When I first heard this song back in the day. I knew Donna Summer was going to be incredible with such a Voice. The Disco Queen of all time. Still listening in 2024 May Everyone have a GOOD YEAR and FLY!!!
As a 26 year old this was playing at a party and a 42 year old blonde asked me to dance, thinking it was 3 minutes long i said yes, she danced the legs off me, it was the EP version perhaps over 20 minutes long and we went out for a few months, she was the sort of woman that would walk into a bar and people would stop talking, yes at 26 i was a toy boy and now as a 69 year old i have such good memories of this song that lady dancing rings around me and being with someone so special. My mom and dad found out and went nuts she was their best friend hahahahahaa so what ; i say now, enjoy life in the fast lane and remember those really good times when you were younger and didnt really know it all. Such is life, yeah fond memories of growing up .wherever she is bless her and her memory, AND i tell you this, it seems just two weeks ago i wsa thirty, it went that fast . dont hurt people but have fun .
Was working in a discothèque as a server and pulling customers on the dance floor to liven the party!....forever grateful Ms Summers for your gift .......
Agree 🎯! I remember the first time my dad came home with this album….. ‘76, I was 12 yo reading a paperback novel ‘Tomboy’ in the living rm with my dad. The album back then was called A Trilogy of Love. I think it’s her greatest, then MacArthur Park Suite. Just beautiful 🖤🎶
Not only was Donna Summer a beautiful woman and a wonderful talent. She was bold enough to not worry about time and make these amazing and entrancing 8 to 20 minute songs and they were usually the best songs on the albums because of it. Definition of truly getting lost in the music and letting it just take its course. It’s so easy to get lost in these funky, groovy, and atmospheric dance tunes that even for as long as they are. They never get boring. As a 23 year old. Discovering Donna’s and Giorgio’s work has been a real treat. They were simply the best.
these extended versions are more about disco being king at the time & the disco dancers wanting to stay in the groove for as long as possible, people would dance the hustle for as long as the song played, you can see good examples of the dance in the movie " Saturday night Fever" also one of John Travolta's early roles
I miss the 70s so much....we all just wanted to go dancing on the weekends...such a fun time and people seemed so much happier than now...People need to dance more...you cannot be angry while you dance to beautiful music like this
@@AstralPixie Yes, we were all just more happy, we found ways to be happy, and it was not complicated...just going dancing was such a wonderful thing...I wish people would go dancing again, it would help the world a lot.

In 1977, when I bought my first car, I used to play this music and would sing along while driving. It makes driving especially a long trip exciting and entertaining. Donna Summer's music tears my heart to shreds because I had such an intense love affair at the height of her popularity. I just have to hear her and my heart melts, my brain goes back to auburn hair, green eyes and nights of endless lovemaking. And that was forty years ago.
Love Love Love this song! I was 16 and in Germany on an army base (army brat). Met Donna at the PX in Robinson Barracks in Stuttgart Germany. She was big in Germany first and she signed my Love to Love You Baby 45" sleeve...met her 35 years later and she remembered the meeting...cause she just loved my mom who worked at the PX at that time. You have to listen to her Christmas albums.....lovely voice and Disco will never die...feel good music!
In 1978 I bought the Album for the remake of “ Could it be Magic “ by Barry Manilow. I decided to play side B not realizing it was 1 song. I played “ Try Me, I Know, We Can Make It “ until I wore out the record. Bought 3 more Albums , 6 Cassettes & 2 Cd. It’s 2024there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t play this song. 46yrs later I still play this song. Thank you Donna Summers.

It takes a chain, Donna on vocals, SUPERB!!!! Donnas sisters in the background, AMAZING!!! But also give credit to the musicians!! ... Synthesizers and what not. This song is a MASTERPIECE !!!
This great dance song has been playing in my head for many years. Although now in my 60s, this song gives me a rush of youth every time I listen. Donna is just brilliant at keeping me young and full of life! Thank you precious Donna forever, for the excitement and the memories xx

I was a teenager back then and loved to dance the Hustle. Not too long ago, I went friend's 50th BD party and the dress code was 70's style, along with the Disco Ball lights, Afros, bell-bottoms, etc. The DJ played this song and all the hustlers came out! I lead and follow. I danced with more than 10 people and I was wiped out but I NEVER had so much fun dancing to this epic song! PS, I'm 63 years old.
The way she sings this song is mesmerizing. The sying, moaning..I love sexy music especially this one. The beat and voice. I believe she was ahead of her time. I so miss and love you Donna Summer. RIP you beautiful woman.
There us nothing like the Disco nights with Donna Summers friday nights dance till you drop. and then some fabulous music nothing like those day's. Try me.....
1978 my older sister was a disco Queen and taught me how to disco dance as well as hustle to this fabulous hit, I was only 14. Till I've always and forever will love the Queen of disco Donna Summer. John Rodriguez

'76 was a like a dream. I was 17, gay and newly svelte. My favorite from Donna Summer was actually Four Seasons of Love -- Spring Affair, but I liked everything she did.
I liked how Donna summer would show vocal restraint and sing depend on what the song required. She could belt if she wanted but had nothing to prove. A lesson to all you current artistes

One Day they were playing the Love Trilogy and at fir the song that I liked was the remake of Barry Manlow. Could it be Magic loved it, went over and bought the Album. Une Diva ! La Reine du Disco ! Repose en Paix Donna. Tes admirateurs ne t oublient pas ! Quel album...que de souvenirs.... Merci.

The first time I hear of Donna Summer was the long version Love To Love You Babe. In 1978 the Department Store I worked was the Electronic Department and the sold 45’s Albums & Cassettes. One Day they were playing the Love Trilogy and at fir the song that I liked was the remake of Barry Manlow. Could it be Magic loved it, went over and bought the Album. Played the whole album until I came to “Try Me, I Know We Can Make It played it til I wore out the album and the needle. I have the Album, Cassette and the CD. I play this song when I go to sleep. I’m a Marine Combat Veteran and music helps me sleep. When ever I’m down or just need a pick up. This song puts me in the right mood. Thank you Donna Summer for all the wonder music you gave to the the world.
