as someone who quit their job and flew to another country with no savings, emergency fund or plan - please take this man’s advice into account before quitting your job my people ‼️ what i thought was going to be a new life with greener grass turned out to be an even more difficult road with challenges i didn’t anticipate and plan for. i’m only just getting back on my feet after landing a job 6 months after moving to this country and hundreds of job applications later, lesson learned for sure. be wise! thanks for the video bro
This is quickly becoming my favorite english speaking channel. Just wish I had seen something like this before I quit with no plan or something else lined up a few years back but thankfully we all learn from our mistakes
I hated my job, so quit for 6 months. When I ran out of money, I was able to get another job even though my plans didn’t work out. Take the risk as long as you have a little emergency fund
I also left my corporate job this year, despite not having an offer lined up in this market. Simply put, I was becoming considerably depressed working for an employer constantly demanding more while cutting back on benefits also. Easy to say I did not want to return there although I was welcome back, so many of my old co-workers had also left. In the end I think I made the right decision, despite lacking a clear plan since I had lots of time figuring stuff out.
i just want to say u have motived me in life although i am a student and wont quit school i have finally found u can say a side goal i wont go much in detail but its youtube ( not this channel ) but the thing is now my life feels like it has a meaning i wake up each day excited for what will i work on today i study 8 9 hours i work 4 hour youtube and it finally gives me a feeling i was missing since covid ur channel has made me feel alot more alive this is the first time in 9 year i have commented on someone channel cause u have done miracles for my life thank u
hell yeah man. Super happy for you that you have that feeling back, and honored I helped you find it. Your comment gave me some more motivation this morning! Keep going on the new channel, and good luck!
Don’t leave unless you have a solid plan, I underestimated my burn rate and went into some debt after leaving my job 8 months ago. Didn’t find another job until 5 months later and still have 1K in cc debt left to pay off which I will by end of year.
Bro we have almost identical situations 🤣 I quit my last job on a whim in April. Went until June till I got another job, which I’ve been at for 6 months, and now I’m back to hating my life and a grand of credit card debt.
I quit my corporate job a few months ago to pursue UA-cam full time. It was a huge risk but I had a plan and all the financials worked out exactly like you talk about in this video. So far it's going far better than I expected, I'm working harder and enjoying myself more than ever before and I'm just hoping it continues on the current trajectory so I can keep following the dream!
same bro, quitting my job was the best thing i have ever done, it has completely shifted the trajectory of my life. instead of feeling behind of my peers i now feel ahead.
I’m glad UA-cam recommended me this video because I’m planning on leaving my job at the end of this month. By the way, I love how this video is a throwback to old school commentaries with CoD gameplay in the background lol.
I dont comment much on UA-cam but MAN…Your channel is an escape and a time to think on whats important in this life. Love your work keep posting your going to the moon!📈📈
Greatness! I can relate…I graduated college with a finance degree and realized it wasn’t my passion. I’m very blessed in that my parents own a small Cessna and I’m now pursuing my dream of becoming a pilot. I have no regrets and can look in the mirror at the end of the day knowing I bet on myself and I can always live with that! Best of luck! (Love the runway analogy btw)
Hey man just have to say not only your commentary gives me nostalgia from old youtube days around early 2000s or so but in a weird way its like your our youtube dad, giving life advice on anything meaningful wish schools had more of this. Learning about business stuff like in your investing video on whether this year stocks is up or down and taking risks on ones that could yield amazing results when on deals. My uncle gave me advice himself too on investing what you know like for example WWE is doing really well currently. I work a part time job as my first job doing dishes at a small cafe, planning to leave soon but trying to think on whats a good job to consider for full time as my first full time job. I have anxiety and personal issues with my biological father who passed years ago still make me hesitant on many things. Even small steps tend to be difficult for me honestly
Just found your channel and videos about a few weeks ago and it spiked my interest especially with all of the financial content. Then I found out you’re a Packers fan and it was an instant sub. Go Pack Go!
Love your videos, the right topics always seem to find me at the right time. Would be great to hear you talk about your dream and your plan to chase it
I worked in operations management for Amazon straight out of college. I was there for 1 year and 3 months. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. While there I started pursuing aviation. I left that position to take a much lower paying job, but one that afforded time with my wife and time to study, which I didn’t have before. The QOL has improved drastically.
I quit a 9-5 after 2 years but made the mistake of not having a plan. Thought I could find personal training clients instantly and run a supplement business but didn’t expect the cost. I have a different job now but need to leave soon. It’s been bad but doable, but now it’s really getting to me. I need to find the right path. People need to remember that a corporate job or entrepreneurship are not the only 2 options. There are plenty of careers where you are working for someone but you might love it.
Very true good advice. Been working a retail job for near 18 months despite having a math degree and a few factors have made me feel like enough is enough. I was going to wait it out until February or March when I have maybe £1000 in savings but I can't wait that long and my family have said they'll support me if I'm struggling a bit, better to leave for the sake of my mental. But I know that's a more rare and less ideal than indepenent situation
Another great video, there’s something so motivating about your delivery. For those interested more in this topic, The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris is really good
Everyone's circumstance is different but you've provided a good framework to think about it. I'll be sticking to my WFH job where they think they're taking advantage of me by paying me 30% below market rate while I take advantage of them by getting my job done in 1-2 hour and being a time thief the rest of the time. I doubt i'd be able to get a full WFH job again so i'm just taking full advantage of it, the same way they took advantage of me when i actually tried at work. The irony is that i'm being seen as a higher performer than I was before. Lesson learned. Don't take on extra jobs at work unless it's extremely visible.
I've commented about this a few times, but I wanted to leave another one. This week is actually my last week at a job I've been at for about 3 months, it was a finance position in a pretty cutthroat and toxic environment and I just don't like the work. I am lucky enough to still be about a year and a half removed from college so I'm still figuring it out, but I think I know where my passion lies: in tech. My degree is literally in IT so maybe the answer was right in front of me the whole time...I thought the corporate world would look more appealing to others so that's what I tried to pursue it, but I was just lying to myself for the sake of what others might think. Studying for certifications within the field, so hopefully that will give me an edge in this job market...fingers crossed. :)
Leaving on good terms couldn't be more important, especially if you don't mind the job as much or aren't being treated terribly. All jobs I've had, even tho very low end, I've left on good terms
I didnt give my boss a 2 week notice for a few reasons; 1. He payed me and other workers 2-6 weeks late. And when he did pay, he didn’t pay all of it. 2. He told me I didn’t deserve a raise, even-though my first year in I was given responsibilities above my pay grade. 3. He was upset with me for not working overtime. Why would I work overtime for someone who plays late. And get this, for the workers that worked 7 days a week for him for years, they never got overtime pay. They just got regular pay. They never got the time and a half for working after hours or the double time pay for working weekends, cause they didnt know any better.
Quitting your job to “pursue a dream” is crazy. Quitting to go back to school or get training is one thing but just trying to “start a business” is something you can do while working a 9-5. If you can get it off the ground while working, maybe it’s not a viable idea.
@@deivisnxyeah, and why does that matter? Do you have a brain? Because common sense dictates that you don’t jump into something like that headfirst. If you think you actually have experience to know quitting a job before your business is off the ground, you’re not very bright
Hey Whylearn I’m trying to grow my own channel in a similar style to yours ( not this account I’m using to comment here hehe ) just wondering how long do you spend writing scripts or texts for your videos ? Or is it just main chapter titles and you improv ? Thanks I was just wondering 😊
Yeah he saved a bunch of money and invested while growing a UA-cam channel on the side. He's also doing software engineering work on the side to keep income flowing if he needs it
@ it feels artificial, and like there’s some bigger ulterior motive to tap into the minds of millennials (or older Gen Z like me) using nostalgia. One video like this, that’s fine. Two videos like this? Maybe a coincidence. But in this past week I have seen FOUR separate videos like this in my feed and that’s hella suspicious.
I don't see a problem, just a guy who loves these old video games sharing some things i've learned in life. Lots of us who played these are adults now with more life experiences. There's no ulterior motive lol. I just like talking about finances. Plus the stuff we are sharing is not destructive or pushing you to do something crazy by any means

Yeah it all depends on how much you got in your emergency fund but it’s generally a very bad idea to up and quit.
So you’re back in the same place
