- King, Warrior, Lover, Magian is one of the most popular books for men. it outlines 4 traditional archetypes that all men have and can cultivate in their lifetime. It also looks at the healthy, integrated versions of each, along with the shadow.
I take a deep dive into the Magician. The shadow, disfunction, and healing of the modern magician. Subscribe and stay tuned for the other archetypes.

Thanks for an excellent introduction to the Magician archetype. I just wanted to point out that the Trickster is not as a malicious character as you make him/her out to be. Yes they are driven by impulses, but are drawn to disruption of the status quote. Tricksters live on the boundaries of society and systems, looking to disrupt the borders of such systems in order to invite change. They inject chance and accident into our lives to dilute sterility. A little dirt needs to be thrown into the mix now & then, and its the role of the Trickster to take action. The Trickster has been represented universally in myths from around the world; Hermes, Seth, Anansi, Loki, Krishna, Enki, Coyote to name just a few. I invite you to check out "Trickster Makes the World" - Lewis Hyde.

Hi, thank you for the video. This is my first time on your channel.
Power stuff I've learnt so much
Imo..
The Magician is the matured Lover archetype. As the Lover matures, he becomes a philosopher. As the Magician matures his youthful philosophical Lover nature turns towards the esoteric. His unconventional nature, and inclination towards novelty, shift towards organized wisdom of esoteric knowledge. Then, the more masculine King grounds the Magicians knowledge into practical application, which becomes traditional wisdom (opposite of novelty). The Lover and Magician are the creative archetypes.
I'm a Christian life coach in a wheelchair who is coaching women (with a focus on moms and daughters) to get back up when life happens with connecting God/others/themselves. Would I be magician? I call myself the Resurrected power coach. I am just curious because I have struggled with getting my brand and content to be consistent. My brand voice for instance I can be almost hero, magician and sage. I found this helpful thanks! :)
People inherently mistake these archetypes as types of people that they think they are, "I am a magician", instead of recognizing them as aspects of ones own humanity. The comment sections always make it apparent that many sadly won't understand the message being conveyed.
I am what I call an occasional magician/wizard. Sometimes I have some deeeep wisdom that flows through me and changes the lives of others throughout my life. My issue is that I don’t have direct access to this wisdom if I ever want to start dishing out wisdom out of the blue. I can go deep with someone and open their eyes, and someone else can come along with the exact same issue, and I’ll have nothing for them. I don’t know why. Hence, occasional wizard/magician.
I am a Magician. I teach many people to get back to themselves and nature. And when I say nature I mean "Be a unplugged human and connect back to self and universe." With Meditation and Hinduism I take the machine out of the human consciousness and turn people back into humans.
Dude what's the safest way to self hypnotizing yourself because I'm not into the mumbo jumbo slicks

The best way is through meditation. First learn how to meditate. Then in your Meditation tell yourself what you want to do or stop doing. Focus on your inner self centered, ego, when doing this. You will find that what ever you focus on in Meditation will bleed out into your life.
@@jhbluewolf6034 Honestly, he is right. Meditation is relatively solid.
@@jhbluewolf6034 get some magic mushrooms. And for God's sake stay away from Pagan religions.
Do you have a subreddit? You should if not!
Guys, try Brazilian jiujitsu or another martial art to fulfill this archetype
Thank you for the very informative talk put in such a good way, i am wandering, how is it we can identify the joker in ourselves?
🖤
Please review the joker. You set the joker in your sights then took a drunken swing to the left shot a rare wildflower and claimed victory.
👍
I feel like in some parts, you mix up the Magician archetype with the Sage archetype; but also if you're only speaking from the perspectives of the 4 archetypes, I can see why you paired the two; but I feel there is a difference between the magician and the sage.
How would you distinguish the two? I see alot of overlap in many other people's descriptions as well.
@@blaketheshepherd my apologies, i said my previous comment ignorant to the fact that I was speaking from a 'branding archetype' perspective meanwhile he was speaking from the book "King, Warrior, Lover, Magician" which is a book that speaks upon the 4 paths of manhood. I would delete my comment but the damage is done lmao
@@n888xx lol it's all good. I knew what you meant.
You are referring to the 12 archetypes in Carol Pearson's system.
