The strut NEVER comes out of the hub just by removing the bolt - you need a spreader tool to spread the rear of the hub. Also, this method won't work on the other side as the drive shaft won't allow the hub to drop low enough to get the strut out.
Thank you for the feedback! We appreciate you sharing your experience with us. Best Regards, Autodoc
Oh yeah i've learned that the hard way last week when i installed coilovers on my Mk4. Getting the old struts loose is a literal hell. Managed to get it loose by using an entire bottle of WD-40 and hammering on the wheel assembly like crazy. Wish i'd gotten a spreader tool instead.
@@Max34557 Which springs did you use? How many coils are on the springs and how would you characterize the ride quality? I bought Eibach springs that have 9 coils and intend to pair them with Bilstein shocks. The car is for road use only. I'm unsure if maybe I picked a set of springs that will be too tight and unforgiving on the open road. The springs in this video have 7 coils and I believe they are the standard type of coils found on the car from the factory. If 9 coils is better suited for the track and ruins the ride comfort, I might have to replace them soon after they're installed. Your opinion is appreciated.
Does anyone reading his have experience with Eibach springs manufactured for the Golf MK 4? The Eibach springs I purchased have 9 coils and will pair them with Bilstein shocks. The springs in this video have 7 coils. I feel like the Eibach springs might be excessively firm and create a very rough ride once installed. If you have the same springs from Eibach, or a similarly designed spring from a different manufacturer, i'm interested in hearing your review of the springs, what shocks you paired them with, and the ride quality of the car after installation. Specifically, are they good for everyday use on roads or are they better suited for a race track? Also, Autodoc, I appreciate this video and all of your other videos. They are helpful.
I gotta get one of those spring compressor tools he has.

Hello. What should i do if the two upper struts of my car's suspension at the front are a bit lose? Should i replace it with a new one or should i just make it tight?
Thank you for the feedback! We strongly recommend you to visit a specialized car service center. Best regards, Autodoc.
How come that you took the wheel and brake system from the Octavia MK1 and not with this car...with the Octavia was it not necessary also...

Does taking out these bolts effect your tracking
Thank you for the feedback! What bolts exactly do you mean? Best Regards, Autodoc.
Taking out the strut locator bolt or the 3 control arm bolts will necessitate an alignment. After changing struts an alignment is required.
