Honestly you can still go for it, I just messed up because when I was doing the cleanings to the printer I got the motherboard part wet. Just don’t do what I did and you should be fine and make sure you keep up with printings and cleanings.
If you want to give this a go... You would have a go at getting to the motherboard... If you do ... I suggest giving it a good clean with 99.99% isotopic alcohol and use a kids tooth brush.. Let it air dry and then either repeat the process again... Or use contact spray and make sure no ink washes out from under any of the chips... Re assemble and check see if it will boot without the errors.... If you have already got rid of the print no worries, if you have time to give it ago and you still have the old printer or need this in the future 👍
Hey, have you ever tried the DTF white backing ink with Sublimation Inks for the other colors? Was just curious how its come out. The DTF inks look so thick to me, but of course, to print on black and cotton you need the DTF white, but was thinking using Sublimation Ink for the other colors might cut down on the thick look. Was just looking to have the look more closer to sublimation where the ink looks more like part of the material instead of looking like something that's just sitting on top of the material.
i just did a full clean on my printer and as soon as i put everything back and started printing again, the colors are off and the white isn't going on the back of the designs like they were in the beginning... any tips?
Quick question, on this printer do you have to make sure the transfer comes out perfectly flat? Like do you have to put a thin board inside the output tray area?? I had an et8550 which is junk and I had to do that.
@@Healher_7 Quick question, I have seen a few videos on this printer and some say to buy the chip resetter and some say to buy the key BUT what is it for? Is it for the maintenance box or for the ink cartridges? I will be buying the CHIPless ink cartridges and will have a supply of maintenance boxes. So do I still need the activation key thing??
@@Healher_7 did you have to buy that activation key? I am confused because another video shows that you have to buy a key. In my mind if I buy the reillable ink cartridges and keep a supply of maintenace boxes I wont need that activation key. Can you please help me?? TIA :)
So is there a major difference in the 2 printers besides the price point. I know they both print the same size and I heard both have the same print quality (is that true?)..Just want to know what makes this printer stands out vs the XP-15000.
Everything you said is absolutely correct, I think for me the main difference is the ink set up, with the 8550 they have the ET tank so you can either fill those tanks or buy a ciss system. With the 15000 you can drain the carts or buy replacement carts off Amazon. Other than that they both are very similar but so far I like the 8550!
I’m in the same boat mine prints but won’t print anything 😅 I have a 8550 but it’s got some kind of issue aswell I’m so over this I’m thinking of just getting a actual dtf printer
@@Healher_7 oh ok. I am getting mine on Wednesday. I have done months of research, I tried refurbishing an L1800, but it will take quite a bit to get it going, so in the meantime I chose to go with this model for price and ease of converting. So were you able to get prints out of it? If so how many do you think you got out of a days work?
@@jjsmsalas1 so I did get some use out of it and you can get a good amount of prints, I just messed mine up because I was cleaning in the danger zone which was the motherboard area.
oh no i was so invested. was looking forward to the results. i started adding the printer to my amazon cart. they have it for $329 at the moment

@@Healher_7 okay thank you for the response. i will also lookup other videos just so that i am comfortable with my purchase.
Did you get the printer and convert it?

What did you use for the ICC profile for the ink you are using? I cannot seem to find this anywhere.
Can I get started without the ciss? It won’t be delivered until mid May😢
Thanks for sharing this info...I have both printers that I want to convert. I would like know if a ciss can be used on the xp15000?
Yes I believe you can use a ciss system for XP15000.
Hey did you have to add a hose to yours I seen someone mess around with the hoses on the side

Honestly no I have not but like you I am curious to see how that would hold up.

also, i'm using the xp15000
dont use a ciss system, it will clog your head
Yo I have same setup and when I tried to run first print I got paper jam issue with no paper jam. Know of a solution?
i have this same issue at the moment, did you find a solution for this?

The 15000 is a little better at your images laying flat without a board but you still want to have that extra layer of protection.

If you didn't already throw the printer away, I would love take it off your hands for parts. I can pay for shipping.
You gonna trash the XP15000?
I ended up giving it away for parts.
