Personally am a huge fan of 3D Allstars (weird I know but I guess it's because of it being the only Sunhine rerelease) and I wonder how they'll deal with those titles. They are really needed and I strongly believe that 2020 was already too late for them and the game could've helped in the earlier years of the Switch. Especially as a non limited game. It's insane to me that you had to wait almost 2 years for NES and almost 3 for SNES games. Playing past games on the Switch was just not a thing for a long time. Except Wii U games I guess. Especially bad for newcomers like me in 2018. My only option was to buy older consoles or to buy the Arcade Archives versions of Super Mario Bros., Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong.

They also need to release a NSMB all stars with ds, Wii, and 2. And even a rerelease of the original Super Mario all stars with ports or remakes of other games like the advance games, SMB deluxe, SMW, etc
I’m curious if you have any thoughts on Nintendo’s rhythm technology, whether it’s meaningful or not. With games like Mario Wonder, Mario Odyssey, Rhythm Heaven, Ring Fit Adventure, and (way back when) Wii Music, Nintendo has a lot of experience connecting rhythm with gameplay (and doing so with accuracy). Not sure how unique that is, but since the Nintendo Music app proved they also see great value in their massive music library, I think a new rhythm game IP or significant mode utilizing Nintendo music tracks is a pretty good bet in the medium term.
What we need is a 3D Mario game that celebrates the Mario Bros. It’s been Miyamoto’s dream to have a full fledged 2 player Mario game. It’s common knowledge that Luigi was originally in Super Mario 64 but got cut out at the eleventh hour. Miyamoto kind of got his wish in 2009 and 2013 respectively with New Super Mario Bros Wii and Super Mario 3D World, but both games had time limits and were on rails. There should be a free roaming 2 player Mario game where the second player is Luigi instead of a Luma or Cappy. Imagine Miyamoto seeing Mario and Luigi running around a 3D environment in HD.
Next year is also likely when we'll see marketing for the Super Mario Bros Movie 2, which will likely boost sales of the Switch 2 and its Mario games in the following year when it releases
The Captain Toad DLC was developed by NST, the developer I also expect to pick up any future entries in that series. If EPD Tokyo has to juggle both 3D Mario and DK, then Captain Toad would otherwise fall by the wayside

Not necessarily a prediction, but it'd be wild to see MercurySteam tackle the Wario Land series after Metroid 6 releases. After all, the old, internal 2D Metroid team used to work on the Wario Land titles before Shake It, yeah? If a future Wario Land game was more exploration focused like the games before Shake It, I think Nintendo could certainly do a lot worse than what's seemingly the new 2D Metroid devs. Having a studio that has primarily made games in grittier and gloomy series (Metroid and Castlevania) tackle a franchise that's more cartoony would certainly be interesting. MercurySteam's style may seem too far askew for a Mario satellite series, but Retro Studios also went to Donkey Kong Country after the Metroid Prime trilogy, so you never know. Plus, Wario *does* have grotesque/gross-out elements at times, which I could see better fit MercurySteam than something like a Yoshi or Peach game. But maybe, like Retro Studios unexpectedly going from Metroid to Donkey Kong, MercurySteam will tackle a series no one would expect. In my opinion, I think Good-Feel better suit Yoshi, Peach, and/or Kirby spinoffs rather than Wario. Also, Metroid Dread essentially went perfectly for Nintendo, Sakamoto, and MercurySteam (mostly). Aside from the slight game crediting scuffle after the game launched, it sold very well for Metroid and got credited at the Game Awards. Nintendo is likely to keep them close by, so after Metroid 6, if MercurySteam wanted to sell (for whatever reason), I could see Nintendo buying the studio outright (if the two continue to have warm relations). What do you think?
Nintendo buying MercurySteam entirely depends on if their primary owner, Nordisk Film, is willing to part with their 40% stake in the company, no? I also imagine that Nintendo would want to leverage their action-centric expertise for something like Star Fox, rather than Wario Land, which would more likely return to Good-Feel or go to a company like WayForward or maybe even Velan (especially if Wario World were to get a followup - feel like it'd be hard to find a better team than the successor company to the Crash N. Sane trilogy developer).
I could see a port of Wolly World and a Captain Toad sequel happening considering he appear in one of the rides in Super Nintendo and how he was kind of reference in the movie with the backpack. A trailer for the second Mario movie is also likely since that's releasing next year so they have to start advertising soon for it, although it will be a while before we see anything from Peach and I agree that Luigi's Mansion 4 is something that would be 2026 since we already got 2 HD.

A Destruction focused game like Blast Corps on N64 would be ideal for a Bowser game. In that game you had to destroy buildings and terrain to clear the path for a runaway truck containing nuclear warheads
I would expect Geno (from Mario RPG) to make playable appearances in a few titles like these. - An action-oriented RPG, featuring him as the protagonist. Same treatment as Snufkin, but with combat. Combat style is reminiscent of Kingdom Hearts, with puzzles being similar to Wandersong and Melody of Moominvalley. - A brand-new Mario Kart, with a few newcomers. Only for Switch 2. - A movie-themed party game, titled "Mario Party: Lights, Camera, Action!". - New versions of Fortune Street and Mario Sports Mix. - And of course, Super Smash 6. Only for Switch 2.

My prediction is that the next 2D Mario will be a sequel to Wonder. That game came on Switch last year and received no post-launch content (even Odyssey had), I don't think we will see any 2D Mario until 2026.
I'd LOVE another Captain Toad game! Yoshi is definitely gonna get the spotlight after DK has had his time in the sun. Woolly World is top tier but he'll surely play a substantial part in the next 3D Mario, along with Galaxy 2 bringing him to the forefront.

I am a very casual fan of Mario, but with new hardware I think it would be neat to have a game based on the movie. There were some unique takes on Mushroom Kingdom, for example. I can’t recall a Mario level being a forest of mushrooms. Anyway, I am sure it won’t happen.

What I'm more curious about is how Nintendo will treat the games included in 3D Allstars. Technically the game isn't being sold so it's questionable if they get a Switch 2 Patch if that's actually a thing they do. I can see them making a 64 Remake and bringing Sunshine maybe to NSO but Galaxy? Technically Sunshine via NSO would also be worse than on 3D Allstars because of the missing enhancements. And my thoughts don't even include Galaxy 2 but the fact that SM64 gets a Remake. The worst case scenario is just SM64 via NSO and maybe Sunshine as well. And that would be quite sad since I'm a big fan of SM64, Sunshine and SMG 1&2. Not having them on the next console or only in a crappy NSO subscription version sounds unfortunate. Yes, I own 3D Allstars but I know that many don't. As an owner of 3D Allstars I don't just want to play in the standard configuration (720p/1080p). That's a thing I can do on the Switch as well.
I think Wario Land (or something adjacent) has better chances than you think. Pizza Tower was a massive indie hit, and that game was literally designed to be Wario Land 5. Not to mention Wario can appeal to an older demographic that feel as if they are aging out of Mario games, but might not be quite ready for games as challenging as the new Zeldas.
I think what's going to happen for 2025 for the Mario series is this Games: We're going to see a new Mario Kart game on the Switch and I maybe wrong, but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was a port of the Wii U game and the DLC tracks are pretty much reused assists from Mario Kart Tour so a New Mario Kart game on the Switch could or could not happen, Dr. Mario I can see happening because the last Dr. Mario game on a Nintendo Platform was Dr. Mario Miracle Cure on Nintendo 3DS and We're long overdue for a Mario Baseball, Now this may be very unlikely, but Super Mario 3D All-Stars could return and it'll have DLC with Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario 3D Land, We may see a New Super Mario All-Stars collection with New Super Mario Bros. 1, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and New Super Mario Bros. 2 aswell. Nintendo Switch Online: We'll see Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for the Gameboy Color come to NSO Online the big announcement: Nintendo, Universal and Illumination will drop the teaser trailer for the Super Mario Bros. movie 2 and in addition, the next Super Mario 3D Game is in the works and will launch with the Switch successor for Holiday 2026. Keep in mind March 10th is Mar10 day and the small announcement like Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, will be announced on Mar10 day aswell as the new cast for the Super Mario Bros. movie 2 and they give us a trailer drop around September or October 2025 for the Super Mario Bros. movie 2 trailer.

@@ConculusHydro But, I see them making a Sunshine Remake eventually. Maybe it takes years but the Sunshine community really starts to grow as the people who grew up with the game start to get nostalgic. And nostalgia sells. I could even see them including ideas from planned development since the game needs a tiny overhaul anyways and including new content is always neat. It could actually be a Sunshine 1.5 if it happens. Or they don't add new content at all but still remake Peak which is also fine.
@jesse4437 I agree. Nintendo should make an NSMB collection which contains the 3 NSMB games, (NSMBDS, NSMBWii, and NSMB2.) not NSMBU because that game is already on the switch titled as New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
@@ignatiousmary8413 The thing I'm curious about is how they would do NSMB 2 and especially NSMBDS. They aren't fitted for modern screens and NSMBDS kinda even has a different style. And I'm just not sure if they would put that much effort into the handheld titles. NSMBWii is rather straight forward. Looks even great when upscaled to 4K and the few textures that don't can easily be updated. Just replacing the HUD might even be enough. NSMBDS and NSMB 2 just don't work the same way. For the same reason I hate that Nintendo offers N64 games in HD but at least there they have a CRT option that makes them look more like intended.
@@mr.cringe61 That's true because Porting NSMBWii to the switch will be easier. They ported NSMBU to the switch with no problems, but NSMBDS, and NSMB2 are on the DS & 3DS consoles.
No mention of SUper Mario Galaxy 2 ? As that has not been re-released yet. So that could come out for the 40th anniversary of Mario and hopefully a bit better than the mess that was the 3D ALL-Stars with its lack of extras outside of the games official Soundtracks. I mean honestly it would be great to see some behind the scenes development on some of these 3D Mario games, right ? I would love to see Nintendo throw fans a bone and acknowledge the fandom and their love for Bowsette. I would also love a remaster take on the Wario Land games. Maybe a remaster of these iconic games for a new generation of players.

@@technobladeleakedclips1827 3D Allstars is still the most overhated game out there. $60 for the most popular 3D Marios with so many hours of content in the best official way? I don't know what the expections were. You can't modify an N64 game to look modern. It doesn't work. Making it availble near original makes sense. Especially for fans. And remaking every game is such a weird expectation. Spyro and Crash were only possible since those were shorter games, all released on the same console with the same artstyle and similar visuals and mechanics. You could reuse so much for the other games.
Someday I hope Nintendo realizes WarioWare didn’t just cost us a great franchise in Wario Land, but actively hurts their brand as a whole. Every time they announce one of those awful little games I find myself distancing myself from Nintendo’s brands. They are Nintendo at their very worst and it’s a broken branch that’s long overdue to be cut off.
Nintendo recently has grown desperate to prevent Wario Land from returning thanks to the new warioware website set up last year and that we only have Wario Land 3 on the NSO.

I think Wario Land (or something adjacent) has better chances than you think. Pizza Tower was a massive indie hit, and that game was literally designed to be Wario Land 5. Not to mention Wario can appeal to an older demographic that feel as if they are aging out of Mario games, but might not be quite ready for games as challenging as the new Zeldas.

I think what's going to happen for 2025 for the Mario series is this
Games:
We're going to see a new Mario Kart game on the Switch and I maybe wrong, but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was a port of the Wii U game and the DLC tracks are pretty much reused assists from Mario Kart Tour so a New Mario Kart game on the Switch could or could not happen, Dr. Mario I can see happening because the last Dr. Mario game on a Nintendo Platform was Dr. Mario Miracle Cure on Nintendo 3DS and We're long overdue for a Mario Baseball, Now this may be very unlikely, but Super Mario 3D All-Stars could return and it'll have DLC with Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario 3D Land, We may see a New Super Mario All-Stars collection with New Super Mario Bros. 1, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and New Super Mario Bros. 2 aswell.
Nintendo Switch Online:
We'll see Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for the Gameboy Color come to NSO Online
the big announcement:
Nintendo, Universal and Illumination will drop the teaser trailer for the Super Mario Bros. movie 2 and in addition, the next Super Mario 3D Game is in the works and will launch with the Switch successor for Holiday 2026.
Keep in mind March 10th is Mar10 day and the small announcement like Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, will be announced on Mar10 day aswell as the new cast for the Super Mario Bros. movie 2 and they give us a trailer drop around September or October 2025 for the Super Mario Bros. movie 2 trailer.

@@ConculusHydro But, I see them making a Sunshine Remake eventually. Maybe it takes years but the Sunshine community really starts to grow as the people who grew up with the game start to get nostalgic. And nostalgia sells. I could even see them including ideas from planned development since the game needs a tiny overhaul anyways and including new content is always neat. It could actually be a Sunshine 1.5 if it happens. Or they don't add new content at all but still remake Peak which is also fine.

@jesse4437 I agree. Nintendo should make an NSMB collection which contains the 3 NSMB games, (NSMBDS, NSMBWii, and NSMB2.) not NSMBU because that game is already on the switch titled as New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
@@ignatiousmary8413 The thing I'm curious about is how they would do NSMB 2 and especially NSMBDS. They aren't fitted for modern screens and NSMBDS kinda even has a different style. And I'm just not sure if they would put that much effort into the handheld titles. NSMBWii is rather straight forward. Looks even great when upscaled to 4K and the few textures that don't can easily be updated. Just replacing the HUD might even be enough. NSMBDS and NSMB 2 just don't work the same way. For the same reason I hate that Nintendo offers N64 games in HD but at least there they have a CRT option that makes them look more like intended.
@@mr.cringe61 That's true because Porting NSMBWii to the switch will be easier. They ported NSMBU to the switch with no problems, but NSMBDS, and NSMB2 are on the DS & 3DS consoles.

No mention of SUper Mario Galaxy 2 ? As that has not been re-released yet. So that could come out for the 40th anniversary of Mario and hopefully a bit better than the mess that was the 3D ALL-Stars with its lack of extras outside of the games official Soundtracks. I mean honestly it would be great to see some behind the scenes development on some of these 3D Mario games, right ?
I would love to see Nintendo throw fans a bone and acknowledge the fandom and their love for Bowsette.
I would also love a remaster take on the Wario Land games. Maybe a remaster of these iconic games for a new generation of players.
I love SMG2 but I think in a separate video I talked about why it would make more sense to me mid-gen. Couldn't be ruled out though.

@@technobladeleakedclips1827 3D Allstars is still the most overhated game out there. $60 for the most popular 3D Marios with so many hours of content in the best official way? I don't know what the expections were. You can't modify an N64 game to look modern. It doesn't work. Making it availble near original makes sense. Especially for fans. And remaking every game is such a weird expectation. Spyro and Crash were only possible since those were shorter games, all released on the same console with the same artstyle and similar visuals and mechanics. You could reuse so much for the other games.
Like imagine the outcry if they made just the tiniest modifications to the original SM64...
Someday I hope Nintendo realizes WarioWare didn’t just cost us a great franchise in Wario Land, but actively hurts their brand as a whole. Every time they announce one of those awful little games I find myself distancing myself from Nintendo’s brands. They are Nintendo at their very worst and it’s a broken branch that’s long overdue to be cut off.
Nintendo recently has grown desperate to prevent Wario Land from returning thanks to the new warioware website set up last year and that we only have Wario Land 3 on the NSO.
I would like to see a 3D remake of the original Super Mario Bros. trilogy, ala Mortal Kombat 9.
Generally we need more mario games to get the Zelda Treatment in terms of remakes
