You are very talented, methodical, very great at teaching, very humble and cute as can be!! This video helped me sooooo much!! Thank you dear... Your table is gorgeous by the way!!
My favorite part is,that you made a pattern without it being a picture. I love randomness in most things, but sometimes mosaics can be too busy. This is stunning! My husband made a random mosaic table top years ago. While beautiful, i prefer yours.
I am moving into a house next week, and I will have a craft space. A CRAFT SPACE. I have a table that I have been wanting to try mosaics on for 25 years. I can't wait. Thanks for this video.
I can't believe this was your first mosaic project-absolutely stunning! Adding the rope border was so innovative & added the perfect touch. I want to go run and "play" with mosaics right now after watching your video! Great job! (applause)
Good video, you did a great job on the little table. You made it look like a quicker job than I'm sure it was so I'm glad you mentioned that it was actually time consuming. Prevents me from tackling a huge table expecting not to spend a lot time on it (thus planning better for it).
Love the finished table with Mexican tile. For a first time I salute you. Well done & keep up the good work. 😃 looking forward to seeing you other projects 👍
Well I'm impressed. Wasn't sure how useful a few broken tiles would be to cover a table, but you actually made a pattern with them and covered the whole thing. Smart.
So pleasing to see how the table turned out. So colourful. Well done!. I have a square wooden coffee table i would like to mosaic with ceramic and pottery i have collected for years. I also pondered over the edging and have come up with an idea of using some black and silver small rectangle tiles to fit around the table edge. Maybe it will work? I can only but try. Thank you so much for your presentation.xx
I got similar little table it's been around in back yard for years never know what to do with it and you give me the great idea. You have done a magnificent job you are so good at it should be proud. Thank you for sharing
I am so glad I came across your video! It is so much clearer and more detailed than other ones I've seen. I know this was shot during the shut down so getting out to places like Ace, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Lowes etc was difficult. Now I'll be able to pick up supplies in person. I'm doing a similar round table using three broken dinner plates from a very posh Coalport dinner service so I may get a tile nipper to make finer cuts than your hammer/plastic bag technique. The piping bag suggestion is genius. Thanks so much.
I love the way that you describe how to do it it doesn’t sound rushed everything’s right there thank you for taking your time to explain it all I appreciate that
You inspired me to order some talavera tile online over the weekend. I am now gluing my pieces down on a 24 inch thrift store wood/venir table. So much fun ! Plan on grouting over the weekend. Thank you for the inspiration.
I have a lot of tiles that were left by the previous owner and was thinking of doing something like this. Thank you for showing how to go about doing it. Your turned out very nice.
I Love this Table! So Creative and Attractive! Looks high end. I give you credit for trying this with no prior knowledge. I have wanted to give it a try for a lot of years, but have held off. My idea was to take an old bowling ball 🎳 and cover it with pennies! After watching you maybe this summer. I appreciate you tackling this project and sharing the experience with us. Thank you. Be Safe & Well my friend.
Thank you! 😊 I finally just had to try it and I'm so glad I did. It wasn't hard, but it was time consuming. It's a great project for right now while we are all staying at home. I say just go for it! Have a blessed day and stay healthy!
Excellent job well done colors. Are beautiful and thanks for using the.puerto rican music thats what caught my attention blessings from a Jersey RICAN 🙏😷
You did a great job. When I was growing up, my dad worked as a salesman for a flooring company. He worked primarily with vinyl flooring and tile flooring. He needed samples to show his clients & my mom would make sample boards for him. I enjoyed watching her create the boards & she also made numerous mosaics from the broken tiles. My favorite of her projects was a tiled table which I still have. It was large, about 4x4 and I got to help clean the grout off the tiles when it was dry. I love your table and using the rope around the edge was inspired. Thank you for reminding me of how much fun working with tile can be. One piece of advise: get a quality grout sealer from Lowes or Home Depot. Because the grout is porous, it will absorb any water spilled on it. That will cause problems, the least of which is the grout could chip and over time deteriorate then you'd have to dig the grout out & redo it.
Thank you for your comment. I'm glad my video brought back some good memories for you. I do plan to seal the grout once I can get some sealer. I meant to mention that in the video and I forgot which is a bummer because it is an important step for sure. Thanks again for watching. Have a blessed day!
Today is the first time I ever saw your channel. I know nothing about doing mosaics either, but I've always wanted to learn. After I saw the outcome of yours, I think I may start on mine this week. I have to place an order with Amazon as I've not been anywhere, except for my Doctor's appointments since Covid embarked on America. I just love how your table turned out. You picked out beautiful colors to use. It is a beautiful piece of furniture now. I'll try and get back to you later, after I've completed my table. Until then, stay safe and God Bless. Linda, from Texas.
Looks great. Thanks for showing your method. Just a couple of suggestions. You can touch up that little chip in the center piece with a bit of acrylic paint and add a bit of gloss sealant to make it shiny like the tiles. If the chip is large, you can add a bit of molding paste or grout first. If you were going to use the table outside I’d add some outdoor sealant to the rope. I use MinWax indoor/outdoor gloss water based urethane to seal lots of my projects that might get wet. It is supposed to repel water and prevent fading. There are probably other brands that are similar, but MinWax is just the brand I found at a reasonable price a few years ago. I still have about half my quart can left. Instead of buying new planters for outside, I repaired and painted the plastic ones I had. I added rope to some, which I sealed with the MinWax. They’ve been outdoors for 3 years in extreme heat, cold, and rain, and holding up well.
You have done an awesome job, I am about to do a square table I was going to throw out and then came across your video and I am going to salvage the poor table to make it beautiful (I hope anyway lol). Great tutorial, nice and clear, editing was perfect and I feel confident after watching your video I could attempt the same. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. Much appreciated! From Jai in Australia x
That's awesome Jai! I'm so glad that my video helped. I would love to see a picture of your table when you get it done. One thing that I forgot to mention in the video is that you will want to seal the grout with a grout sealer when you are all finished to protect it from staining and cracking.
I love!! I have also been procrastinating a mosaic table top. We did a tile around a sink in our bathroom so I have plenty of mastic and grout to use so no excuses now! What I loved the most was your pattern and the way you went about it. I think the broken tile idea is also super cool. Thanks for the video!! Patty k.
Can't thank you enough. Just opened my box of "broken tiles" from Amazon and about 15 are intact. The other 15 or so have very little breakage. They are really neat tiles too...vibrant colors. Such a great project for a difficult summer.
Wow! That's awesome that so many of them were intact! I had one person tell me that they received theirs and only one was broken. They are beautiful tiles, aren't they? Have fun with your project!
Amazing. Tile colours are very beautiful. If you coat the rope with the mixture of wall putty and Glue, which is mixed into a paint like consistency, that will give good out put. This is my kind suggestion.
Sooo cute!! You did an awesome job for your first mosaic. I've done them in the past too and they are a lot of fun. I used plates instead of tiles from Goodwill and Salvation Army instead of tiles, super cheap. Also a tile nipper is great tool for snipping the particular pieces you'd like to use. I also used much thinner grout and spread it on with a trowel and sealed it with grout sealer. They are sooo much fun, I really enjoyed watching you! Thank you!!
Originally, I wanted to use plates from the thrift store but since we were on a stay at home order, I decided to order the tiles off of Amazon. I plan on trying the plates for my next project. Thank you so much for watching!
I had a beautiful ceramic clay pitcher that belonged to my mother and my grandmother, it broke during a move and I saved all the pieces hoping to do something with them. well this just gave me the perfect idea thank you so much.
Very Nice it turned out beautifully. I would suggest when mixing up your grout put the grout in the bucket first and then add the water, that way you will have more control over how much grout you mix up and will have less waste.
This is such a cute idea. You did an amazing job, especially for your first try! I’m always so hesitant to try new things but videos like yours give me more confidence to do that. Thanks!
Im going to do this in the spring. I do pottery and I've collected my fails and smashed them up and I'm going to use them to mosaic our garden table, really looking forward to it.
I really like this table. I think you did an excellent job. The rope detail was perfect for filling that little gap. The colors are so cheerful. I think that you are going to enjoy this table for a long time. 😊👍🏻🌺
This is absolutely so pretty, I have a table like this outside, so, I shall be paying a visit to poundland later to try and do this. Great tuturiol, you've gained a fan😊🇬🇧👍
Your small table and Talavera tiles inspired me to mosaic a little table top that’s been in my garage for nearly 20 years. it’s not competed yet but I’ll try to post a few pics when it is. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration.
That's awesome! I'm so glad that I have inspired you to finish your table. I would love to see some pics when you have it done. You can tag me on Instagram or post them on my Facebook page.
This turned out Absolutely Beautiful. You would never know it was your first one. I always wondered how to make one. Thank you for sharing this with us. So until next time God Bless you and have a Blessed Evening and Stay Safe my dear Friend. 🍁👭🍁
Oh my goodness Chantel! It is so beautiful. I just found a huge wooden spool used for wire that my neighbor put out for free! I scooped it up and hopefully I can do something similar to the top of it like you did. Although I need to add legs to it to turn it into a table!! Thanks for sharing. I’m not to intimidated by it because you made it look so fun and fairly easy 👍❤️🙏🏻😊. Stay safe and healthy!
That's awesome! I love getting things for free that I can upcycle! I would love to see a picture when you get it finished. One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that I would recommend you get a good sealer and seal the grout once you are finished. Have fun with your project!
You did a beautiful job Chantel! Love the rope border! I’ve wanted to do something like this for a long time. I actually had saved a box of broken china cups, but when I moved they were left behind. Thanks for the inspiration! 💕💕💕
You're welcome Linda. I'm sorry your china cups got left behind. That's a bummer. You could probably pick up some fairly cheap at a thrift store. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this video! I volunteer with my Mom's non-profit and thrift store and have wanted to transform something in this manner for a long time! Looking forward to finding just the right piece and some chipped dishes to test my hand at mosaic!
I'm so glad my video was helpful. That's great that you volunteer at the non-profit. I hope you find the perfect pierce to add your mosaics to. I would love to see your finished piece when it's done.!
Idk if someone already mentioned this, but...you should grab some sealant or clear coat or lacquer(I like Glaze n' Seal's high gloss lacquer, I get it at Ace, but it's available almost everywhere...) so that your table stays as beautiful(or even more so) as the day you made it. Then you can eat on it, spill drinks on it, accidentally leave a rusty paint can on it, etcetera....and just wipe it up with a damp paper towel. And it will look fantastic, too. Great job! P.s. And, bonus, you won't even need to bother with a grout sealer if you use the lacquer(the lacquer is a topical sealant, so it will lock everything in place)!
Thanks Elizabeth. Yes, I meant to mention in the video that you should seal the grout but that is a great tip about using the lacquer instead. Thanks so much for sharing!
Would those sealants that you mentioned work for a table you wanted to keep outside? That is what I'm afraid of, making something so lovely and having it ruined by the rain.
I like it and it's very pretty. I think the rope was a good finish for the edge. If I were to choose a color for the grout I think a dark turquoise maybe. I love the colors you chose and green is one of my favorites. I'd like to try this one day. I have a marble top medium size table my daughter in law gave me that would be great. It has some little chips on the edge. I use to let my granddaughter color on it when she was about 4. She's 14 now so maybe some day she and I could do this to it together. I don't get to see her very often these days and it would be a great memory. God's abundant love, blessings and protection on you and your family 💜👍😎
Thanks Kathy. That would be great for you and your granddaughter to work on the table together. That would really make it special. Thank you so much for watching! Blessings to you and your family as well!
Love how your mosaic table turnout and the rope was a very great idea. I’ve also have plans to try and tackle a mosaic table, just waiting for tile I’ve purchased online last week to be delivered. As an interior design I would like to share the space in which you’ve placed your table. It should be move out from your walls bc it’s too close to your walls.
Thank you. This one was not made with things from Dollar Tree but I did get the table for just $3 from a thrift store so it was still pretty budget friendly. Thanks so much for watching.
I finally did this project! Thank you again for this tutorial because it gave me the confidence to try. I wish I could post a picture of mine to share with you.
You are very talented, methodical, very great at teaching, very humble and cute as can be!! This video helped me sooooo much!! Thank you dear...
Your table is gorgeous by the way!!
My old mosaic table has rusted beyond repair. So expensive to buy now, will be doing it myself.
Thank you.
For your first time project this really is beautiful. Love the broken Mexican tile!
My favorite part is,that you made a pattern without it being a picture. I love randomness in most things, but sometimes mosaics can be too busy. This is stunning! My husband made a random mosaic table top years ago. While beautiful, i prefer yours.
Thank you so much Ruth!! I'm so glad you like it. Thanks for watching!
I think it’s the sunflower that centers it, art usually needs a focal point. The sunflower works perfectly
I am moving into a house next week, and I will have a craft space. A CRAFT SPACE. I have a table that I have been wanting to try mosaics on for 25 years. I can't wait. Thanks for this video.
That's great Jackie! I was so excited when I got my craft room so I'm sure you are going to love having a dedicated space for crafting!
I can't believe this was your first mosaic project-absolutely stunning! Adding the rope border was so innovative & added the perfect touch. I want to go run and "play" with mosaics right now after watching your video! Great job! (applause)
Aww, thank you so much Susan! It was a lot of fun to do! I think I need to start planning my next mosaic project.
Haha that's what I was thinking too! 😊

Beautiful! My glass table top broke during a windstorm and I am going to make a tabletop like this! What a transformation! Thanks so much!
Omg. I love that sunflower 🌻 it’s beautiful
Love the finished table with Mexican tile. For a first time I salute you. Well done & keep up the good work. 😃 looking forward to seeing you other projects 👍

You did a great job on the table. Your video is so relaxing and the background music is perfect. I could watch your projects for hours.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I love the finish product!🤩 Only I'm not too fan of the rope. Other than that, it's a 👍🏼for you!
This table looks lovely ongoing to try this on the top of my bed side table
came out great...I have a table I have been saving to do a mosaic on as I have been wanting to try if for about 20 years...so this is inspirational.
Thanks! You should definitely give it a try!

It’s so beautiful! Great job
I love the nautical rope! It make the edges softer and not so sharp. Beautiful tiles!
I love it too. My table is that size! Perfect for beginning. Thank you!
You are so brave to give it a try even though it was out of your comfort zone. It turned out great!!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for creating this video. I have a round table top. I've been wanting to mosaic; great ideas. ❤
i like the idea of the piping bag , not so messy, and easy to see where you need more or less👍🏼
Yes, I totally agree!
Everything looks lovely when one make the effort. It’s beautiful!
Thank you!
Using a trowel is fine and then also you can apply grout with rubber gloves and a sponge. Clever using your piping bag. Looks great.
Thank you so much for giving these new ideas
You inspired me to order some talavera tile online over the weekend. I am now gluing my pieces down on a 24 inch thrift store wood/venir table. So much fun ! Plan on grouting over the weekend. Thank you for the inspiration.
That's awesome Tamara! I'm glad you decided to give it a try!
I too was planning on using broken plates but I see how it’s better with flat and uniformly thick tiles!
I have a lot of tiles that were left by the previous owner and was thinking of doing something like this. Thank you for showing how to go about doing it. Your turned out very nice.
Kathleen Stanek need to wear a mask mixing the grout! You can see it going into the air.
You are welcome Kathleen. You should definitely give it a try.
Your little table turned out BEATTIFUL!!!

Turned out so beautiful you did great job I lovet thanks for sharing..
Lovin' Life's Journey I will post before and afters for you
Thank you so much for the tutorial 💗This was a project I have been wanting to do for years. You did a fantastic job! Beautiful work!
You are so welcome! I'm glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching!
Wow I love it! I want to do a project like this with my husband. Thank you for the great step by step instructions👌👍😌
I have always wanted to try mosaic and you have certainly inspired me to give it a try now, thank you so much....
Yay! I'm glad you are going to give it a try. It was a lot of fun!
What a great first time DIY...and it turned out beautiful!!
God's abundant love, blessings and protection on you and your family
💜👍😎
Thanks Kathy. That would be great for you and your granddaughter to work on the table together. That would really make it special. Thank you so much for watching! Blessings to you and your family as well!
You really did a great job.I really like it.May God keep you and your family well.
Thank you! You too!
I needed this kind of how to. Very impressive. Thank you.
I'm glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
Another wonderful project from Dollar Tree supplies!
Thank you. This one was not made with things from Dollar Tree but I did get the table for just $3 from a thrift store so it was still pretty budget friendly. Thanks so much for watching.
You did a great job turned out beautiful
Thank you! 😊
I finally did this project! Thank you again for this tutorial because it gave me the confidence to try. I wish I could post a picture of mine to share with you.
