"How do explain to my daughter, who has never experienced hunger, who has never felt cold....... who has never suffered a day in her life.... that there are worse things in life than an unhappy marriage". Truer words have never been spoken. Catherine has gone through the ringer just to survive. Her family was massacred because others were jealous of their success. All her life she's had to fight. She is testament to the human will to survive.
@@FairyKingdom86 All the women of her time had it rough. She is ruthless because she absolutely needed to be. Behind every "b*tch" there was a story that made her that way. Even Queen Elisabeth needed to be cunning to survive in a patriarchal world her very own mother was a victim to. In a world where women were disposable, Catherine's daughters were absolutely lucky to have a "b*tch" and "witch" as a Mother!!!
Has anything really changed? In the U.S. we are about to have an election in two months where one side is trying with all its might to put the other side in jail for the same reason fundamentally.
I need a season 3 as well! Anjou was my fave character. Don't quote me, but I don't think historically he became king, but I don't care, I wanna see it happen, haha!
Samantha Morton was so amazing in "Walking Dead," agreed! When she was first cast for "Serpent Queen" I was super excited about that. Thanks for watching!
@@lilburrellbaby it's a Turkish drama about the life of the most powerful valide sultana (Queen mother) of Ottoman Empire. It's spin-off/sequel of another drama about Sultan Suleiman and Hurrem Sultana (the most powerful Ottoman Sultan and his wife, the first woman officially recognized as empress consort).
My pvr stopped recording just before the ending when Catherine looked into the camera and was just beginning to speak and it just stopped! I want to know what happened after that and I can't find it anywhere. This episode left much to the imagination and I can't wait to see the rest. 🌹Great movie, greater cast, thanks for sharing..
How this series got cancelled is beyond me, it’s far better than HOTD which is still going and is a mess and living off the reputation of GOT, I really hope Netflix or HBO pick this series up and give it the recognition it deserves

"Long live the King? I supposed....then again there's always a spare" That line was completely outta pocket though lolll
This doesn't mean her children don't suffer or that their suffering is "lighter"

If you watched reign (2013) that queen catherine was good too , the canadian actress, the character seem to bring the best of the actresses!
Need a season 3, I wanna see Anjou become king. Fucking love his character and the actor that plays him, such a good addition to the cast.

The story line almost sounds like Kosem.
Right!? I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice this.
What is Kosem?

Catherine is the best! Thanks for watching!
Who's the actress on 0:49? She looks and sounds a lot like Phia Saban omg
That is Philippine Velge who plays Princess Magot. She does look a lot like Phia Saban, I agree.
I thought it was her at first 😂
She could have said to her daughter " France can't afford your happiness".
