One more thought, but that chair or any type of seated area like this would be beautiful in the shallow end of a pool. Or the tanning ledge. Just an idea. 🤟🏼🥰

I completely get your idea of not being bothered to get a tool or anything that is thought out ahead of time. Within reason or course. My thought process is completely organic and within that, making it as beautiful as I can. I believe that is why I’m really enjoying your method of teaching and your artistic inspiration. Something that would be inspiring to me would be just start and make it as beautiful as you can. I admit that sometimes it turns into a hot mess!! Lol. But for the most part, that does always work for me. Thanks again Joy for sharing with us.

Love what you do.... looks amazing. Would REALLY love to see your structure making one day! I make lots of my own tiles..... but have never made a structure with wire and cement. Cheers

Great feedback...I’ll hopefully make a video, showing me starting from scratch with some polystyrene, my trusty bread knife and recycled chicken wire on how to make the substructure! Good excuse to use your tiles, Cheers, Joy

Best material for the bench? And THANK YOU for sharing all your ideas and hard earned skills! You are a JOY!

So the bench is the coffee table in front…that we sit and put our feet on…is made up of 3 slabs of thick underfloor heating polystyrene, glued together with cement adhesive and any leftover tiles lying around were glued straight onto the polystyrene with the same adhesive. Really quick job, no prep time! Cheers Joy

Fabulous! What do you do with the bottom of the chair?

    • @joybellart4727

Hi Patty, I left it as a slab of polystyrene…you can’t see it from any angle but the slab is touching the ground not the tiles

Would rain (ie sitting in a puddle) degrade the poly styrene? Bugs (cockroaches) make a home in it? I am nervous about our heat and bugs affecting it!!

@@WatchMovies57 hi Leslie! I don’t know if sitting in a puddle would destroy the polystyrene base but it certainly withstands been on grass, dirt and in my case the chair was exposed and unprotected for ten years on grass and is now on pebbles. Half of it was sealed with mortar mix and the rest exposed…just waiting to be done. The blue and white poly based couch was gifted after 20 years outside and unfinished…so it’s amazing resilient and uniquely compatible with all concrete products. Never seen any insects…even slaters live in it!
