syntakt is a sweet spot machine. randomize just gives you great sounds 3/4 of the time. amazing. digitone not so much on the fm synth but fm drum seems to have more sweet spots. really awesome stuff
It’s Non remorse GAS though 😂. This and the new Digitakt 2 is just loony. I can go on there just press some random buttons and ARPs in a second and it’s a beat. lol Unorthodox but fun 🤩
The OG Digitone has a max for live device that makes it into the best FM Drum machine out there. You can select what type to generate, like Kick, Snare, Clap, Hat, or Tom and just click and it will instantly make random one shots in those categories, it's brilliant.
The randomization is sick, but if you can learn these synth engines by heart and can practice making drum sounds from scratch effectively, you will be a beast with live improvisation. Also approaching it with more precision allows you to make less video gamey sounds if that’s what you’re going for (even though I love the video gamey timbre the DN II can have).
That FX track on the syntakt is the only thing digitone 2 is missing. Automation of efx in-machine would be absolutely awesome, but we still have Midi.

Would this machine be OK for a complete beginner? I want to create some. Music for my cinematic hiking videos. And would I need other kit to export the tracks?
This is a basic question: “as of now I’m in a completely blank pattern” … ok but how did you get there? FUNC-PLAY just clears the sequencer data. How do you reset all the machines to a sine wave like you have at the start of this video?

This is so good. Controlling with Torso T-1 with midi channels set with random on is ALL SORTS OF FUN!

I did not randomize the pitch, just the synth parameters. Try the pitch window too though!
