Ideally you want to clean and brush the area you're putting the spacer over to make sure it's making full contact.

Correct! I didn’t have my wire-brush at the time, thankfully there wasn’t much buildup on the hub.

How are they holding up after 7 months? Have you notice anything different in handling or just how the car feels in general?

since i bought wheels i no longer need them, but they held up great for about 6 months!

Is a wheel alignment necessary after installation?

not necessarily but alignments never hurt
