Let me introduce you guys to Dat Nguyen. He is a full Vietnamese, born in Vietnam grew up in U.S. He had a full career in NFL for Dallas Cowboys. All Asians should be proud of him! If you guys could get an interview with this guy, that would really be awesome. The guy was solid in the NFL. I mean he wasn't just a one season or two season wonder. He played continuously since college from Texas A & M and then all the way to Dallas Cowboys until retirement.

Dat Nguyen really helped shatter that 'soft' stereotype with his toughness. Dat was slightly undersized but tough as hell and one of the better inside linebackers in the league. I've played rugby for many years and have played against a few Asian kids in high school and the only thing they lacked was physicality because the speed and toughness was definitely there

Dat Nguyen was such an outstanding athlete. He was tough, quick, and in on almost every tackle. He was all-star caliber linebacker at the time when there were so many outstanding linebackers and not just another player, much less just “the Asian guy on the team.” The hyper hustle and extra toughness were factors in his suffering so many injuries, especially the neck injuries that cut his career short. He was a fun & exciting player to watch.

Dat wasn't really undersized for his position. he was a little over 6 ft and stocky which is what ppl usually want from middle linebackers, a stocky body with years of powerlifting with the legs like squats and cleans is what made him ideal, standout at HS, college and the NFL

My kids half. She said some kid said to her, " We all got that one friend that looks Asian." She replied," 😑 That's bc I am Asian ." Sometimes I question if she'll go through phases of feeling not too much of this or that, being confused, maybe not feeling good enough. But she doesn't really display those behaviors tho. I gave her my last name instead. It's such a rare one & the last of my kind... But her dad's mom told me she wanted to change it. I asked my kid about it & she said ," she's lying." My kid tells me lots of things she'd never tell her gma. So I believe her. I told her it's such a unique one, & the look of disgusts that came across her face told me everything. Not just that but her gma Stays Lying 😤🤦‍♀️

There was a pure blooded Filipino offensive lineman who started for Tennessee Titans for several years named Eugene Amano. Google him. There is Tedy Bruschi who played for the patriots who was half Filipino. My favorite was Roman Gabriel starting quarterback for the LA Rams in the 1960s who is a pure Filipino. Dat Tan Nguyen who played 7 years as a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys. So yes there were Asians playing football long before in the past and until now.

Asians have the hand-eye coordination and quickness to be good slot receivers just like Julian Edelman. Quickness is being able to quickly change directions to shake the defender, as opposed to maximum speed just running in a straight line. So I’m guessing your also familiar with how many children have been adopted from places like South Korea, Kampuchea, etc. Case in point the young American Gymnast Yul Kyung-Tae Moldauer. Adopted from the ROK (Republic of Korea aka South Korea) …. Moldauer isn’t a Korean name either.

Still, because it's so close to Vancouver I hope to visit her at her college one day then coss the border for some yummy Chinese food! I hear there are a lot of ex-pats in Vancouver.
