    we need to compete and win at least 6 to 7 games period. to much money involved to not have a competitive team.

      Yurachek said in that interview about Musselman leaving that the football program needed to get back to winning 7-8 games. I don't think 6-6 in his 5th year is going to save Pittman

    Uhhhh...arguably the toughest schedule in an expanded SEC ...coming off a 4-8 season...underwhelming recruiting and portal classes..losing close winnable game after close winnable game...if its NOT the hottest i'd like to know who's is hotter...

      Yepper, that's just about it in a nutshell. Just getting to 6-6 is going to require winning every game in which the Hogs aren't underdogs AND a couple of upsets as well. Can it happen? Yeah, sure. Will it happen? Ummm...I am not convinced. And the first two games will tell. The Hogs have to beat UAPB by, oh, say, 56-7 and look damn good while doing it and then they have to go to Stillwater and be super-competitive with OSU, to the point of actually winning that game. Anything less than those results and the red flags go up and Pittman's seat starts getting hotter.

    I honestly think you had some team issues last year that were bubbling just under the surface. When that Offense sputtered, and the O line was exposed. We were lucky to win 4 games last year. I think you have a better team this year in a lot of ways. I believe with Petrino running the offense, T will in his second year with some returning talent; you are going to see a much-improved team. I'm calling 8 wins. I think the hogs have a phenomenal year at home this year. And I am calling the Auburn Game. Hogs go to Jordan Hare and get the win!!!!!

    I would guess that, yes, Pittman's seat is the hottest in the SEC. It is the downward trajectory from 9-4 to 7-6 to 4-8 that's causing it. There MUST be a rebound and 6-6 is the bare minimum for the regular season. Anything less than that and he's gone.

  • @AlanDarden-ys4uw

    The big difference between Pittman and Napier is that Napier is losing with top ten recruiting classes and Pittman is still outperforming his recruting rankings.

    • @elmerfudpucker5387
      @elmerfudpucker5387 Місяць тому

      Arkansas football recruiting rankings are usually between 20-30 nationally. When was the last time Arkansas finished in the top 25 poll? Pittman definitely isn't outperforming anything

      @@elmerfudpucker5387 and he is outranked in those rankings by almost 70% of the teams we play. So I would say prior to last year he has outperformed his recruiting on the field. He finished 3rd in the West and then 5th in the West the previous 2 years so that's much higher than the ranking for recruiting against other teams in the SEC West. Hard to finish in the top 25 when play a minimum of 3 teams in the top 10

    While it is easy to blame Sam for hiring Dan Enos as OC last year, everyone from Hunter Yurachek to the media and fans were all thumbs up to the hire. And why not? Enos had a stellar record at his previous stint at Arkansas. Nobody, including Sam, could have foreseen the inability of KJ and the rest of the offense to adapt to all of the complexities and new wrinkles that Enos tried to install in such a short period of time. Besides that, Razorback fans, by and large, expect immediate results and gratification, which is not realistic for the current program.

      @elmerfudpucker5387 You're referring to the Bret (not Bert) Bilema era. The interim Athleletic director, Julie Cromer People's, who fired Bilema, was the same genius who hired Chad Morris. All of us "Homers" remember what a great hire that was. Get with the program, Elmer.

    Anybody with half a brain knows Sam Pittman has no business being the head coach. When you first have to have Barry Odom to help him out and now bringing back Petrino to show him what to do, it's pretty obvious he's in over his head. Hell, he even admitted after a game last year that he didn't know what to do during a critical moment of that game. Arkansas football is a laughing stock not only in the SEC but now nationally by bringing Pittman back. As long as he's in charge, the program will continue to fall behind. Now with OU and Texas joining the conference, that's two more schools that are more committed to winning than the UofA.
