I'm also converting one of these vans. My van has the back windows. I chose to cover them up from the inside, but painting the outside might work better. Lots of heat will be lost through the glass. There is a big space under the metal floor at the front of the van (the footwells for the passenger version). This requires removing the panel or cutting access holes. But there is lots of space for storage or the electrical system. When apply the Kilmat, you are supposed to stick it down using a roller. The idea is to roll out (flatten) the square quilted pattern on the foil side to know that it is applied properly. Laying the Kilmat out in the sun before applying can help in cooler conditions.

Originally when I was purchasing the Kilmat I did have the rollers in my cart. But decided not to purchase in the end.... me being cheap! lol.
