I’m doing a catch here. I loved that diamond ring you found. All your gold was a worth a good pay day for sure. Congrats Oh before I forget. I always wondered what you look like. So when you gave the peace sign in your car window one day I took a picture. Why do you hide? Not bad. No I’m not fishing. I’m old enough to remember to be your mom. LOL Your my favorite one to watch so keep digging. ✌️
Hi 👋🏻 Dan, I saw this but didn’t do a comment. I watched it again! This was a pretty good New Year Day. I wish you the best for the rest of the year ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Great place to detect. Got to love a bit of beach detecting after a storm and see what been brought up. Best wishes in 2024 from wet, windy, darkest Lancashire, England.
Nice ring mate, but i had already see the short 😂😂😂. We go for the 100 this year and i now you will do that!!! Than i try that to 😂. Gongrads and on to the next video 👍👍👍
There's something interesting regarding those rocks that washed up on Seabright but a little context is needed. Usually when something really big changes the beach in some way, you'll get a ton of old and often heavy stuff washing up. Changes like the waves taking out the whole beach and leaving only rocks, or if construction crews are digging up old structure and disturbing the sand. These kind of things can produce awesome opportunities for detecting. There's also the theory that if historically there has been stuff found at a particular location, then you're for sure going to find something if the sand has been disturbed a ton. One example of this is tides ave back in the summer. Before the cut formed, I was already finding coins there. However when the cut formed, I found a ton more and older stuff too. This is true for Seabright, historically you're gonna find more can slaw the closer you get to the San Lorenzo river. However this might have changed when the two sand stone rocks appeared. My theory is that the rock acts as a barrier which allows heavier objects to settle in front of it when the waves bring up stuff; much like how when gold curves around bends in a river, it gets caught on gravel bars. These rocks may be allowing heavier stuff like those rings you found to get stuck in front of it and thus giving detectorists an opportunity to find them whereas before they'd find nothing. Needs more testing though, but today I found a 1964 silver dime practically in front of the rocks , so that's another anecdote to add to the theory.
That makes sense to me! I always check that rock to measure the movement of the sand. Seabright has been good to me in the past. I’m curious to see what Tides looks like right now. I’ve been on the road in SoCal for the last 12 days. Conditions were awesome down there 💍💍💍
@@MontereyMagnetMan yeah ngl it's real rough out here. Blacks beach coughed up a small 14k pendant on the dry but not much else as the rocks started rolling in, and less finds started showing up. Even New Brighton has been barren. Low hopes for tides tbh, but maybe it's worth to check out when I can. Cycled through all the good Santa Cruz beaches already and found very little. Might need a change of pace in a different city!
@@TSiriusz that’s a bummer. I have a theory that it takes a few years to reload the beaches. Since we got stripped super hard last year it may have needed more time to replenish the good jewelry drops. Also I feel like our summer just didn’t hit this year, way less tourists than I remember. Have you checked north at all? Like panther beach, Davenport, etc?
@@MontereyMagnetMan Haven't cause historically no luck with those beaches. I should go again though, but my hopes are not high for those beaches regardless, due to low traffic. But I should try anyways just in case. Merrill believes there's thousands of pieces of jewelry on beaches just buried under the sand, but if there's no sand there's no finds, only slaw. Working theory is that there needs to be a perfect balance between not sanded in and completely stripped. It kinda showed up in New Brighton, but not to the degree of last year where people (myself included) were finding tons of coins silver, and even gold! (I personally only found silver). Moran for sure I thought would produce, but it just got sanded in again after being stripped. So maybe you're right where the beaches need to build back up again after being super hunted out last year. last summer was metal detecting hell for me, so I took up fishing for some time lol. Thought there would be more finds in the winter, but so far outta luck for now. I'll keep you updated on any good beaches I come across. The sands are always shifting, and shifting fast, so gotta move fast too. At least i'm getting my steps in hitting 5 beaches in a single days worth of hunting.
@@MontereyMagnetMan checked out panther beach today, no dice. mostly trash and few coins and it was a bit difficult to get down to the beach cause a little stream washed out the path; with the alternative path being a bit hazardous to traverse. Davenport had more coins but no coin line or significant amount of targets. But the targets were still more than seabright and new brighton for the size of the beach. Blacks beach is in the stage where all the targets are definitely hunted out and rocks are coming in. So less stuff is ending up higher and there's nothing lower on the beach. Super jelly of your orange county hunts, cause it's incredibly dry out here (aside from the massive storm coming in preventing any hunts until next week). I'd probably find more stuff hunting the grass at parks!
Not enough "reality"!!! You actually scored pretty good.... I'm very happy to see the beaches that I know so well....😎🕊️ Thank you for your efforts and letting me hang out with you!!!
I honestly haven’t cleaned any coins yet, I need to get on that. But it seems like putting them in a rock tumbler is the most efficient way. For the jewelry I soak it in CLR or “barkeepers friend” works good too. If you clean silver you can do the vinegar and baking soda method. I haven’t tried that yet but I’ve seen it done a few times and it works great.
If you’re hunting a beach with no black sand that will definitely work. But on some of my beaches with heavy black sands, it makes quarters and high tones a 98-99 or -19.
I think that one ring that you think is a ring might be the inside of a bearing. That is what it looks like from here. But for you, I hope it is a ring! I also went out New Year’s Day. I was hoping to find jewelry and a ring. I did! Three kids bracelets that were made of beads and one rubber ring. L O L good luck on your next hunt! I hope you have a great year!
Beautiful chain! The clasp is a easy fix. I have one like that, that needs the same repair. The box in your car is getting pretty full. How long have you been adding to it?
Some of my best digs of all time are past the time I want to leave or have to leave. I don't leave till a battery dies or the police kick me out like last night 😆
If that 1944 was steel and not copper it would be worth a small fortune. Also check the weight of the coin .If the weight is different than standard you could have some money.Of course condition is important
I wasn't hitting the dry mind you, I just saw you and headed the other direction. First encounter with the Monterey magnet man! Your luck on the boardwalk and cowell beach is way better than my own. I hit that beach first in the monring and just didn't find anything interesting, afterwards I hit seabright to the right then hightailed it to the left side after I saw you.
Thank you for Ringing💍💍 in the New Year. I hope that you can fix the nice chain. I hope that the penny is a good one. I read of one penny was worth over a thousand dollars. I read that a Minnesota State coin sold for two hundred dollars.
let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
way to "ring in" the new year !!
😂😂😂
CONGRATS ON THE SILVER . Daniel did you add up all your clad from last year . Good video . 💙💛

Good start to 2024
I can't wait to get a good metal detector. I've only ever used the analog ones and watching these videos is making me want to go detecting.
Too funny 1st ring of the year 🎉🎉
It’s just barely a ring 😂😂
Happy New Year 🥳 🎉Daniel
Happy new year! ☺️
Awesome finds congratulations brother
Thank you! 🤙🤙
Great video, thanks for taking us along with you!
Glad you enjoyed it 🤙😁

Nice hunt; those rings have had better days. Still adds to the ring count. Nice silver chain
Congratulations on your first ring of the year...and I hope you find many more in the new year..😊😊😊😊😊
First ring looks like a bearing inner wire
Thank you 👍
from 100 to 93 rings...well if at first you don't succeed, lower your expectations....🤣 Wear the chain and pretend to go to work☺
Ooh I like that even better! 😂😂
I was cracking up when you said you'll pretend to wear the chain to work😂😂

That's not a ring. I think it should've had some bearings in it.
Awesome, 👏🏻 fried rings, but hey, they count! Can’t wait for the next video!
Back to old topic. I have a idea. On the equinox dreded 98 china signal. I'm going to try notching out 98 and 99 . And probably won't miss any silver.

Now get the gold!
Stay tuned! 😉

Happy New Year. Great start for the year!!!

Think there is a rare cause most are steel? Gl on that Dan
Congrats on the two rings and the silver chain great way to start the year.
I see you've started the new year without zip ties and bungee cords. 😅
Yea I put the new scoop on. The old one finally broke all the way

Why is everybody standing? Does anyone sit on the beach there? Just an observation lol
lol I didn’t notice that until you pointed it out! Everyone is just kinda walking around aimlessly 😂😂
