wow I don't think there is a better band than devo. They bring their old keyboards, costumes, their own instruments with platelets, always in constant return. And this is only a couple of years ago, hopefully they will continue for many more years.
I was introduced to these guys at around 10 years old by SNL. Ahead of their time doesn't even begin to explain it. I will never recover. I am DEVO.

They performed "Girl Can't Help It" at the "Pink Flamingo" show in '75, thus its rather unexpected appearance at Burger Boogaloo.
What exactly is "Pink Flamingo?" I've tried to search it and all that pops up is the movie.

@@MichaelPilmer This tour was the fourth time I'd seen the Spuds and, yes, this scrambled version of BW with Boogie Boy's mutterings was easily the weakest ending for a concert from them.
@@Vlad65WFPReviews I saw them several times in the 70's and 80's, all the way up until they didn't tour for Shout because Alan bailed. Then saw them again around 91ish, and last was 2013, when Bob was still with us (Josh drumming). They still had it. I can't believe this is the same band. Maybe they'd been drinking, but I'll just stick with my memories at this point.

Hey buddy, not sure if you've realized but Devo's always been about politics (and sex too, I guess). Weather you became a fan since day one or started listening after hearing Whip it on MTV for the first time, Devo's always had anti-capitalistic messages constantly sprinkled within their songs. Whip it is actually a good example, maybe if you'd use your tiny little thinker you'd realize that Whip it's about the American strong-arm ethic of just hitting something until it works (And also slavery1?!?!). Even the Devo's name is politically charged, short for De-evolution (Devolution for medium). Why do you think Devo disapproves of trump? Because he's just a huge Huboon! Shouldn't we all love one another instead of ostracizing people based off of ultimately, unimportant things? "Hmm yes! I indeed do think that keeping Mexicans out of our 'Free' country is fantastic and patriotic 🤓🦅" . Christ dawg. De-evolution has since the beginning been largely about Republicans
So, how would fighting Trump be for devolution? Besides, you should probably get it straight, anyways - DEVO didn't particularly advocate for, or against, devolution. They were more about reporting it. If they have come down on one side more recently, that's their call to make. Gerry has generally been a more political member. If the band has issues w/Trump, it could very much be for deliberately accelerating the rate/pace of de-evolutionary market forces.
Although I am a Trump fan, I like DEVO too much to boycott them. Although I really didn't like them talking against Trump, at least they didn't go on too long about it. I wish ALL entertainers would just keep their pie holes shut when it comes to politics.

It might be news to you that DEVO started way back in the early 1970s because of the political turmoil at Kent State, and have always leaned way left in their lyrics, etc. Don't pretend you know things.

You should try to find the interviews that Jim Ladd did with the band back in 1980 & 1981 (Jim Ladd's "Innerview" series). You get a good sense of their beliefs.
