It was August of last year that I discovered the joy of spin my very first yarn… and it’s been a blessing. Sadly, treadling isn’t an option due to health issues but since picking up that first spindle and getting that first cop started, I’ve learned so much and now I have two e-spinners (both the Nano2 and the EEW 6 by Dreaming Robots). I’ve spent endless hours spinning and recently saved up enough to buy myself a blending board. I’ve washed my very first sheep’s fleece and am working myself through an alpaca fleece. Knitting with my own hand spun yarn is absolutely wonderful. I’ve participated in my first Tour De Fleece and that yielded me enough lace weight yarn for a large haapsalu (Estonian) lace shawl. Spinning is, to me, the perfect gift for a fibre addict: you get to spin exactly the yarn you want, in the weight, texture and colour(s) you want, made out of the fibre(s) you want and after the initial investment of a spindle or a wheel, weight-for-weight, the yarn is much cheaper and higher quality than anything you can buy. And you get hours of enjoyment and relaxation out of it. And… if at some point you don’t feel like spinning or knitting, you have endless hours of spinning content you can watch… like your videos. Plenty of inspiration! Greetings from Belgium’s countryside!
Hi Ali, I hope you're OK xx ❣️❣️❣️ I agree with you about Corriedale and Merino Corriedale is a much smoother fibrre to draft . Merino gives me a hard time, unless its spun in very fine strips. I think we all have our own preferences, otherwise there'd be sheep falling over their Fleeces. Thankyou so much for sharing your videos and your expertise, you're very much appreciated. 🌟✨️💜💜 Happy Spinning Special Fibre Friend 🎡🥰🐑🥰 Take care and stay safe Lots of love and Big Hugs Jen xxxx ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🫂🫂🫂🫂🐕🐕🫂🫂

I think you could call your Handspun Yarn after your friend, I'm sure she'd be very honored. So pretty!
Thank you! I love how it is turning out. What should I name this skein?
If you've not yet named the skein, perhaps Renaissance Recovery would be a good name for it.
@@resourcedragon That’s a good idea! The vote was Renn Fairy.
i love spinning multicolor yarns!
