Hence why I never "trust" Best Motoring. Time and Time again, we see things in these vids that show blatant favoritism. Whether it's drivers mis-shifting at key moments, cars behaving strangely fast/slow on that last straightaway-- this show isn't a true all out test. Instead, it is a *fun* thing to watch, with nice rare collections of cars.
Weight is an issue (1630kg...ouch) and the unwillingness to move away from a 2.0 I4 turbo. Chassis wise, the Evo X is stiffer and has a more advanced S-AWC unit than Evo IX, but low power/weight ratio is simply too much. On bright side, the Evo X is a better everyday car; thanks to climate control and cruise control as well as other goodies missing from Evo IX...
I think the IX had something done to it. Every car there had more power that it and it pulled on everything on the straights and it look like the SST started over heating at the end. Missing 4th going straight to 5th ive had this happen to me with some spirited driving in the hills in SD.

The Skyline driver was in the bathroom when they were assigning which class of cars would run in which heat. Either that, or he couldn't find the keys to the Infiniti 37xS
Michael Pascual FQ's are the most powerful production EVO's ever made but I think the Limited Final Edition Evo X that's coming out soon is going to be the fastest one yet.
Michael Pascual No problem. Yeah, it's all personal preference. I used to prefer the IX over the X as well but I just can't imagine living with an IX. The X is a car that can be daily driven, but still a pretty harsh car to commute on a daily basis.
Nothing was done to these cars. The Japanese versions of the engines are built differently and factory tuned differently than their US counterparts. The JDM Subaru EJ207 has a flatter torque curve and more power throughout than the US EJ257, and has better response than the JDM Mitsu 4G63. The Evo Xs have more safety features, but no real bump in power, hence why it does better in the corners than the GDB and Evo IX, but falls flat in the straights.

what the evo needs is an accolade gt400 body kit, jun turbo upgrade, jun gt surge tank and one good tuning job.
Loving that ayc gauge on the evo. interesting to see what the electronic is doing to help the car turn
And remember, this battle didn't have the 2008 GRB-A Impreza STi, which embarrassed the GDB-F, the IX MR, and BOTH X versions that battled here.
That CZ4A Evo 10, Initial-D 7 AA X arcade game brings here, that new car.
素晴らしいプログラムがありますが、英語の字幕を与えれば、それはより一般的かもしれません。
What a crazy ass video - I wish I knew what these guys are saying .
I LOVE EVO SST 6 spd. MR's !!!

The red Evo 10 doing a good corner turn

EVO wins again!!
ls evo-lution baby!!!!
anyone else find that the caption translation doesn't make any sense?
And the EVO X FQ-400 or FQ-440?
The nissan skyline should've just go the wrong way just for fun :)
they should have the new subaru too
AWD vs RWD?
They should put Evo X MR vs Impreza Spec C RAR
the MR is the heaviest Evo, if you want to test it agains Spec C the Evo should be a RS
LucasHammond What about the MR-RS? Also, what about the Impreza Type RA-R? By the way, which is the fastest and more powerful variant for the Evo 9?

dAbaPEsTA123 I see. Thanks for that info. Evo 9s are my favorite Evos. Not very attracted to the 10th but 7th are as good as the 9th for me.
Michael Pascual No problem.
