I want this box to be good SO BAD because I love Fall and could use a cute pumpkin spiced colored pick me up! Lets see if Decocrated disappoints or surprises us with this box! The bats are wayyyyy cuter...... It's too bad that they blew it with plaid pumpkins because "sweater weather" seem like maybe the two words you could forgive.
The pumpkin sign was annoying for me back almost all the letter almost match but are one out but the ones that don't match are completely different letters

I vote for the $200 re-creation. It would be nice to see exactly the type of stuff and quality you could find for $200 because some of the stuff in the subscription boxes I could probably find in the dollar store. Not all of it, but some of it, which is really disapointing when you're paying $90 per box.

I would love to see you do the "recreate the $200 worth of content" one. I think you are spot on that all of those items do not equal a total of $200 worth of goods. It's like when you would go to Gordmons and all the items have the "competitors price" of $60 but we're selling it for $30. No one ever acually pays the $60

I think what bothers me most about the pumpkin side of the sign is the fact that the "plaid" looks more like a picnic cloth or summer kitchen towel pattern...It's not very fall-like...Great video! Loved it!
That’s so true. I thought it was kinda cute but something was off and I couldn’t figure out what. I think it would make more sense for fall next to the pumpkins though
Lol what bugs me about the plaid pumpkin signs was it reminded me hard core of the cheapo cutesy country decor look of the ‘90’s that we leaned so hard into. 😂 It was like a bad dream coming back to haunt. I’m of that unfortunate decor era & boy did we lean in 😂😳😂
That, and as my 5th grade art teacher used to say, "It's a good idea to avoid having too many ideas on the same piece."

I say do three levels. As inexpensive as possible for a comparable quality, see what $90 gets and go hog wild with a $200 budget and all this can be considered tax write offs anyway since it’s contributing to a video

Besides the pink, sweater weather (to me) is colder than fall. It looks like they mashed fall and winter together.

for the pumpkin sign, it mostly bothers me because the pumpkins are just, floating. and they look a little realistic and it throws me off. whereas the other side it's soft and painted
I think the sweater weather being written on plain white while the pumpkins have a full plaid background makes it look unfinished. I bet putting the plaid and orange pumpkin kind of in front to the side of it would make it look better!
It's the lack of a sweater for me.
It's also that the lettering is flushed (equal) compared to the Halloween one.

I loved the double-sided sign in theory, but I wasn't impressed with the one in the box. I agree that there's something not quite right about the pumpkin side. I think it's the red background. It looks odd with the pumpkins.
It was the plaid that made it too much for me

I think you should go for getting close to whats in the box but cheaper. Doesn’t have to be the cheapest options, definitely don’t get something you don’t like just because it’s cheaper, but go for overall the total being less than the $90 you paid.
The reason the plaid and pumpkin side of the sign looks "wrong" is because the red and blue do not go with the oranges of the pumpkins. If they had used the SAME colors it would have looked fine.

Ooo bring back the mystery wheel for the style of recreation! I love the mystery wheel so every month you can spin the wheel after you unbox the decocrated box to see what rules you have to follow to recreate it. Honestly- I don't see the value of this box and won't get it, but I watch it every time because I love to see your recreate the box.

You know what, you bring up such a good point because the summer people talk about how it’s summer in May. I’ve heard ads saying it’s summer in April (they drive me crazy lol.) I can get my autumn vibes and excitement a little early too lol
To me the happy halloween side looked more "minimal" while the sweater weather side had way more details. Not only it had the plaid background, but the pumpkins looked like they had more details themselves and the result was a bit confusing/messy to my eyes when compared to the cute little bats

"Who's in charge of California?" I was dying over here. I live in California, and we do have those signs everywhere. I laughed quite a bit when I was in line for my COVID shot because I was on a side of the hospital that I usually didn't see, and there was a sign by the door saying there were cancer-causing chemicals in the hospital. I understand why the signs are there, but it's a joke amongst my friends and I.

I think the way you've done it in the past makes the most sense - picking out comparable or better versions of the same items, and adding up the cost. Alternatively, setting a budget of $90 and putting together a box you would have liked to receive for Fall.
I'm on the third item and so far, everything looks like it's just dollar store decorations. Which is fine, but usually not in a box that's supposed to be higher end. I feel like I could get this stuff at Dollar General.

I fully agree with you, fall is my favorite time of the year. I love everything fall and Halloween 🎃... But this box is definitely not worth the money

I think it's the floating pumpkins with the full plaid background and the winter berry branch.. it should've just been a more orange plaid and maybe pumpkins in the bottom corners

YES to the 200$ recreation. Usually I think that the items found are functionally and visually similar, but for reason x and y I can see how maybe the version in the crate costs a bit more... so buying high quality similar objects while keeping the bill under or around 200$ will be really interesting, we get to make the opposite comparison.

Loved your Home Goods remake of this box...so worth it and you can get what you actually like. I would have preferred autumnal "greenery" rather than the green... I'd give this one up if I were you. Go to Home Goods and have a party!
The back of the word panel is probably MDF! It's made out of fine wood shavings packed together at medium density, it's usually used on the back of shelves and such from stores like Ikea

yeah, regarding hobby lobby - it seems like so many creators on youtube (and probably other platforms) doing holiday decor shopping type of videos are oblivious to the fact that the founder/ceo is intensely anti-lgbt+, against providing employees access to birth control, got such discrimination legally sanctioned for "religious reasons," and donates huge amounts of money to organizations that espouse his same opinions. if you value equality and human rights, then you definitely don't want to give hobby lobby your business.
You could wrap the green garland around the base of the candle holder. Of course, that would remind me of how I decorated my apartment 20+ years ago.

the pic in that magazine of "inspiration" where everything was white with that green and the dark orange that looked almost red screamed christmas vibes to me, unless you actually see the pumpkins in the "fireplace" there's nothing autumn-y about it

There's something about the sweater weather side that reminds me of precious moments and I can't explain why. Growing up precious moments used to freak me out so that side of the sign kinda makes me feel uncomfy.

The sweater weather sign from a distance the pumpkins seem like a heart shape and then with the red it almost gives me valentine's day vibes instead of fall.
Like maybe if it was more of a brown or maroon would work better? Halloween sign is definitely cuter.

With the double sided sign, the problem for me was that the sweater weather side lacked contrast. It's was all one warm colored blob from a distance, where the bats stood out with their simple shapes and plain background. Maybe if they had removed the plaid, or used it in the bottom portion it would look more appealing.
Also, as much as I would love to see you do the whole $200 recreation, save that money for your wedding! The homegoods comparison is so much fun, or even the $90 would be cool.

I vote for all the recreations! I also think doing a super cheap versus 200$ trip would help showcase the different levels of quality and if we really think decocrated is closer to the cheap end or high end.
Definitely the $200 recreation! Because we wanna see all the nice stuff you get. You could either try get 1 good quality item to match with each “category” in the box (a tray, greenery, candle holder, picture, plaque, decoration) or just buy $200 worth of fall things you think would make up a good subscription box!

That little "Happy Halloween" thing with the bats is so damn cute!! The sweater weather side, I think would have looked better with just a plaid or sweater texture at the top? No pumpkins. I agree that the black cake-stand and candle holder were the best though. (I'd use them for cupcakes and real candles too!!)

We've had three weeks of summer, at the most, here in northern Minnesota. The cold, wet spring lasts through July. Now cold weather is here. So the words "welcome to fall" are a bit of a trigger for me LOLLLL. Then again - I share your aversion to pieces of wood with words - they're the worst. Decocrated is definitely in a rut. And they never finish their wood! These people need to learn how to sand and stain! You could probably do a $40 challenge and do better than this box.

These boxes always remind me of the seasonal decor amscan makes for party cities and other party stores.
I think the little red bits on the white pumpkin on the sign gives off more Christmassy vibes and perhaps that’s why it seems off?

If the plaid on the sweater weather side of the Halloween plaque was gray or green, it would be much cuter. A cooler tone would make the pumpkins pop off the background.

I would go with $200 dollars option but you still have your wedding to think about. I would go with a combo of choice 2 & 3. Get better things that go with your decor and personal style, like inside of the flat wooden pumpkins get the pretty pumpkins that are actually shaped like a real pumpkin. I hope that makes sense, so like 3D instead of 2D. Avoid the plaque, get something that represents the idea of autumn. Make it more you!💜
I was so excited to see your video pop up. I would like to see an actual $90 box. The items in that box could easily be replicated for under $50 from a combination of Target, Wal-mart, Marshals, and Dollar Tree or Dollar General.
I loved it when you re-created the box in the past! I think giving yourself a $90 budget and getting similar items that you really like for that amount of money is the way to go. We all know they aren't sending you $200 worth of goods. The real question is, are they even sending you $90 worth?
