Putting Crochet in the bullpen would be a mistake, he is healthy and fine and is one of the best starters in baseball. His value will be limited tremendously if you limit his innings.
They were absolutely going to lose him because they couldn't afford him, and could get a haul for trading him, so that's a different situation. Detroit can absolutely afford to pay Tarik Skubal and a few others.
As a Tigers fan, I'd like to see them buy instead and cut Baez loose, but that won't happen. Instead, I'd try to package Flaherty with Baez in exchange for anything as a token return. Basically, Flaherty is free, but you agree to eat the Baez contract. Use him or release him, I don't care.

struggled before going on IL and struggling in rehab outings now. Doubt anyone trade for him before the Deadline (maybe in the offseason if he's under the A's control).
@@KevinHuffman-m6h he has 1 more year of arbitration, which is why I think he could be traded, but in the post season he'd be a bull pen arm. He's a groundball pitcher and the A's infield is below average defensively, other than Geloff who is average defensively for second basemen. A team with a great defensive infield but in need of an innings eater could want him, and not have to give up much to get him.
I think that might actually be why they can and may be sellers. They can trade some of that depth and still have an outside chance of winning the division this year. It's a great hedge.@@n1ghtt295
i doubt the Orioles do a deal with the Tigers. bottom line Tigers will only trade if Holliday+ or a combo including Beavers, Mayo, AND Basallo is on the table, and Elias has already said the Orioles wont consider a deal with Holliday named, and probably wont want to ship multiple AAA guys
@@GeeEm1313. im talking about both. the Tigers are going to be very scarce with who they want to sell their pitchers for because they have a chance to extend those guys and be good in the future, and they know there is a lot of value there. im glad Elias said he wont trade Holliday because its simply not worth the risk, especially when Skubal may not sign an extension
the Rays should not sell. they have so many studs coming back for 2025, and with their rotation full again they will be back to winning 100 games. Paredes and Diaz should stay, as do both Lowes. im cool with Randy being shipped cause he is underperforming, but everyone else should stay
@@canaan56. and im pissed. im not even a Rays fan and i hate the organisation for being so stupid. you have an elite rotation coming back next year, and instead they want to sell everything. why give up at .500 when you have a chance to be at .700 next year? the Rays may genuinely never win a world series in their franchise history with how they run their front office
@baileysmith4744 the Astros just pissed me off they traded their top pitching prospect and Billy Wagner son and a very good rookie outfielder defensilvy for a guy who had one year under 4 era rest are all 4+

How does Trevor not bring the Cardinals up FOR ANYBODY?!?!?!?!

No WAY Baltimore trade for Flaherty after he pitched horrifically for them 1.5 years ago.
He’s finally healthy and is now a bonified ace. He’s been a top 20 pitcher this year and they need pitching help it’s s strong possibility

the phillies did exactly what trevor said with hays

Spot on with Randy to Seattle!!! Luke raley could possibly play first or call someone up but a trade a greatly needed

Crochet stated he will not work a postseason/pen work if he isn't signed to a new deal.
O's fans hate Flaherty and rightfully so! Its NOT happening!
you don't trade a CY pitcher mid-season....huh, just gonna ignore the 2014 Rays trading David Price then?

Trevor come pitch for Seattle we need a reliever man!

Once bitten, twice shy about Flaherty and Tanner Scott.
I would like the Astros to get yandy Diaz or trade for a good first baseman
