Happy Anniversary. So much has changed in those 51 years. We're so far from Peace. Only with Jesus.....
A wonderful use of poetry. The alliteration is masterful and will never be out of place.
RIP David Crosby for bringing us these incredible harmonies.
Crosby had the ears and the voice. Harmonies were his LIFE
Those harmonies, magical! RIP David.
i choked on hello and tripped on goodbye.
Whenever I can join in with the harmonies, my soul soars...what a blessing to join in..
Legends.
Croz is the one who brings the two dominant voices together
Stills said Crosby was the honey between them.
Thanks for your artistry, fellas.
I lived and breathed this album in my teen years.
It enriched my life immeasurably.
Good Vibrations
I was 19, great memories.
I was 2, and listening in 2021😊! God bless all🙏☀️
Brilliant to say the very least
I was a drummer in a rock band back then and we tried to play several of their songs, my opinion the band was never the same the day Young left. " Best Music Ever "
While CSNY was incredible, CSN never needed Y. CSN was magical and what they accomplished has stood the test of time.
Its 2024 and I saw the original the first time :-c I love this music!
Splendid...once in a lifetime harmony perfected!
Simply is the best !!!
A favourite of mine ❤
I was at that show. The big rumor was that Neil Young was gonna show up. Kinda glad he didn't.
Gorgeous! & that smile from Croz at the end...priceless!
Stills best ever
I want to be this good... ♥️😎
Best harmonizers in the business!!
That’s S&G
@@SlowBloke123no it’s not, although they are also superb. CSN are THE best.
@@Eleventhearlofmars oh yes it is!
I'll throw in Poco as a "best harmonies" contender. Poco came on the heels of Buffalo Springfield's breakup.
This was a Manassas concert which was clearly Stills' best band ever.
I wonder what the cameraman made ignore Davids singing, so he was just focusing on Stephen and Graham?
#wishiwasthere
Groovy
Damn….that’s all I can say. Damn.
Why wasn't Crosby also pictured, harmonizing with his band mates in this video
Maybe Croz was little under the weather (not vocally).
@@tinyfrog919 You're right! Perhaps he was?
They are three together... so why don't we see Crosby ?? 😅
❤❤❤
Stephen's Lambchops are WORLD CLASS here ...
Helplessly hoping her harlequin hovers nearby
Awaiting a word
Gasping at glimpses of gentle true spirit, he runs
Wishing he could fly
Only to trip at the sound of goodbye
Wordlessly watching, he waits by the window and wonders
At the empty place inside
Heartlessly helping himself to her bad dreams, he worries
Did he hear a goodbye?
Or even hello?
They are one person
They are two alone
They are three together
They are for each other
Stand by the stairway, you'll see something certain to tell you
Confusion has its cost
Love isn't lying, it's loose in a lady who lingers
Saying she is lost
And choking on hello
They are one person
They are two alone
They are three together
They are for each other
this is sick as fuck
I second that
Even Stephen Still had tuning problems, and he didn't have a tuner, had to tune it by ear. Then he kicked it off too fast. Even the big boys had problems. LOL
For a second I thought they were going to just grind it out with the bad tuning.
Please see how Crosby recognizes the out of tune guitar before they start. Graham and Steven both check and Crosby tells Stills the E string. A hell of a lot of bad things could be said about Crosby but his ear was never one of those.
Easier to separate out the individual parts in this recording. On the album it’s much harder cuz they’re so damn tight & seamless.
Weird that Crosby was cut out of the video during the singing.
Graham's voice is pure magic 2:19
My thoughts exactly
In the stratosphere
The sound is made by stills and nash. Where is -crosby?
I can hear his voice, especially at the latter part.
Can someone that understand a bit of human voice explain to us exactly which mode each are using? It sounds simple yet i can't take one apart from the other ig stills is using head voice and the other two are using the upper parts of the same register (falsetto) [btw if there's anything wrong bare in mind I'm here to learn so any mistakes just let me know]
I’m no singer or know anything about it, but it sounds like Crosby is merely speaking his lines. I know he isn’t but that’s how my ears give it to me
Professionalism in motion....
You need a roadie 3
Crosby given middle child treatment by the camera editor.
Your opinion and am happy to respect it. But I disagree. Those harmonies, as others have pointed out, are damn good. There was a reason those popularity continued after NY’s departure.
Sucks when you can't hear the note and you're the one playing the fucking guitar, Steven
I've found it amazing over my 55+ years of playing (mostly avocationally amateur) how many fellow musicians, though they are excellent once in tune, have no clue, and are extremely dependent on tuners, or having someone like Croz in the mix. Some people just don't have a good ear for such. You've got to play at least in relative tune (strings to each other)... and that's all that's really needed if you just have a guitar or two or three, just tune to each other... Even without a tuner, somebody get in relative tune and have the rest follow (except you don't want to be way overtuned for the sake of the guitar).... Obviously not sufficient if you've got other band instruments; you need a tuner... or you can tune to piano/keyboard, ideally. Even then, all you really need is to hear a high E (two to the right of middle C) and enough of an ear to tune the rest accordingly.
born i the wrong generation
Soundtrack movie of annhillation..
What is annhillation? Did Ann do something on the hill?
@@schultzescu1 It's a science fiction movie! c:
