The final important step is to demagnetizing a transformer to remove the residual magnetic flux. otherwise they they will be a large inrush currents on the primary side, that could trip the protective relays.
All right, but what about safety? As it’s a high voltage test you should prepare proper PPE like certified rubber gloves and safety-hook, and buddy system.
Hipot is a different test than Megger. Hipot measures leakage current and Megger measures insulation resistance.
But he did insulation test ; it means device he used is meggar ; I too little confuse ....

Why only one phase is checking in primary and secondary. Usually we need yo check between each phase and earth.
Visakh pradeep edathil Look at the winding...if one of the bushing's insulation failed, the transformer is failed. for both primary and secondary.
