For the skystalker arc bomb ability the amount of dice you roll is equal to the amount of skystalkers in the unit, not the amount of units it is targeting. This makes them quite good at dishing out free mortal wounds to vehicles averaging about 6-7 mw with a unit of 10.
Love these Martian boys, I was originally gonna be tyranids when I just got started in 7th edition but then Skitari got released and I instantly fell in love
In my opinion, you’re underestimating the serberys raiders. Their mobility, screening, and cheap cost makes them really good. We’ll have to see how their cost changes in 9E though.
As for Breachers : - Cheaper than Destroyers (can't use the Elimination Volley on them, that's one mistake here) - Use the Logos aura on a Warlord for 1CP to get them 5+ FNP (- Use an extra point to get them to 5+ Invuln save) And then... Go Data-Hoarding FW, and take the Trans-Node entry. Congrats, you can put vehicules on the board with 6+ FNP, and ALL OF YOUR ARC WEAPONS (remember those Breachers ?) scores an additionnal hit on 5 and 6. Not roll : HIT. Also if the ennemy has a Vehicule-heavy list you automaticaly win the game (Arc Weapons
Unfortunately I also have some trouble with building a comp list. Take a Look at priests, Kataphornes and chicken or kastelan. I think thats the way but how..? We need to fight a lot of battles to see
Massive disagree on the Serberys Raiders, they are insanely cheap for their fast attack slot and highly efficient at controlling the center of the board. I suspect if tournaments would be going on at the moment they would be a very high pick.
I have taken them to 3 tournaments now and they have been my MVP's from every game. Incredibly fast, able to move block very well due to oval bases, reliably do 3-6 wounds to a key character so the other snipers can finish them off and do all that for 14ppm, easily the best unit in Admec currently
@@leahcim2211 I just hate how most of Admech models only have their cheap cost on their side. Those raiders never should be T3 and have such bad weaponry.
From a "I'll never be able to afford this" perspective they're really up there for me, but honestly Caul is a unit that terrifies me. Not because the model is spooky or how hard a staple he is in the Admech lists I've seen. It's the mere concept of painting up the bastard.
@@Un-ht5bc Its not hard if you do him in 3 parts: Torso, lower half and his right arm area. It was also very fun for me to paint him with all the details.
So my friend recently started collecting. If you can get your hands on a current Start Collecting box and an older Start Collecting box (Dunestrider), then you have an absolutely solid lineup from the get go! Good luck!
@@Un-ht5bc Well they're more expensive mostly because they're new. If you get 3 start collecting boxes you already have almost half your army (with new edition point increase), than you can add some options like cawl, some destroyers, kastelans or the new flying units and you're good to go.
As someone who's completely new to the tabletop, I bought my first "Start Collecting: Admech" kit 2 days ago and have been looking at various youtube videos explaining rules and army lists, but none that actually tiered them up and EXPLAINED and MOTIVATED the reason for the tiering. This was super helpful. I still have barely any idea of what a Mortal wound is, what weapon skill is and how it relates to AP and toughness and to be frank, the concept of various canticles, stratagems, detachments, warlordtraits and relics intimidate me. But I'll just...start with.. painting my models first..
Keep it up, I read in the comment disagreements and discussions on if they agree with your list. I'm happy someone put together a list of all the units in a codex.and there pictures. Im new to WH 40K
Breachers are 100% better than destroyers too. Overall a weird review video that seems to be from someone that doesn't really play the faction at all. Most of these rankings are off or based on really old meta and info
that was my thought as well. The Destroyers - thought their reputation has gotten better as people learned how to play them - are still regarded as "meh" choices and their damage doesn't justify their points cost or their fragility. Meanwhile, electropriest and vanguards are considered to be almost required infantry.
Agree, especially when this video came out, it was still 8th ed, and breachers cost only 30 points for T5 W3 sv3+ with a very nice gun, and he is calling that expensive?
This list is fairly uneducated, competitively, the planes are all at least fine due to the fact that they can turn off rerolls or are incredibly durable to the point where they can't be killed basically.
Corpuscarii should be higher as of PA. The Lucius canticle gives them a better invuln, and the Lucius strategem allows you to deep strike a full unit of 20 into range to do damage. Add in the relic to teleport your Dominus 30" to give them reroll support and it's now a pretty decent choice. Goonhammer has a test list for this in the PA review.
Overall, great video. However, you did make an error with the skystalkers, which imo makes them significantly better. Unlike most bombers, the pteraxii roll a number of dice equal to the number in their own unit, not in the target one. While this makes them a bit worse against truly massive hoards, it means they have excellent anti-tank ability, dealing an average of SEVEN mortal wounds to a vehicle target per turn.
Well damn you are right. I always somehow manage to miss the one word that completely changes how a unit works. I don't know if this changes how I feel about them entirely, but dealing 7 mortal wounds to your opponents vehicles is always very nasty. MY only fear is getting them to and over the vehicles, especially if you are bringing them in from deep strike. It leaves them with at least 1 turn of shooting while being in range of your opponent. Maybe if they are bringing front line vehicles like transports it would be good.
They are excellent at taking out dreadnoughts and I think people tend to overlook that they can be put in transports as an alternative to deepstriking them

The thing about Infiltrators deep strike is that they're not sneaky at all. Infiltrators carry an antenna on their head that broadcasts an insane frequency white noise. The moment you hear it you go deaf, your eyes start to water and bleed and you basically become blind, and you can only taste rust in your mouth. The Infiltrators just walk up to you and shoot you. Theres no "deep strike". Also, the rest of the admech have a frequency scrambler in their heads that translates the infiltrator frequency into chants and canticles. So it's not that weird to put jetpacks on them.
As someone who is fairly new to the hobby, I'd quite like to request a Space Wolves video, because despite having a codex it all feels quite overwhelming. Thankfully your videos are really clear on these things.
Oh and the bombers. they can drop bombs every turn, rotate twice during movement to be anywhere on the board. thats 10d6 on hoards for each plane, meaning you kill a large number of models for free in your movement phase. the 12 stubbers with mars canticle are perfect for mopping up infantry objective holders at s5 ignoring heavy, and their ability to turn off auras is insane. Anecdotal evidence, but I had 3 planes kill 4 paladins, 10 possessed and countless objective holders. These are units that the admech codex otherwise struggles to kill, with little to no mortal wound output that can go ANYWHERE on the table
Although the Skitarii vanguard have a very good niche against T3 infantry and assault marines (the ones with jet packs and chainswords), because of the minus to strength and toughness infantry get when fighting them, and they don’t get any AP and wound on 4s or 5s
I think that the byo forge World traits are usable if you completely specialize your list for example a data-horde forge world with servo-focused augries and then shoot chicken spam with disintegrators

Data hordes with transcore powernodes effectivly turns breacher bombs into unstoppable murder holes, with exploding 5s and 6s on both shooting and melee. Combine with the mars canticle and you have your arc rifles wounding most vehicles in the game on 4s, exploding on 5s and 6s for d6 damage. Actually incredible
@@dr.squishyhate5704 From what I've heard they're a very difficult army to play and should be used together with tyranids. I've got no clue but that's what guides have told me.
Enginseers exist as much to carry more warlord traits as anything else. The strategem that lets you add warlord traits to characters (not randomly, you get to pick) other than your warlord is very, very important for admech. Stacking warlord buffs is a strategy that is all but required. Also, I disagree with making Cawl your warlord. Being forced to take the warlord traits that adds 3” to his aura range often isn’t worth the extra safety you get from his toughness. You can make one hell of a deathstar with a 6” aura as it stands, so 9” isn’t really necessary. I think a Dominus is usually a better choice for warlord. Just my opinion. Also, I think the corpuscarii and fulgurites may be slightly better in 9th with the ability to drop anything into strategic reserve for CP. As it stands in 8th, you can manage to deep strike a full unit of 20, but it is pretty expensive to set up in terms of CP, points, and other resources you have to dedicate to making it happen. If you can dump 15 corpuscarii off-board for 1CP, or a full unit of 20 and a Manipulus for 2CP, I think they become more valuable.
Im currently building a Admech Army just picked up 3 start collecting boxes and a Apocalypse box w/the 6 Kastelan bots, 3 datasmiths and the Tech Priest
For the Table Top 40k game, can you have an army comprised of one type of model, for example an army of only Servitors with some tech priest thrown in?
I know Custodes only have damn near two models total, but have you ever thought of doing the Custodes Codex tier list? Because their models may seem similar(T5, 3W, 2+,4++), but they have things like shield hosts etc.
Are sydonian dragoons that good? A unit of 6 is over 400 points which is only a little less then a knight. I'm building an ad mech army and I'd like ur opinion.
very good video sir! as an old returning player your videos are a nice way for me to get caught up on the new models and also because I picked Ad mech as my army to get back into 40k again. would like to see your thoughts on the chaos demons.
Want to say thanks as I just started collecting 40k with admec and was really in need of some confirmation on my hunch that belleros energy cannon was the way to go for the skorpius disentigrater. That said based on digesting all that has been put out on 9 th edition so far I feel you failed to note a few things. First being that with the likely rise in usage of monobrigade formats to get access to more fast attack or heavy support slots. along with that daedalos and belisarius cawl cant take relics, become field commanders of the vigilance detachments or take the holy order warlord traits. cybernetica datasmiths will likely become the equivalent of regular techpriests of 8th. Cheap units that are used to fill detachments and can take whichever warlord traits/field commander you couldn't fit onto the last hq choice as there it wouldn't be unheard of to want at least 3 of the holy order warlord traits from the psychic awakening book. The other being the fusilave's stratagem to cause grounded units hit by bombs to halve their movepseed vs assault units which would help with the smaller board size. Also it can drop multiple bombs per target if the squad is made up of monsters or vehicles,ie guillaman or transports. The fusilave also is dependent on its squad size for how many bombs it can drop like the skystrikers are, which is something you missed. Finally while the exploding arc weapons is really good with breachers. Full Rerolls to hit on all cognis weapons within half range isn't anything to sneeze at. Especially since the biggest users of them, the ballistari and the planes, tend to do their own thing. P.S. while something that is probably already FAQ away in some part, RAW the Manipulus can take the relic anzion's pseudogenetor and the holy order warlord trait of the genetor to give nearby units +3" to charge including himself and have 15 attacks. Terrax assault drills filled with this and your preference in electropriests couldn't be any happier imo.
I always take 1 Onager with the Icarus Array since there is a SURPRISING AMOUNT of enemy units with the Fly keyword - nukes Battlesuits, Drukhari vehicles, and yeah, actual Flyers.
I'm not too sure when and how I'm going to be covering 9th edition things. As the Necrons are getting their codex pretty early I might err on the side of making an update video over a full video, because there is still quite a few 8th edition videos I need to make. I might just give it a little bit of time to see what people think though.
I would love to see a Space Marines video (Salamanders specifically..) but it must be hard WHEN THEY JUST KEEP RELEASING AMAZING NEW RULSS AND MODELS ALL THE TIME!!
Good video, and I agree with about 90% of it! Is there a specific reason that you didn't include the secutarii or the termite? While I would put the peltasts at tier one or two, I would put the hoplites at a three or four, despite not getting forgeworld benefits. Their cheapness at 90pts for 10, ability to field up to 20 in a squad, and invulnerable save makes them the perfect disposable vehicle hunters/ speed bump.
I wish that they didnt change the start collecting box for the ad mech I dont have an imperial army and these guys look like the option im interested in
Some units deserve higher positions. First of all, Ironstriders are underrated. The thing is that, when you take Ironstriders, you always use CPs on them. These chicken bots are the perfect target of the doctrina stratagem, as they both wield good shooting weapons and can be taken in squads to maximize the effect. With this stratagem they not only hit on 2s but ignore the moving penalty altogether. Engine Wars makes them even better by giving them another stratagem, which allows them to wound any infantry on 2s and one shot kill primaris with autocannons (if combined with the Mars canticle they instead wound anything T7 or less on 2s) or, in the case of lascannons, wreck enemy armor by wounding any non-titanic vehicles on 2s. With stratagems these bots are actually better tank hunters or infantry sweepers than onager dunecrawlers, and don't forget that they have cognis overwatch to shoot the crap out of anyone that tries to charge you. Secondly, the bomber. It is a generic bomber on its own, but can be super annoying with the use of stratagems. There is one stratagem that slows targets down, and you can drop the slowing bomb at a different target than the one you damage, thus you can both cut down a group of infantry and make some melee dudes sitting ducks at the same time. There is also the no-aura aura stratagem, which, due to the lack of explicit definitions currently, can affect a stupidly large amount of abilities, including bodyguard rules. Therefore, one such plane is enough to completely shut down those nasty Tau drones. The two Serberys units deserve better ratings as well. The Raiders only cost 14 points per model, which is dirt cheap in terms of points per wound, only marginally beaten by guardsmen. As a comparison with other AdMech units, for 14 pts you get a Fulgurite, who has only 1 wound, and for 15 pts you have an Infiltrator, who has exactly the same statline as Raiders but one less wound. The low point cost makes Raiders unwanted targets for the opponent as any weapons used on them are a waste of points, yet they can force the enemy to attack them by moving extra fast and playing some sniper shenanigans. As for the Sulphurhounds, my take on them is that: don't take the carbine ones. At 31 pts they cost the same as breachers, and they certainly lack the survivability of kataphrons. The pistol ones cost 18 pts for 3 wounds, which is still cheap enough to be expendable. Also beware that these guys have as many as 8 bolt pistols per model, with 2 pistols and D6 auto-hitting flamers, all with AP-1 and ignore cover, which more than justifies their costs. And since they are all pistol weapons (and they even have that Rad-saturated shenanigan), it is actually a good idea to charge them into something to make the best out of these guys.
where do you find daedalosus? Gamesworkshop website and even Forge World dont have this character and im very curious to see where he is. Im fairly new and would love to be pointed in the right direction please.
Good video, but i see through the "Squishy" units. The units may have little wounds, and bad melee. But take into account that they are a ranged-focused army
look, listen... the sulphurhounds have flamethrowers for their mouths. This cancels everything else out.
As a nercon player I want a unit if these that my overlord fall in love with

If you can dump 15 corpuscarii off-board for 1CP, or a full unit of 20 and a Manipulus for 2CP, I think they become more valuable.
dat fury ost in the background though ) nice
Another sweet video man. Can we see daemons next?
Also a note oan the strato raptor, in 9E only infantry suffer the -1 to moving and shooting heavy
Tyranids or Custodes next?
Im currently building a Admech Army just picked up 3 start collecting boxes and a Apocalypse box w/the 6 Kastelan bots, 3 datasmiths and the Tech Priest
God I didn’t realise admech were this cool! I’m tempted to start an army now 😅
For the Table Top 40k game, can you have an army comprised of one type of model, for example an army of only Servitors with some tech priest thrown in?
I like that the servitors look like something out of Quake 2.
Apparently explosive weapons are getting buffed in 9th to hit more numerous units. That'll make the bombing plane thing a bit better.
Will you make an update of this with the changes in 9th in consideration?
Please please, do tyranid tier list. Im constructing a hive army and would love to see tips about what units are the best atm
Can't wait for the dark eldar boys
My only problem with Admech is that it seems like they have a billion anti-tank options, but only a few anti-troop options.
If you roll a 1 on OC plasma regardless of plus to hit, it still deals a wound iirc
I always take 1 Onager with the Icarus Array since there is a SURPRISING AMOUNT of enemy units with the Fly keyword - nukes Battlesuits, Drukhari vehicles, and yeah, actual Flyers.
cant wait to see a dark angel review or other none codex space marines
Instant sub when i heard picture in motion
If I were an Electro-Priest I would wear some cool looking Ray-Bands instead of those weird blindfolds... 😎
Great job!
Please if you can do a space wolves video thank you!
Are you going to cover the next Necron codex when it comes out, or wait until people figure it out
I'm not too sure when and how I'm going to be covering 9th edition things. As the Necrons are getting their codex pretty early I might err on the side of making an update video over a full video, because there is still quite a few 8th edition videos I need to make. I might just give it a little bit of time to see what people think though.
@@Grueman awsome man
And the twin cognis lascannons....
It's not very good.
Had me cracking up, thanks for the tips!
What's with the "sudden voice faded"? And you've left out UR-025? I didn't see it or did I missed it?
Vangaurd are really good with the Metallica forge world. You can advance and fire at full BS, giving them good objective grabbing ability.
Maybe spacemarine codex next ?
Are you gonna do a drukhari vid like this?
where do you find daedalosus? Gamesworkshop website and even Forge World dont have this character and im very curious to see where he is. Im fairly new and would love to be pointed in the right direction please.
New to the game myself, but AFAIK he's from the Blackstone Fortress: Escalation box, but is playable in 40k.
can you make a tier list for kill team units!
How many stars would a Desecrator Knight get?
The question is, can I build a competitive Ad-Mech list with Fulgurite Electro-Priests?
Could you do genestealer cults at some point please
I like to put 2, 5 man squads of vanguard, both with plasma calivers in a transport. Lotsa damage coming out of a transport
Looking forward to the tyranids codex tier list
Great channel, awesome videos! Keep up the good work!
Greetings from Germany, your videos help a lot to get orientated
oh, i like this series of vids
where them Tyranid list at?
Could you do the space wolves pls!?
Chicken Flyer gets a 1 for design. A ONE!
Hey come closer
Daemons
Is this for 8th or 9th edition?
I’m getting a couple rangers and a Armiger warglaive
It would be great if you displayed point cost
Would love to hear your thoughts on the forge world units, especially the terrax
So mostly heavy armor is the way to go?
Good video, but i see through the "Squishy" units. The units may have little wounds, and bad melee. But take into account that they are a ranged-focused army
