- An incredibly uplifting disco cover of a 1940 jazz standard, which deservedly hit No.1 in the dance charts for disco legend Gloria Gaynor in 1975. My 'Mega Edit' of 'How High The Moon' is based on the fabulous production by Jay Ellis, Meco Monardo and Tony Bongiovi (arranged by Harold Wheeler, mixed by Tom Moulton)...

Terrific! I still have the album in almost mint condition. I loved this track. This was of course from the early "first wave" of Disco- 74-76 pre Saturday Night Fever and Studio 54. That unique brass and hi hat NYC sound. Tony Bongiovi was of course the older cousin of rock superstar John Bon Jovi. Meco Monardo would have his own No1 hit with the disco version of the "STAR WARS" Theme. Gloria was crowned "Queen of Disco" by NYC DJs long before a certain Miss D Summer would arrive on the scene and snatch the crown. Truly fabulous music!
Donna Summer never snatched any Crown from Gloria Gaynor her fans still love her and thinks she's the queen and so do I.
I have the album as well. It was unusual un that there wasn't a defined break between tracks.

Yes. A jazz standard originally recorded by Benny Goodman in 1940.
Hay una versión del tema, de Ella Fitzgerald, la interpretación es un Jazz.
Lo mejor de lo mejor 💯💥
A Beloved LP through and through.
Thanks for reworking one of Gloria’s best recordings ! It leaves me breathless !
Thanks, Johnny!
