Love your way of preparing food. As a senior person it reminds me of the days of long and slow cooking with fresh basic ingredients. I think you might have experienced living in the corporate world and de ided you had enough. You returned to simple living with your farm and home. Living off the land and enjoying the. fruits of your labor. Whatever it is you have brought a sense of peace and calm to us all through your videos, with both cooking and scenery. Even the few background music scores speaks peace to us. Thank you for this

Sometimes, when I'm watching, listening to the birds and the sound of things being chopped and the fire crackling, sometimes I forget I'm sitting at home. Inside too! Food just tastes better outside.

Heyy guys! Your channel is my ultimate No.1 channel to follow BUT... it is not a goulash. Rather something like a paprikas(h). Goulash is a rich soup with beef, paprika, potato and csipetke (small handmade noodles). Possibly you know it because we are neighbours ;) But world knows it wrong. World, remember: goulash is a SOUP :)
Anyway, keep on keepin' on this channel! Sending love from Hungary!

+Ty Tremblay That really depends on where we are cooking. If we film a video in nature it will be without music, like the ones you saw before, but when at home, there are a lot of distracting sounds and no nature sounds, so we need to fill that emptiness with music

This is very special recipe for Ottoman cuisine. Ottoman chiefs were making for Janissaries which is Elite Wariors of Ottoman Empire. They were soldier society and They were legionaries, They were only growing and training for Turkish Army. The recipe name was coming from this situation, Goulash pronunciation is very similar with the words in Turkish. It's Kul-Aşı. Kul means legionaries in these terms, aş means food. This is food for soldiers. The original recipe has no wine and mangalica fat cuz They were muslims :D Mangalica fat is pig fat. I guess that, Otoman recipe has sheeps tail fat or sheeps inner fats instead of mangalica fat. Plus, I guess that They add some red grape vinegar and some grape molasses (molasses gives some sugar, They didn't have white sugar in these days) instead of red wine.

As the cooler Winter months slowly draw nearer this type of food almost becomes staple...
I have to say this is one of my favourite recipes and the presentation is superb. The rustic setting, sounds and simplicity in itself using fresh local produce, nothing complicated, prepared with patience, good dollop of passion = best results! Also love the background music and length of clip etc is near on perfect. I tend to add creamy mashed potato (mixing with warmed whole milk, melted butter, bit of grated cheese/garlic..) but the pasta definitely adds another dimension. I do like a fresh chilli or two so usually add these at some stage for some slight heat..
In fact I've literally just decided to make this goulash today, so thank you very much chef!
Fantastic and again thanks for sharing you inspirational recipes ;-)
(Ps. Gonna check out some more.)

Nice recipe! Goulash is, next to palacinky pancakes and langosh, my favorite Hungarian food. I prepared it a few times, and I have to admit that the best one should be prepared with the original ingredients. It took me some time to find a good place on the web with fine quality seasonings and meat straight from Europe. And I have to say there is a huge difference. Well, every day we learn something new. Thanks! And if anybody wonders where I found these ingredients, I can recommend the Fabko online store. Guys import Hungarian Food deli, Polish food deli, and more. They have the best spices and seasonings.

Americans (at least those who've never traveled to eastern Europe), THIS is an example of true goulash.

    • @cutabove9046
      @cutabove9046 3 роки тому

Note that this cook doesn't claim to have made eastern european goulash. He simple made a goulash (meat stew) with paprika. If you're interested in eastern European goulash you use all eastern european flavors. That's what makes eastern european goulash versus some other version of meat stew. Cumin, cloves and Sichuan peppers have no place in a eastern european goulash. What's should be used is caraway, thyme and marjoram. That's what makes regional food regional. You use the spices and ingredients available and common to that country. What you will find is a consistent set of spices which is different in each country that is used in their soups and stews along with particular vegetable common to those areas.

Mangalica lard, is it easy to get in Serbia? I dont think we have much chance of getting it here in the UK, can you recommend a substitute? Will any pork lard do?? Hvala

    Mali update !
    Ispao je gulaš do jaja.
    Ja sam oduševljen.
    Imao si pravo za karanfilić.
Nismo imali sečuanski biber pa smo stavili kajen.
Bogami se kuvao oko 7 sati.
    Spucali smo gajbu piva.
Preporuka svima ! Nije uopšte komplikovano i naporno.
Drago mi je zbog otvaranja ON LINE kanala.

AlmazanKitchen brate jel ti zivis u USA?

Discovered you guys a couple weeks ago. Ironic how life works. I have become a very good self-taught chef. But because of a recent life changing event...I have become even more profoundly creative and a bit of a renegade. More self-reliant. It does me soul good to watch your vids in the forest. Yawl are very inspiring. I am an avid outdoorsman...but could most definitely learn an thing or three from you guys...and tailfloppahs aka biscuit buds aka canine companions...and Mr. Owl. Where are yawl from? Would love to join you and and learn from you. Rock on brothahs from anothah mothah...Brett aka blumanchu

i have always used paprika very shyly - for no good reason; i just always thought it was too powerful to use as much as you do. I am going to try this though. The rich color and flavor it must give... mmmmmm. Keep posting these amazing videos!
