check. Attell probably smoked so much because of boredom. Most comedians do nothing all day until they have to go on stage.
Nah, I went to school for audio engineering years ago &, one of my professors, a brilliant man, smoked 2 packs a day. He was rail thin, stunk of smoke , frog like voice and walked like molasses. Also, one of the most brilliant people you'd ever meet.

He's really not underrated his fans and comics all know he's truly one of the best ever. One of the best club comics highly regarded and respected.
