    I was temporarily assigned in Warren/Livonia for 7 months. In that time I became a huge fan of the Great State of Michigan. Mad love and respect. From NEVADA.

    There are so many other places he should have gone in the UP! The beautiful Pictured Rocks near Munising is awe inspiring. Kitch-iti-kipi near Manistique is a hidden gem. Waterfalls are great up north, as well.

    2:44 starry skies, and howling wolves. 🤩That is quite the wilderness mood. 🐺

    Bonesy and Chris were both people I've met in Copper Harbor. Really great down to earth people with a passion for the U.P.

    I really want to visit Isle Royale and camp there. I was lucky enough to visit Mount Bohemia last winter and loved our road trip through the UP. Great documentary btw, thanks for sharing.

    I have a Cabin in Paradise Michigan - Have been going since I was a kid. The UP is truly comparable to a more accessible and safer Alaska with it beautiful landscape. If you've never been I highly encourage you to go during the summer!

    My great grandparents were Michettis, Italian immigrants from Tourin who settled in Calumet where my great grandfather worked in the copper mines. I loved it the first time I was there. I love to stay in the motel in Copper Harbor that has just simple turn locks-- like a bathroom -- on its rooms. But the rooms are all along the lakeshore. Were it not for the harsh winter, I would live there. I have been to many shores around this country and the shore of Lake Superior is my favorite. I long to be there...

    I crossed that bridge around 1972 and never looked back, it is a place that takes me away from the rest of the busy World, it is not easy to live in the UP but the rewards...oh the rewards. There is sooo much more to see! Your journey started at Marquette if you do choose to come back make sure to check out the other 60% of the UP! We are waiting!🙂

      Hancock, Michigan, just across from Houghton is a sister city of Porvoo, Finland. You’d love it. I’ve been to Porvoo and it looks like here but with maybe more cool boats lined up in Porvoo. The President of Finland has been here, so…Come on over!

    Pure Michigan pays for the first hit of up north, but you're on your own after that.
    Sturgeon River Gorge, Huron Mountains and Porkies are arguably best parts that you didn't see.

    • @scotthilberg8894
      @scotthilberg8894 5 місяців тому

      Huron hills you mean lol

    • @wilurbean
      @wilurbean 5 місяців тому

      @scotthilberg8894 technically mountains - they have about 1500ft of elevation above the surrounding land/water which puts them on par with many parts of Appalachia.
      They're also the oldest mountains

    Appreciated the video, but totally missed the Western Upper Peninsula which has the Porkies and amazing waterfalls along with significant landmarks. The importance of winter to Yoopers was also totally passed over. Only 3% of the state population lives in this 1/3 of the state due to the harsh winters whereby Yoopers thrive because they got SISU.

    This is open proof that NG stopped being journalistic in any sense years ago.
    The closest thing to a positive to this is that it's labeled as an ad, but I'm assuming that's more being scared of being demonetized by UA-cam.
